Oops message went too soon. Hoping to get big Xmas cake baked today, unless, I suddenly find myself having Dgs while DD2 is out shopping
Hope everyone has a great day today whatever the weather.
I gave up driving two years ago. I am nearly 85.
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark here but looks cold and dry outside , maybe frosty as well.
Yesterday, turned out to be a good day for me , I went into Bicester early , and also saw a few people acknowledging me, I got some Fish & Chips takeaway wise ,as the BT engineer could arrive anytime after 1.
To add landline resolved , due to a faulty phone around 10 years , the engineer described it when he rang my number I sounded if I was stood 100 metres away from the phone ,anyway lucky that I had brought another sometime back which was on charge , we did the phone swap and the newer one works perfect.
Today , I plan getting bus to Buckingham ,and then go to Bicester for a short while , returning via Buckingham , may have a snack there , as I may get a Chinese take away later .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a miserable Glasgow.
A much cheerier thread this morning, with lots of good news.
Good to see you back Pants, we missed you!
Covid warriors on the mend, Mick's phone problem solved, Bluesapphire testing negative, great to hear.
I am having a gentle, relaxing day today, hopefully DD and SIL will visit. SIL has been ill for weeks with that super cold and wanted to stay away from me. (Who could blame him?)
Yesterday DD kept sending me photos of half opened jars and packets of food, asking if I wanted them. ( They are selling their flat and clearing out cupboards) After receiving about ten photos, I told her just to stop taking photos, to bring the lot, I wasn't too proud to accept out of date food! I hate waste!
I shall have a trawl through it, to see if it's safe.
However, this behaviour worries me. It indicates that they are planning to move in with us soon. Help!!!! My son in law can't wait, but can I?
!
Hoping the dreaded steroids are helping, Gwen and your family are on the mend soon, Susan.
Wishing you all a gentle, peaceful day.
Cheshire ! Blooming phone !
Milder here today in Chester.
Very busy day yesterday with two youngest GC for afternoon and evening. DH will be going to watch GS at football practice this morning . Same two coming for lunch today as DS and DIL have a busy day ahead.
Hope to fit in a walk if I can drag the children away from electronic devices !
Enjoy Saturday as much as you can everyone.
Good morning all from dry but chilly Harrogate looks breezy too
Yesterday was a bit of a weary blur, but DH was taking dog to the vet so I went to Morrisons (almost next door). I had to do a Hermes return so queued at customer service for 20 minutes to find I had to go to an automatic unit on the far side of the shop. Got and it wanted my QR number????? I’d checked in the morning what I had to do - no sign of needing a QR. So looked on my phone, but Amazon needed a password - they are the bane of my life. So ended up home complete with parcel. One the way home I called in M&S for the ordered sheet. Opened the packet when I got home and discovered it had been spelt wrong. Cream had been spelt W-h-I-t-e. Utterly fed up decided it would have to do.
Glad to see you back pantglas was in Llandudno in September, as beautiful as ever.
Good to hear your phone now sorted Mick. makes life so much easier. My mobile is now needing looked at simulate problems to your landline, but it’s 18 months old and can’t afford a replacement just yet.
Good morning everyone. Looks a bit murky outside but will have to venture out later.
We have 2 new mattresses being delivered today. Then there will be a lot of rearranging. New bedding and curtains in my room. Swapping my old into bed. 3 and bed.3 into bed 4. Not sure if that is clear but I know what I mean.
Small shop to do locally and a fund raising sale to attend. This is for a little girl called Poppy who is very ill.
Had a message from DD 2 yesterday asking if we would like to go for lunch tomorrow. Apparently she is cooking stew and droppings. That’ll be interesting !
Hope you all have a good day with a smile along the way.
Woohoo, Pant is back, hurray, hurrah. Lovely to see you. I’ll do my best to send you some good weather from Anglesey, you wouldn’t believe how pleased I am to see you ?
