Has anyone got one? If so, which brand would you recommend. My awful right shoulder makes mashing difficult and DH tends to leave lumps in.

Have had one for years, wouldn’t be without one.
Mine is from Lakeland, but they are fairly easy to source.

I have used one for years, not sure where I bought it but would not be without it.

I had a Lakeland one years ago and must say it worked well, but as I had it when I had four children living at home it took far too long to process the amount of potatoes I needed. Now there's just the two of us I might think about getting another.

Mine is brilliant; think it came from Tesco but they did have them in Lakeland.

Mmm. I’ve got one, it makes lovely mash. But I wouldn’t say it would be THAT easy to use if you have a bad shoulder. You need a wide grip.

I was also wondering how easy it would be to use with your bad shoulder then it dawned on me - your husband will be able to improve his mash with it. Go for it!

I think mine was from Lakeland. They are great! Unfortunately, due to RA, I have a dodgy shoulder and also don't have a strong wide grip any more, but I can just about manage it half filled at a time. I must admit to sometimes resorting to ready-made mash from the supermarket.

My son-in-law uses an electric one! I don’t know the make but I imagine you can Google it.

Calistemon Thu 11-Nov-21 11:29:36

You can have mine!

Or mine! I never use it, it’s at the back of a cupboard somewhere, or maybe I gave it to a charity shop. Yes, it made nice mash but it just took soooo looooong to make enough for the ?? in this house.

Thank you so much for your replies

I have now ordered the Joseph Joseph one from Amazon. I chose it because it has a side to side rather than an up and down action so hopefully can use with upper arms pinned to my side. I’ll report back when I’ve used it.
