brook my SIL tested positive with a both lateral flow and PCR on Saturday. Today his lateral flow test was negative.
Hopefully he has a mild dose, as I hope you have.

Soop's wonderful, warm and welcoming kitchen
(1001 Posts)Hoping no-one else has done this.
We need to get things organised for soop's return.
Thanks to the kind grans who wished me well. I had my first consultation with dr Google tonight and rather wished I hadn’t,
Have taken a sleeping pill ? and hope to get some sleep.
Tomorrow is another day and I am having my ears hoovered.
Something to look forward to.
Greetings to you all and sleep tight ?
That’s brilliant news SueD I really hope you have the best possible family time together, you thoroughly deserve it - enjoy every minute
Thank you all for your kind messages of support, it means a lot
I’ve been so busy and not had time to look at GN much, so I don’t think I can catch up with you all individually!
Main news is that I have my eldest under my roof for the first time since 2018! He flew in today from the US, travelling in on a flight where my youngest’s friend was working as cabin crew. He may have been upgraded and received some extra goodies, as a result.
. My two girls are here and the two youngest grandchildren, so life is good right now. ❤️
Take care everyone! Xx
brook I’m so sorry that you’ve tested positive, I hope it is a mild case and that your family stay clear and that you and grandmajean can have the Christmas that you’ve been hoping for.
.... and my grandparents started married life in Summerlee cottages!
Granmarie I am originally from Lanarkshire !
Good evening lovely Kitcheners. The garden is looking much better now for a tidy up. I’m feeling much better for having managed some physical activity and 55 minutes on the exercise cycle. Not all in one go, I hasten to add! 20 minutes is my limit but I can do more than one session a day. I still haven’t written the cards, I’ve decided to do them at the weekend. I’m showered and ready for bed, feeling warm and sleepy so it’s goodnight from me. Sending love and healing to you all, TOYA
‘Evening All’.
We picked the grandchildren up from school, took them home for a bowl of soup & chivvied them into their swim wear and onesies. In the car & off to the leisure centre for their lessons.
L’il Miss: “Grandma the pool won’t be open on Christmas will it?”
Me: “No sweetheart it will be closed as everyone likes to be at home to eat their Christmas dinner”
A pause.
Then, L’il Miss: “no sprouts for me”
Grandmajean, wishing your DGD a speedy recovery to full health. ?
Good evening, lovely Kitchen people, I'm popping in to catch up , and to wish Soop well for the surgeon's telephone consultation tomorrow, things are really moving along now.
I hope things work out for you, Silverlining.
Annie and Callie, what gorgeous girls, they both look very well cared for and contented.
I am helping with childcare for DS1's family next week, which means that I will also enjoy the company of Granddog!
Aww, Brook, so sorry that you've tested positive, but glad that your symptoms are mild. Wishing you a speedy recovery to full health, hoping no one else in the family catches it. DGS1 got Covid in August when the schools went back, but fortunately the rest of the family managed to avoid it.
Here in Lanarkshire the new variant is spreading, a local primary school has closed and my sister's work night out has been cancelled at short notice. Please take care out there.
Blossoming, I love your philosophy, it reminds me of The Serenity Prayer, "...change the things I can...". Well done you!
Singingnutty, you are a very good friend to those ladies!
Stay safe and warm, lovely people, TOYA, kind regards to all especially those I haven't mentioned by name. NNGB.
So far they’re ok thanks gillgran so keeping fingers crossed for them ?
Very much hoping the rest of the family don’t get it grandmajean and your family celebrations can go ahead as planned
Silverlining I hope something can be sorted out for you ?
I sympathise Silverlining - impossible to get much needed appointments these difficult days.
soop, I hope your consultation call goes well tomorrow, & that it will mean one more step forward for you.
Oh, you guessed that your PCR would be positive, brook, I hope your symptoms continue to be mild. Have your Cambridge family escaped the virus?
As you may remember our DD & family live in that lovely city, with both DGC in school now they seem to be having lots of testing, (each time means a day or so off school, until the (negative) results come back!
They break up for Christmas tomorrow.! Seems early, doesn't it? Our other DGC finish end of next week.
Warm wishes to you all.
Charleygirl Sweetie Pie continues to pop in whensoever she wishes. When she does, she is greeted warmly and enjoys a banquet (or two).