Good morning everyone, dry and quiet, hints of blue sky.
I think I’ll be cutting down on Christmas cards too Beechnut with the price of stamps being so crazy.
Good result BlueSapphire, bet that’s a relief.
Leaf raking, garden tidying, a walk and a board game or two for us today. Like you Kim, we’re blessed with a happy and contented life.
Have a lovely day all. Treasure those random pink flamingos that flit through life. ???
Good morning all it’s very dark beyond those curtains today in severe contrast to the previous couple of days when the sun was blazing through. I guess it’s winter weather now
I want to lie still in my bed this morning but I guess I’ll be shoehorned out around 9.
Hugs to all in sadness today my thoughts and prayers are with you
Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and windy corner of Somerset. It is as our Littlest says yucky out there.
Our overnighting teenagers are still asleep, suspect they will be for hours yet. Ironing for me this morning. Some sorting later.
Good to see you back pantglas. Pleased your phone woes are sorted mick and your test was negative bluesapphire. Hope you stay bug-free susan, I’m envious of you and pittcitty watching fireworks from home.
Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.
Good morning all and I think it’s a little warmer here in Essex.
Booster jabs at 9 and maybe breakfast in town.
Not sure what plans we have for the weekend. Dh will probably find a footie match to watch locally and maybe have a coffee with my DB1 tomorrow morning.
Lovely to see Pantglas ?
Wishing you all a gentle day ????
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey with rain on the way. It’s quite windy too so that’ll mean lots more leaves to clear up in the garden later.
I’m pleased you got your phone fixed mick and hope you enjoy your weekend
This morning I’m taking DGD to her dance class and I’ll do a bit of shopping in town whilst she’s there. I’ve a couple of things to return to M&S that I ordered online but then had a change of mind and I want to get my Christmas cards sorted too. Then we’ll be meeting up with DD2 and DGS for lunch somewhere and a walk in the park if it’s not too wet.
Great to see you back on here Pantglas ?
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good news about your test BlueSapphire.
Good morning from gusty Leicestershire.
Trip down the M1 today to pick up granddoggy at the services. ( no they don’t leave him there with a label round his neck). It will be good to have him. It will get us out.
Didn’t know you lived so close Scentia Adam lives in our small town. I must say I prefer Rose though.
Our Covid family are looking forward to being allowed out on Tuesday!
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning all from central Herts where it looks dry and cold out there, thank goodness for good central heating.
I've been awake since early hours, got a wash on and had my shower already, I seem to have plenty of energy in the morning, but no doubt will flake out in the afternoon.
No worries as no grandchild care today or other pressing jobs to do, however may do a quick clean upstairs if I feel like it!
This week we booked up our first trip abroad (to Turkey) since pre Covid times for early December, we'll get back in time to prepare for Christmas so hopefully it will go smoothly.
Here's wishing all of you a pleasant weekend, whatever you are doing.
Good morning from a still dark Northampton, not as cold as yesterday, 9°C this morning. Sitting in bed with a mug of tea, and a cat on my lap, as per her usual routine. Listening to Tony Blackburn's Sounds of the Sixties on Radio 2 - ah, my mis-spent youth! Happy memories.....
Just had the results of my PCR test, negative luckily - apparently I no longer need to self isolate as I am double jabbed, so I can look forward to my rugby international tomorrow.
My plans for today are to make sausage rolls for Christmas and get them in the freezer, then that will be all my Christmas baking done, apart from cooking a ham, but will leave that till nearer the time.
Take care and stay safe everyone.
Good morning from Shropshire.
Welcome back Pants??
DGD came for a sleepover and we watched the fireworks from the comfort of home. She watched with her hands over her ears as they really were very loud but spectacular.
H still unwell and DD now has the same thing so it wasn’t a reaction.Hope we don’t get it???
Nothing planned today which is nice!
Have the best day you can all??
