Good morning from a frosty Leicestershire.

Hope your son is just having a blip Scentia. As Marydoll says we can only listen.

Need to pop into town today so will have coffee out then more dog walking. The dog seems to have got over his night in hospital. Looking after someelses dog is such a responsibility.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from North Wales. Very cold this morning up here on the hills. I will venture out eventually.
My booster jab isn't due till 30th November. My son aged 50 had his last week so we are well behind Harrogate.
Envious of GNs who have new babies in the family
Such a special time.
My youngest GC is 2 and the eldest 18.
Hope everyone has a good day and ? to those who are not well or have worries.

Good morning from a bright, breezy Cornwall. Looks as though it won't be as windy as yesterday but probably colder.
A drive out somewhere today.
Love to all ? x

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and we have a rose pink and apricot sky to the east. I can see the Pennines quite clearly - always a good sign.

I slept really well, a solid eight hours with no getting up in the night. I’ve made my first cuppa as Himself is still snoozing. I am still chesty but although I could cough I don’t want to IYKWIM as my ribs hurt. No sense of smell yet - I’ve just stuck my nose in the coffee jar and inhaled deeply. Nada. Which (natch) means no taste to my food today. Dispiriting.

Just resting, watching ‘Saul’ on Netflix all day (I will be in the bedroom as I try to keep mostly separate from Himself) is today’s plan of (non) action.

A hand grenade thrown into your family Scentia a shock I imagine. I hope the situation resolves itself. FWIW I’m in the camp that believes a mum can only be as happy as her unhappiest child.

Enjoy Monday all who can. x

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Nov-21 07:59:31

Morning all

It looks rather nippy outside.

Off to the gym this morning, then I have some bits to pick up from Smyths Toyshop. I should also do some ironing…

(((hugs))) to all in need

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Grandmadinasaur I remember when I had my first baby, 6 weeks prem , so when I came out of hospital without him, I wanted to go straight to my mums. It lessens the pain of walking into your own house, without your precious child. X
Hopefully baby will be home soon. ?

Grandmajean Mon 22-Nov-21 07:53:52

Good morning from Cheshire.
Feels chilly.
Lots of garden tidying and bulb planting going on. Not here ! I wish I liked gardening in but I only like to admire the results. Having said that , I may go to the garden centre today as want a few gifts for others.
Hope your son's family problems are temporary ,Scentia .

Good morning all from frosty Harrogate
Today is my catch up day with school friend and sisters. My friend and I haven’t met up for such a long time. We usually meet up 2 or 3 times a year by taking the train to Carlisle, Newcastle or Edinburgh. Her trains are getting more and more limited. I was hoping for a meet up in Carlisle (not too crowded city) but it might have to be Edinburgh, a wee bit crowded for just now. Probably spend our time at the National Gallery.
Ah well, we’ll see what happens!!
Hope all those not well feel better soon
Have a great day everyone!

Gingster Mon 22-Nov-21 07:47:45

Good morning all and it’s jolly chilly!

Yesterday was lovely with some of the family round for lunch. We were able to sit around the table (as there was only 10 of us, ) , instead of balancing food on laps. The 4 teenagers were mainly on their phones. Would put them down when told to , only to be on them again 2 minutes later. There’s always something they must “look at” …….. apparently checking homework deadlines, checking football upcoming football matches, booking college appointments etc etc. How DID we manage without them.? ?

Today I have my Chiming class , rehearsing for the Xmas U3A concert.?

Sorry to hear about your son’s troubles Scentia . Hopefully just a blip ?

How interesting to hear some of the history of your Church GrandMattie. ?.

Wishing you all a painfree, worry free day , - if there is such a thing.?

Grandmabatty Mon 22-Nov-21 07:46:05

Good morning all from a chilly Polmont where it's -1°. There's a lovely clear sky just beginning to lighten.
Scentia I hope your son sorts out his problems and talks to you. It must be a worry for you.
Yesterday we had family breakfast. The food was nice, my mother was not. She is a difficult woman and usually spoils any happy event and so it proved yesterday with numerous nasty comments and digs. I just disengage most of the time. Later on, I visited my daughter and son-in-law and their family of four. The newest member is very sweet. So small with a gorgeous head of dark hair. His big brother was overwhelmed by the visitors but very pleased with the dinosaurs grandma brought him. So I've had my first cuddle of my latest grandson -the first of many I'm sure.
Today I'm collecting boy wonder from the playgroup and giving him lunch. Leek and potato soup and a piece of chocolate cake should do nicely. I'll potter about and tidy up as I didn't do much at the weekend. I hope all of you have a good day.

Susan56 Mon 22-Nov-21 07:43:49

Scentia?

Susan56 Mon 22-Nov-21 07:42:37

Good morning from Staffordshire. Very icy this morning but cars and lorries still hurtling along on the motorway.

DD has bought a play pass for DGS for the Wacky Warehouse so we will be going there today. A bit chilly for the park and he still needs to burn some energy off.

Wishing everyone the best day possible??

brook2704 Mon 22-Nov-21 07:42:19

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark with a cold cloudy day forecast
Hoping your DS is ok and talking about things helps Scentia, you just want them to be happy don’t you and worry when they’re not.
Nothing planned for today. I’ll be continuing the garden tidy up before the frost sets in and the ground freezes. DH is off to work this morning but we might go out later when he’s back
Well done with the ballet BlueSapphire something to be proud of
Hoping baby will be home very soon grandmadinosaur
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Harris27 Mon 22-Nov-21 07:37:28

Had busy weekend and son got keys for first house day before his birthday so plenty to do. I’ve got a day off on Friday so will hopefully complete my Christmas shopping. Must get ahead as I work right up till the dec 23rd and like the build up working with children. Hope all have a good day.