Grandmajean It's lovely to see you here in the kitchen. Wishing your granddaughter a speedy and full recovery.
I really do need to attend to a few jobs aboot the hoos. It's dark outside. The day has appeared to be jet propelled. I am always a bit behind, especially where daily chores are concerned. Boring!
Until tomorrow.

Thank you for your kindness Soop
silverlining48 I sympathise with you. Needing surgery at this difficult time (with an overstretched NHS and lack of funds) is beyond stressful. I wish you a satisfactory outcome. The patience of several saints will be needed. I will gladly share my experiences with you if you think I can help you along the way.
Thank you for your concern folks re my GD's Covid . She is fine - just a headache. We all hope nobody else in the family gets it as it would scupper the family Christmas meal here on the 18th. In the great scheme of things that is trivial and can be rearranged . Health is what matters.
Sorry to hear your resultBrook I am so glad you are not suffering too badly. Those jabs are doing the trick
You didn't miss me Doodle so thank you for your good wishes too.
Nice to see you posting here Ena Sharples I remember that lady well enjoying her milk stout and putting the world to rights !
Thinking of you Soop - hope the chat with the consultant goes well.
Warm greetings to anyone I've missed . Have read all the posts and hope the rest of the day is as pleasant as possible.
soop between you and me we will share the kind of care Annie deserves. An animal should not be so stressed when trying desperately to rest her eyes.
soop I agree, you are like me and move at your fastest out of the dental surgery.
Has Sweetie pie popped by recently? It cannot be easy living in the forest.
I havnt got dressed today, still in pjs so feel just a tiny bit guilty but have been busy spending all of today ( and the last week) trying to get myself referred for an operation. Have been told it’s urgent though not life threatening just life changing.
The NHS waiting list is counted in years so looking fir alternatives. All eye wateringly expensive.
Will treat myself to something chocolate related and think it out again.
Glad dentist went well Soop. I visited mine this week and like you was outside in a flash. What a relief.
BlueBalou Annie appears to be in need of proper care and attention. She looks really stressed.
singingnutty I also hope for a happy and healthy outcome for both of your dear friends.
Dentist visit over and done with. Not a wince from yours truly. That's because nothing needed drilling or prodding or scraping. I was out of the chair in the blink of an eye when the dentist said...see you again in six months.
brook Us lot trust that your symptoms remain on the mild side. Plenty of rest and all good wishes for a speedy recovery.
You were pretty sure anyway brook, hopefully it’ll stay as is until it pushes off, not towards your DH.
I admire your resolve Blossoming, but even more your execution, you’ve made me try to be less of a ‘putter offer’. In fact today I’ve nearly achieved my list of things to do, some printing and cards to write, I may deliberately leave the cards until tomorrow when our tree arrives.
DD just nipped in to drop Imogen’s Christmas present, a bike, it’s in the kitchen but will be stored at our friend’s garage 2 minutes away. There will be a note to unwrap on the day with clues, similarly Fin’s bike, which is in our shed, only room for the one. DD and friend are now going for a spa weekend in Cardiff as London is off.
Catch up later.
Hope the dentist appointment is ok soop , never pleasant but always necessary
It sounds like there’s lots planned for next year Blue I really wish you all the very best for a new start and hope all goes well
My PCR test result came through early this morning, unfortunately it’s positive so I’ll not be going out anywhere for a while. Luckily my symptoms are very mild so that’s good and up to now DH is still testing negative. Thank you all for your kind messages and hope anyone else with covid or friends and family with it makes a speedy recovery
Urms I love the idea of popping down to the bar for a drink. Didn’t think about that when we moved here. ?
singingnutty nice to see you. Thank you for some words of encouragement for those waiting PCR tests.
Sorry to hear about your friends and hope the prompt treatment helps.
grandmajean hope your DGD and family are ok and it is only a mild case.
jaxjacky good news about the results.
brook fingers crossed for you.
soop hope all goes well with the consultant call Friday. You deserve the best outcome.
bluebalou Annie looks very regal and elegant though from what you say about her normal pose, that may not be the case ?
blossoming hope you feel stronger soon.
Hello to everyone I’ve missed, hope those who are poorly feel better soon.
TOYA ?
