It’s my second week at the gym and I’ve managed to stick to it, even when I’ve been called into work I have gone into the gym before work so that has made me happy..?

The beautiful autumn colours have been such a joy!

Yes, I came out of work yesterday afternoon to the leaves glowing red and orange with the late sun on them. A real Wow moment.

I had that too, this morning - I opened the curtains and the trees outside my bedroom window were caught in the early morning sun and the colours were was so unexpected it just took my breath away.

Sometimes nature is all you need ?????

What has made me happy this week is having a happy son again, he has been miserable having come back to live in the UK after 8 years abroad, he has flown to Oslo today to start his new life and new job, he is very happy.

Redhead56 M&S Burnley, some years ago having been ill but discharged from hospital post surgery, I decided I would sneak out while my husband was at work and drive down the motorway from Clitheroe area to Burnley M&S for Xmas canapés.

Was all going to plan until I came to on a chair having passed out, there was a wonderful first aider who looked after me, I convinced him I would take a cab home and leave my car in Burnley.

I lied and drove home, hid all the shopping and pretended as though nothing had happened.
2 nights later my daughter was home and answered our phone, it was the first aider, I must have given my details.

Busted…..big time and in a lot of ? trouble.

Remembering this incident while reading the thread made me realise how stupid I was.

My strong minded teenage Labrador came as soon as I whistled sat and then turned into the heel position. I know it’s no exciting to most people and I know we’ve much training ahead but this was a joy, especially in open countryside with huge distractions
Merlotgran - reading your account of battery changing on your Dyson another hi spot. I’m needing to look at YouTube to work out how to clean the filters in my new animal dyson

I went to the cinema for the first time since covid hit us, to see the new James Bond film. I loved it, but even if I hadn't, it was just so lovely to see a film on a big screen again.

It's lovely when that happens Curlywhirly

Today I'm spending the whole day with my husband walking in the hills and this evening we are going out for dinner to celebrate our 33rd anniversary.

What a lovely thread this is.

My sister’s phone accidentally sent me an audio clip (she has no idea how it recorded) of an interaction with her kitten.
She was laughing her head off which was wonderful to hear as she has had the most dreadful year imaginable and it’s not over yet . It lifted my spirits no end as I’m very worried for her.

Perhaps someone could have warned us ?Aveline

Just a funny moment this week - my youngest grandson told us that he was terrified of giving birth. He was so relieved to be told that was one thing he never had to worry about! Poor wee boy.

Successfully changed the battery on my Dyson Fluffy vacuum cleaner.

Following the instructions on a YouTube video, I spent a frustrating hour with. Phillips screwdriver trying to remove a concealed screw.

A handy torch finally revealed I’d been screwing away at an empty hole. The screw had either fallen out or never been there.

The second screw obligingly behaved itself! ?

I am not the World's greatest artist but enjoy my weekly class. We are doing some Cubist influenced paintings. I am really enjoying that. We started off by drawing an odd group of objects, then moving round the room drawing on top to create interesting shapes. Now I am painting mine in earth colours . It is very relaxing.

P.S the odd shapes included two ironing boards complete with irons, a tailor's dummy and a wet floor sign. Picasso eat your heart out!!!!

That sounds lovely DanniRae. If only my grandson wasn’t the other side of the world. ☹️

Our very precious grandson (nearly 2 and a half) came and stayed for the first time with us - for the evening and the night - as his mum and dad were going out. It could not of gone any better - he ate his dinner of homemade beef casserole (after grandad assured him that it was the same dinner that the "Paw Patrol" pups eat). He slept all night and woke up in a very cheerful mood and we were very cheerful too knowing he is happy to stay with us smile
