Thank heavens he was passing.

A few years ago we were walking the dog in a country lane and came upon a house where the fire alarm was going off. We knocked on the door but no answer. My husband opened the side gate and ran around the back. Thank goodness the owner had left the back door open so we opened it and shouted - out ran the most terrified lurcher. My husband was able to put the fire out and we used the home phone to call the owner's mobile. She was at the supermarket shopping and had left a candle burning under a shelf in the kitchen. She said as the fire was out she would finish her shopping!!!! We sat with the dog until she got home.

It was a shocking situation but we were so glad we were walking by for the poor dogs sake.

A real hero! Poor animals must have been terrified.

Blossoming

How lucky that he was passing!

Absolutely, Blossoming!

It could have been an utter disaster.

Love this story. A jogger in USA, passed a house and noticed it was on fire. He rang the doorbell and it was one of those where the owners can answer even though they're not home. He quickly explained the problem, owner gave him the password and he was able to access the premises and save all the animals.