Marydoll Mon 22-Nov-21 07:36:27

Scentia, all you can do is listen. ?

Grandmadinosaur Mon 22-Nov-21 07:31:45

Good morning from a dry but chilly East Yorkshire. Alexa wakes us up and gives us the temperature . 3 degrees brrr!

Yesterday we had DS and dgs coming for lunch. We had popped out for a coffee and he messaged to say DIL was coming home. I thought she would want to go straight home but no she wanted to come and join us at lunch . Well after 2 weeks of hospital food who wouldn’t ?. It was lovely to have her home but bittersweet as baby is still in hospital. She is making good progress and should only be a few days and she will be home too.

Today I haven’t any plans. After the last few days I take them as they come.

Scentia sorry to hear your news. A worry for you - I always say children bring more worries the older they get.

What interesting facts Grandmattie the only line I know about our church is that it’s mentioned in the Doomsday Book.

Have a good day everyone.
Take care.

cornergran Mon 22-Nov-21 07:27:13

Morning Mick, morning All from a clear, cold corner of Somerset.

Bus to town this morning for some bits and a look at the sea. Admin this afternoon. A decent enough day.

Sounds as if you need to train a bulb planter marydoll, look after yourself. If not news you were expecting scentia that would have been a shock. The same thing happened here a few years back, left us reeling for a while. Your son will be pleased to see you I’m sure.

Take care everyone. Special thoughts to all with heavy hearts. Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Marydoll Mon 22-Nov-21 07:08:58

Good morning all, from a very chilly Glasgow, its -1°here. Brrrrrr.

Nothing planned for today. I had hoped to tidy up the garden yesterday, but just couldn't summon up the energy. I have a stash of bulbs, which should have been planted and DHs duties only stretch to grass cutting! Let's see what today brings!

Wishing Granmarie a safe trip to the Windy City and a great time with family.
Hoping all the new babies and mums are doing well.

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Pantglas2 Mon 22-Nov-21 07:06:03

Morning all from a dark and dry north Wales where I’m enjoying the chamberpot of piping hot tea and marvelling at the wonders of modern science and the ability of the booster jab to give me an extra hour of sleep ? each morning ?

Hopping on the bus later to get a few bits and bobs in Llandudno and hopefully pop in to DD office for a cuddle and a coffee ?. Don’t see her that often as she’s still busy with holiday bookings although we speak and message back and forth.

Hope your son is simply having a break Scentia - we never stop worrying about them do we? ?

Will pop in later and read about your doings folks....?

mumofmadboys Mon 22-Nov-21 07:02:56

Good morning all. Cold here in Cumbria. Table tennis this morning, bridge match tonight online. Housework in between! Hope it is a temporary problem with your DS and wife Scentia.

Beechnut Mon 22-Nov-21 06:57:11

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it’s very frosty with the glow to the east.

I shall go out and wrap my olive tree this morning. It’s in a pot and is now to heavy for me to lift into the greenhouse. I spent quite a while in the garden yesterday and came in when I started to feel chilly. My back knows about it!

I had planned to go and look at furniture this morning but I was messaged last night and am now expecting some visitors who I shall be very pleased to see.

Take care all ??

Scentia Mon 22-Nov-21 06:54:03

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is freezing ?
Had a call from DS last night saying he has left his wife and is in a hotel so can he come and stay for a while, I hope he feels he can talk about it tonight and it is just a temporary thing?
Off on Nanna duties shortly, we are going to see my sister.
I love the idea of advent windows Grandmattie I will do that on our estate next year.?
Take care everyone and keep warm??

BlueSapphire Mon 22-Nov-21 06:23:37

Good morning from a moonlit but dry Northampton (2°C). Forecast to be a sunny cold day.

Yoga this morning, then a bit of tidying up, and then I must settle down with my book as it is book club on Wednesday and I am only a third of the way through it.

Our ballet went well yesterday; glad to see that I do not feature much on the video! The tap dancers performed first, before us, and it was fascinating watching the precision of their footwork. Then coffee and cakes and a quiz which I am glad to say our team romped away with won. Our prize was a large tin of chocolates which we shared out.

Hoping Monday is kind to us.

BlueBalou Mon 22-Nov-21 06:20:54

Good morning from frosty Wiltshire, I’m hoping for a sunny day.......
DH lugged my less frost-hardy plants into the unseated greenhouse yesterday (I’ve been asking him to do this for 3 weeks ?) so hopefully they’ll survive the winter.
Cracking on with house selling prep again today (and for the foreseeable future I gues ☹️) but needs must.
DH spent 7 hours sorting through a pile of box files yesterday, he chucked out a few bits of paper I think, but it didn’t make much impact on the state of the office he’s never used because he filled it with crap
I hope all the poorly GNs are feeling better, and that everyone has a good week x

grandMattie Mon 22-Nov-21 06:06:47

Good morning from a dark, chilly and drizzly E Kent.
The sermon was interesting yesterday - apparently, Edward the Confessor worshipped in our church (or what was there then) before tootling off to build Westminster Abbey; St. Margaret of Scotland was associated and old Thomas a Beckett stopped in the church on the way from Dover to Canterbury to meet his death! Wow! I didn’t know that…
Just cleaning today as it’s Monday. I’ve got a load of stuff to prepare for my craft group on Wednesday, and for Sunday school the following weekend. We’ve got an Advent window to get ready with the children.
Hope all those in any sort of distress have a quiet, peaceful day. Carpe diem. ???☀️??
