I should have added a thank you to Kalu
The hospital staff were fantastic. They were kind, considerate and (at times) long suffering. I spent most of the night prior to surgery perched on the commode. There were several horrendous "accidents"...which were dealt with promptly and with understanding.
Mr James McCourtney the colo/rectal surgeon, is marvellous. The best!
The rectal prolapse is "big" and full thickness. It will not shrink. Bandings cannot cure it. I therefore need a Colostomy. I will go through hell and high water to regain some quality of life. The last ten years have been blighted by the ongoingness of the aptly named "drop bot".
Mr McCourtney is prepared to perform the surgery. I was thrilled when he said so. But, we need to find £25000 first. At that point, I thought my heart would break. If I go back on the NHS waiting list, I shall have a very long wait. The multitude of patients with life threatening conditions need help urgently. This I appreciate and no matter what, I need to wait in line. At 80, I would love to spend the remaining time Mr Soop have, feeling able to enjoy life's simple pleasures.
So, we have a lot of serious talking to do. There will be a solution. I remain hopeful.
Forgive me please for not being fully aware of all that is happening in the kitchen. I shall gradually manage to catch up. In the meantime, Heartfelt thank yous to the best of Gransnet. You are kindness personified.