Good morning from a hazy Colchester. Could be the remnants of bonfire night smoke. A bit warmer today and dry.
The AC and DGSs enjoyed our free view of the town firework display and plan to do it again next year.
Back to decorating the lounge today. 2 more walls to go. I'm so glad to see the shiny magnolia disappearing.
Lovely to see you back Pants and love to all ?x
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.
Yesterday, I had intended to do a superficial clean and polish as we have friends coming for a drink on Sunday morning. But, at 9.45 the front door opened and DD3 and the Wondrous Wolfie appeared. Not a lot got done after that.
So a busy day ahead today, to include brunch for DH and DS1 before they go to the football.
Good morning everyone from a milder Torbay.
Welcome back, Pantglass2. My DH says you sound like my kind of person, if you're nosey!
I’m glad Kim19 is enjoying the IoW and that Jaxjacky had a good break in Poole. I’m pleased to hear Mick has his phone working. Thanks for the reminder about Christmas stamps, Beechnut! Gosh, Scentia, with all your activities, you probably will have lost weight! I admire your energy!
Yesterday we restarted the monthly Memory Café sessions at The Little Theatre. This is one of the things we offer to the community to demonstrate our charitable status. It’s rewarding for all concerned, whether volunteers, carers or their needy charges.
A quiet weekend ahead, not least because I’m at the tail end of a cold and have lost my voice!
Happy weekend, everyone! May your worries be little ones. ?????
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it feels ?
Off to weigh in at fat fighters soon. I will then collect DGD and bring her to ours for the weekend.
I am awaiting delivery of my litter pickers so I can do a litter pick in the brook on the estate tomorrow.
I will see if I have lost weight today and if I have I am going to treat us to a curry tonight to enjoy with strictly.
Adam lives a few miles from me and he is the local favourite this year☺️
Have a good Saturday folks.
☕️ The chamberpot Queen is back? and ready to rejoin lovely peeps on this thread - I have been keeping a beady eye on you during my sabbatical and know all about your misdemeanours, mishaps and sadly for some, misery ?
I’ve been up to all sorts of nortiness ?, had some family ‘challenges’ with a dad who forgets how old he is when he goes fishing.....? and the usual reminders that ‘Pantglas plans and God laughs’ !
Will pop back later and read all your bizzinesses - I’m just a nosey little minx ....?
Good morning all from a dark and dry Poole. Pleased your phone is fixed Mick and quite quickly.
We watched amazing fireworks over the bay last night, boy was it busy, our masks were on.
Back home today after a smashing three days away. Tesco delivering later, car needs fuel and a wash, back to normality.
Hope the poorly are feeling better, the sad see some sunshine and we all have some ???in our lives today.
Good Morning everyone from a dark and dry Severnside. I think I’ll get on and buy a new phone this month.
Today I’ll tidy up the cuttings that are strewn about on the lawn from the trimming up that went on the other day. If I’ve still got some energy and don’t do anything daft ?I’ll give the lawn a mow.
Hopefully I will start making some Christmas cards this weekend. I’ve decided not to send so many this year. Yesterday I bought some first class stamps. I didn’t hear how much they were when the assistant told me, just tapped my card. Afterwards when I looked at the receipt I got a shock ?
I’ve also got to sort out some clothing as Beechnutella is going to do a clothes sale soon.
Have a pleasant day all ??
Hello Mick! as I said previously I'm on the Isle of Wight and giving it a brush and polish for your prospective visit at Christmas. No need really. It's as lovely as ever. Life is doubly kind to me right now as I'm with fantastic friends of longstanding. Great to be reunited. Don't know what they have planned for me but, to quote the song, 'today's gonna be a good one'. Yippee!
Oh, Mick, so pleased your phone problems were so easily resolved. It is so difficult without one. I don’t have a mobile, and mine went wrong recently. But in our case, it was the line. It took BT three days for an engineer to come, although I had told them that we were old and it was our only means of communication.
