It’s my second week at the gym and I’ve managed to stick to it, even when I’ve been called into work I have gone into the gym before work so that has made me happy..?

Watching my brand new Roomba cleaning my floors.

Booked and paid for two lots of Theatre tickets in the next 5 months, and a couple,of nights away at a Christmas Market.
Feels decadent - and a real treat - when it was something I did without thinking pre-Covid.

I moved 400 miles from the house I had lived in for 25 years. I miss my friends very much but they started a Whatsapp group called Friends Apart.

I had a video phone call from them and saw their lovely faces. We chatted for nearly an hour and it made me feel very happy.

Lots and lots of small things- the last of the autumn colours, a great film, some self-sown pansies in the lawn, the birds on the feeder, a young friend who shared with me wonderful news... booking travel to come and spend fesitivities with ac and gcs- lots of small but wonderful things.

Can’t wait to read it.

My experiment at baking my Christmas cake in the slow cooker has turned out brilliantly. Smells divine and looks great. Obviously can’t comment on taste and texture yet but looking forward to eating some at Christmas,
Saved on electricity by not using the oven. A plus for me and the planet, so I can feel virtuous too.

Jennifer D, what a wonderful story. A selfless deed by your son has led to much joy. Not all heroes wear capes! - or maybe he does, I don't judge...

My DGS, aged 4, gave me a picture of Patch the pumpkin he had drawn, coloured in AND cut out, in an envelope he had made from 2 sheets of paper and LOTS of sellotape with 'Nana in here' on the front. So much effort for a lad who has just learned to write his letters! It made me very happy indeed.

Oh what a lovely thread!! I had my phone lost/ stolen on Monday..by Wednesday had received new sim and new bank card and went to Vodafone store where a really sympathetic 'young' person sorted out a new phone and contract on same terms as first one but cheaper and made sure it was safe for me to use my old number etc and explained he had been mugged twice for his phone in London and understood all my security concerns..he set up my phone for me, took about an hour , and when I got home I managed without the help of a young person to reload all the apps I wanted eg BBC news WhatsApp, fb, and yesterday my nephew showed me how to do the fancy stuff with the camera!!

Having a beautiful walk by the river and watching a kingfisher fishing quite close to me.

Was babysitting my little GS last night, as soon as his mother went out, he came downstairs and snuggled beside me and went to sleep! That made me happy! He is a lovely mischievous boy who has Down Syndrome.

Feeling good positive and upbeat.

My son gave stem cells back in 2014. The young man who got them has just become a father. He looks utterly joyful. They’ve given their daughter as a second name, the female version of my son’s. We’re all so happy for them.

One of my best friends caught Covid - but she's ok. Scared but ok. Such a relief.

I lost weight. Not a lot but it's made me happy to be below a certain big number.

I've actually got invited for interview! Most of my work colleagues are leaving and my best friends there have left. Time for a change ..and now I have an opportunity smile

Lovely week. Booked a lunch out with cousin and his wife. Went to visit my eldest brother who we haven’t seen for 18+ months. Had a good old reminisce about our childhood Christmas’s which, to us, were magical.
Bought a hula hoop to stop me from just sitting too much?.
Painting winter scenes using acrylic paints.
Caught up with an old friend over the telephone.

Granddaughter has got into her first choice secondary school. Very happy about that, they've had a shitty year with other stuff going on.

It's great to know that as far as COP 26 is concerned the clock has stood still - we are, as we were last year, one minute from Armageddon.

And we can look forward to a united front - 'We are all very good, we will work together and we will met again next year, just like we did last year'. Then it's back to the luxury jets to fly home without a care in the world, least of all about their massive carbon footprints.

Then they'll be back next year in Egypt at - let me check... Oh yes, one minute to Armageddon!

I'm delighted to see such hypocrisy so openly exposed! And all for nothing.

My DH came home from hospital, having been taken away in an ambulance the previous week. I am very glad to have him back.

Having a surprise phone call from my gd who I only see a few times a year, as she lives so far away.

nipsmum Sat 13-Nov-21 11:23:58

I got my hair done. My hairdresser has been ill for a few weeks.

JadeOlivia Sat 13-Nov-21 11:17:39

My husband had his long awaited knee replacement surgery this week (he's in full grumble mode because it's sore, but both of these things will pass).

I met up with 3 good friends from work days and we had a great lunch and a giggle together.

I am seeing my sisters this afternoon.

It is my birthday today. Would have been pension day if I and thousands of other women hadn't been done over by the change in pension age. Erm, thinking about this last dt paragraph, maybe not such a joyous occasion....
