Hoping no-one else has done this.

We need to get things organised for soop's return.

Best of luck Blossoming and Urms not a bad idea for myself, not an issue….yet.

Urmstongran Thu 25-Nov-21 20:31:51

Aw that’s super kind of you Blossoming thank you very much!
I’ll take a look tomorrow. x

Blossoming Thu 25-Nov-21 19:45:17

This is the website for the program Urms, I’m joining the remote group-based sessions which use Zoom. I think it will suit me best in terms of support and swapping tips and ideas. 15 sessions in all spread over about 6 months.

Grandmabatty I had every confidence in the Dr, after he’d done it, he got a cardboard kidney dish, gave me tissues and said ‘blow hard, no, harder, I need to test what I’ve done’ It held, I’ve had this procedure before, first time for that, excellent clinician.

‘Evening All’.

Another resting day here. I put a wash load of towels on and then the drier did it’s magic. Oh and I cleaned the bathroom sink and loo. That was about it today. I’ve been catching up on ‘Saga’ magazines (my stepfather passes them on to me). I read about a podcast that I’m very interested to listen to tomorrow. Only short ones, with no narrative apparently. It’s called ‘Field Recordings’ of say, a song thrush in Cambridgeshire. “Deeply contemplative and calming” says the blurb so I thought I’d share it here.

Sadly muse no joy with the mint sauce. However when I ate my baked potato and tuna this evening I’m sure I experienced the slightest taste of salt on my tongue - that’s a first in a week.

Himself tells me the Christmas lights are going up in our square downstairs and looking pretty in the dark. Not quite the razzle-dazzle of Chicago I expect Granmarie but not too shabby either for Urmston’s town centre!

Well done you Blossoming with your positivity on your upcoming course. I was offered the same this summer and I must chase it up - I think I must have got lost in the system!

Hi to you maddyone ? it’s lovely to have you join us, especially so if you decide to become one of the regulars in soop’s welcoming kitchen.

Dear soop ? you are kindness itself - no wonder we are all drawn to you in here.

Grandmabatty Thu 25-Nov-21 18:47:33

JaxJacky watch that sneezing with your cauterized nose! Take care x

Jaxjacky Thu 25-Nov-21 18:45:07

Sounds very depressing soop wish we could fix it in a flash ?
Booster this afternoon, sitting outside afterwards for 15 minutes was a tad cold!
Sounds wonderful Grannmarie enjoy every minute.
I seem to have acquired a cold overnight, sneezing at 02:30, it will be an early night for me.
Take care all x

Grandmabatty Thu 25-Nov-21 18:26:15

Soop you have so much to contend with and do so with dignity and stoicism. I wish I could help. ?

Charleygirl5 Thu 25-Nov-21 17:26:32

I agree, accept all the help which is forthcoming, soop. Good to hear that somebody local can help re the crowdfunding- I do not have a clue, unfortunately.

I sent off my old driving licence 31st of August (this year!) and I received my new one yesterday. The new mugshot is so faded it can hardly be seen but if the DVLA is happy, I am ecstatic. I would think this will be my last so I will treasure it.

brook2704 Thu 25-Nov-21 16:56:18

Sending gentle hugs and warn wishes soop and sorry to hear you’ve had another bad day I really wish I could make things better for you. Good to here that someone local can help with setting up the crowd funding platform

soop Thu 25-Nov-21 16:47:23

You darling lot warm my heart and lift my spirits.

I am so sorry that many of you are having to deal with family problems including loss or health difficulties. flowers
Our Kitcheners are here to listen. I cannot think of a more caring forum. Not that I am biased. wink

More researching done today. This, without doubt, has been the most disruptive day drop-bot wise. I have spent more time in the bathroom than in any other room in the house.

Have been ordering stuff to enable me to cope with "accidents" and now have a large supply of adult size nappies which are very bulky but equally comfortable.

Mr Soop has been in touch with a tech-savvy pal in the village. He has agreed to call in to help us navigate the crowd funding platforms that may ultimately enable me to have the surgery to re-route my bowel.

In the meantime, I wish to thank you all for your continuing support and kindness. You lot are very special peoples.

It’s freezing today blossoming with snowy showers in the air brrrrrr definitely a day to be in the warm and welcoming kitchen. Good luck with the diabetes prevention programme, it sounds very well organised, I hope it goes well for you

Well done with the gardening today grandmabatty apart from going out to the bins I’ve stayed in today. We had our last garden bin collection this morning, I’m going to ask DH to give it a good clean out and store it away for the winter

Enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner grannmarie and the company. The town sounds beautiful with the twinkling lights

Grannmarie Thu 25-Nov-21 14:39:40

Good morning, lovely Kitchen people, and Happy Thanksgiving from Chicago..its half past 8 and I'm still in my PJs. My sisters and I are being thoroughly spoiled by my brother and sister in law, lots of wining and dining and reminiscing.
Looking forward to the traditional turkey dinner and a river walk with the dog later. Their local town is beautifully decorated for the Holiday season, lovely white lights everywhere.
Thinking of you all, sending love and prayers for all who need/ wish them.

