Hand cream

Thanks everyone Ive brought working hands and some cotton gloves for overnight. I too have a L'Occitane one which I got as a present which smells lovely but its very expensive. But im using a lot more hand cream now which I didnt before. Thanks once again.?

The best I’ve found is by Balance Me, it costs around £14. I have eczema so struggle with perfumed ones. This one is made with natural ingredients and keeps my hands soft and comfortable.

Nivea Q10 anti age. Got me through all the hand washing in lockdown. Have some upstairs, downstairs and in every bag! Also use Body Shop Hemp at night only - so it goes a bit further.

Sorry Neutrogena hand cream

Neutrons a Norwegian formula hand cream concentrated, unscented works well for me. Prices vary from £3-4 depending where you buy it. Boots, Superdrug’s, savers or major supermarkets

Try and find a hand cream that contains glycerin. If that is not possible buy glycerin and rose water and mix them using two tablespoons glycerin to one of rosewater. This makes a runny lotion, but when your skin is as dry as you describe it will be absorbed practically instantly.

If you drink coffee, save the used grounds and rub them on your hands once the grounds have cooled down. This will feel greasy, but usually does not stain anything you touch afterwards.

Aveeno for everyday. Great for legs too . Occitaine rose hand cream if splashing out

When I was nursing I used atrixo.

I use the Norwegian formula Fishermans hand cream as well and on my legs Ameloirate which is a bit more expensive but lasts ages and certainly keeps them smooth and crack free.

Another vote for the Body Shop's Hemp hand protector, not cheap but lasts ages

I swear by the Clarins hand cream, at £23 for a large tube that lasts me almost a year as a little goes along way , it also prevents age spots etc .

I would also recommend Clarins Hand & Nail Treatment.

I wouldn’t use anything else.

I’ve used various ones over the years but still go back to Clarins, usually as a Christmas gift it lasts me the year. Vital is also to hydrate your body and skin, if you can drink at least 2 litres of water per day. When I don’t do this I really notice how dry my skin is.

I like Neutrogena Norwegian formula too. Inexpensive, effective and lasts ages. Also comes in unscented which I prefer. Everything seems way too perfumed to me these days, apart from perfume, funnily enough, which doesn't seem to last as long as it used to. ?

I'm another fan of Nursem handcream, use it on my feet as well, it stops my heels getting cracked and sore when I wear socks in the winter.

i would say start at poundland or similar, b&m, savers etc.
also aldi and lidl do good hand creams at reasonable price.
buy a few from these places and blind test them, maybe at night on going to bed. so you are not prejudiced by knowing which has an expensive label, where you are paying for the advertising.
most ingredients are pretty standard. packaging, branding varies. and adds enormous price.

O’Keefes is the best I’ve found. My fingertips got cracked and sore and they were soothed within a day or two. I always keep a tub handy

Also E45 cream is good for getting rid of spots. I would swear by it.

Another vote for Body Shop Hemp hand cream...it's one of the few that consistently works for me.
Another I've tried is Uriage 'repairing hand cream', quite runny but absorbs well and is very effective.

Since I started using goats milk soap I have not needed hand cream. My hands are really smooth and soft despite constant washing. Prior to that I’ve used Lidl’s Cien which contains almond oil and Shea butter. Also one from Boots with rose hips.

Having tried almost every hand care product over the years I can honestly say the Nursem hand cream knocks spots of everything. Love the fact they provide free products to Nurses and Midwives, a promise they made when on Dragons Den and securing their backing.

My long time favourite is Lotil cream from Boots or online. It is very absorbent and non greasy.