Grandmabatty Thu 25-Nov-21 14:19:17

I could do with a bit of that scrumptious sounding cake! Thank you Nannytopsy. I've spent an hour in the garden clearing leaves and doing a spot of weeding. Tomorrow is the last garden refuse bin collection of the year so I wanted to make good use of it. In addition, we have severe gales forecast so I put away anything that could fly away. It was so cold out! I might make cranberry scones as I fancy something tasty. Chicken and mushroom curry for tea later. I hope you have a good afternoon kitcheners.

muse Thu 25-Nov-21 14:18:50

Hello Maddyone ? Good to see a newcomer.

muse Thu 25-Nov-21 14:13:22

Have a lovely day with your family SueD. The weather is good. Safe journey home.

Hope the nose settles down Jax. Imogen has you and her brilliant mum to watch over her as brook says.

Thank you Blossoming. DD tested negative again today. Three more days to go. She arranged a big click and collect order yesterday so has plenty of food in. She’s worrying about the dog as he needs his walks but she’s no choice but to take him to the local park.

Hope that mint sauce did the trick Urms.

Blossoming Thu 25-Nov-21 11:51:43

Good morning dear Kitcheners. Ooh, apple sponge cake! Thank you NannyTopsy smile. Hope you’re rested and enjoying your visit after that long drive SueD. Is it warm in Inverness today Brook?

I’m being lazy today after yesterday’s physical activity. I’m starting on the diabetes prevention program Healthier You on Monday following a referral from my GP and I have some prep to do, a few videos to watch and some reading material explaining how the program is structured and what to expect. This seems like a good time to be starting and I’m looking forward to it.

This kitchen is a lovely warm place Maddyone, glad you found us.

maddyone Thu 25-Nov-21 11:23:51

Thank you brook. I will visit more often now.

brook2704 Thu 25-Nov-21 11:22:18

Oooh I’m opening up the kitchen this morning and just seen the Mart Berry apple sponge, yummy it’s just in time for the elevensies Nannytopsy thank you so much it worked a treat ? I’ve saved a generous slice for you soop hope you enjoy it later

That’s an awful long drive SueDonim it’s good to hear you’ve arrived safely and I hope you thoroughly enjoy spending time with your DS and family. We’re off for a similar jaunt next week taking down Christmas and Birthday presents for DD1 and family in Cambridge. It’s good to catch up isn’t it

Lovely to see you maddyone please come back as often as you can

maddyone Wed 24-Nov-21 23:31:52

Hope your nosebleeds stop now Jax.
Susan the end of an era flowers
Love to everyone, I rather like the kitchen. I shall come more often. I only ever dropped in occasionally before.
Goodnight.

Nannytopsy Wed 24-Nov-21 23:24:38

Good evening everyone. Just made it to bed so I shall quickly say best wishes to all of you, the happy, the sad, the visitors and the poorlies.
There’s a Mary Berry apple sponge with lemon cream filling on the side for elevenses tomorrow.
Up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire and NNGB to you all x

SueDonim Wed 24-Nov-21 23:15:12

I’m so sorry, Susan. flowers

That’s a double edged sword, Jaxjacky. I guess at least you do now have a diagnosis but will need time to get to grips with it. flowers

Dh and I have driven 520 miles to London today and are now installed in a glamorous (not!) Travelodge while we visit ds2 and family for a few days. Got here at gone 9pm so we’ll see them tomorrow.

Sweet dreams everyone!

brook2704 Wed 24-Nov-21 21:31:16

Sending ? for Imogen Jaxj I hope she’s ok with the diagnosis and not too self conscious or worried about it and takes it in her stride. She’s got such a strong loving family to support her - I hope she’ll be fine.

One step at a time grannysomerset pleased things seem a little bit more settled with your DH

Urmstongran Wed 24-Nov-21 21:06:44

‘Evening All’.

Another very quiet resting up day here again. Day 8. Nothing new to report. Oh yes, I put the winter duvet on the bed at lunchtime. And chatted to my stepfather.

Love to everyone in the kitchen tonight. x
Back to Netflix ...

Blossoming Wed 24-Nov-21 20:54:20

Good evening lovely Kitcheners, trying to catch up after a busy day. I’m glad things are settling down GrannySomerset . Sorry for your loss Susan. Hope your daughter is OK Muse and Mr.M is feeling better. Hope the nose is now sorted Jaxjacky and no more nose bleeds. Good that Imogen has a diagnosis, the family seem to be managing it well.

I had to get up early as we were expecting a delivery and Mr. B was off out to do the shopping. I used my exercise bike, tidied the kitchen, then put the shopping away after Mr. B got back. Then I put a wash on, packed and put away some stuff from the bakery in the freezer, received 3 more Amazon packages, sorted out the Amazon stuff, lugged bathroom stuff upstairs and put it away, now worn out but feeling pleased with myself grin. All these mundane tasks are a big deal for me. I will be resting tomorrow. Lovely lentil and bacon soup for supper with fresh wholemeal bread. Feeling warm and sleepy now.

Hope I haven’t missed anyone out, TOYA.
