I’ll Shut up now. ??
Good Morning Wednesday 29th April 2026
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, dry and no doubt cold outside here in brackley .
Today for me is housework catch up , no plan s to travel anywhere today .
I intend to get more Xmas stamps when I do go out .
Take Care,
Mick
I’ll Shut up now. ??
It sounds like you’re over the worst Urmstongran, hope the improvement continues
Thank you Blossoming I do think you’re right, thankfully. My stepfather has just rung me and said “it takes 3 days to arrive and then 3 days to go away”. I’m on Day 6. Wisdom from the wise it seems!
?
hope you’ve changed from a summer duvet/have the heating on Urms
Nope! Honestly Nannagarra this south facing apartment is so warm in the sunshine behind glass in our main room! I sat on the sofa earlier whilst Himself had gone down to do some shopping and I was melting, so I took off my cardigan! I even opened a window. We joke and say we will pass our heating money to Mr. O’Leary for our flights to Spain in January!
Good wishes to everyone on this treasured thread
Aw, what a lovely way of putting it GrannySomerset! Hope your visit goes well. x
Good morning all from Sunnyside Lancashire coast. Going to get some washing outside, so nice.
Pleasant evening out with friend and meal on Saturday but afflicted that night with the worst cramp I have ever experienced, actually screaming with the pain. Every time I thought it had subsided, it kicked off again. Hard to believe two glasses of wine brought it on, but I hardly drink now.
My brother in law is seriously ill in the south but my DD visits regularly, taking his companion, who is on oxygen, so quite a business.
Thoughts to GrannySomerset Scentia and anyone with worries.
Good morning all from a very sunny W Kent. Day at home, just sorting out some online purchases that need returning, must remember not to buy trousers online. Good wishes to all.
Your daughter is very brave Brook ?
Hoping your visit goes OK later grannysomerset and pleased you’re feeling a bit better
Talking of Santa lists, DD2 had made an early start on getting what she thought 8year old DGS he wanted, the usual Lego, Harry Potter stuff and books etc but was a bit taken aback when the top of the list was a Ukelele! ?
Good morning from Sefton where there has been an overnight frost. As we left the Lake District yesterday after an indulgent break the gritters were out in force on the motorways. Grange Over Sands reminded me of Gelisajams whose posts I used to look forward to on this thread.
I hope you’ve changed from a summer duvet/have the heating on Urms. Keep cosy and get well soon.
Mention of two new babies, Grandmabatty and Grandmadinosaur, leaves a warm glow. May your son’s situation, Scentia, be no more than a temporary blip and may your DH be more settled now GrannySomerset. Glad normality is resuming for you and your DH, Jaxjacky.
A day of catching up and a swim will occupy me.
Sending comforting hugs, a smile and the sight of a flamingo to you all.
???
Good morning all from cold and frosty Lancashire. The sunshine will soon burn off the frost. I don’t think I’ll be going for a walk today as it’s quite slippery in places where the sun doesn’t reach at this time of year,
I’m glad you saw the new arrival Grandmabatty, Great that your daughter is home Grandmadinosaur, hope the little one soon joins her. It sounds like you’re over the worst Urmstongran, hope the improvement continues.
What a busy and talented bunch of grans you all are, I feel so lazy sitting here drinking tea in my warm bed. I must get up and moving now, have a Happy Monday all ???
Good morning from the Scottish Borders where the mercury has dropped to minus 1. It may be too late for the poor geraniums.
I think you have adopted Dexter Dragonfly
I am going to try to give some old stuff to charity today. The problem here is they won't accept anything less than perfect and you have to book a slot. (sigh)
I may have sold 2 old radiators though, online. They are cast iron but the salvage place didn't want them.
This de-cluttering lark is not easy. I begin to understand why people are tempted to chuck it all in a skip.
If coming to Edinburgh Gwenisgreat I would recommend the Portrait gallery for a nice spacious cafe and nice pictures the others are very busy right now. The Christmas market is on in what was Princes St Gardens and there was a queue when my French visitors went.
When they have finished hanging my paintings on the newly decorated walls, I'm taking them (the French) to one of our stately piles this afternoon.
Thinking of Scentia today.
Visitors allowed at DH’s nursing home so will go this afternoon and hope he will be speaking to me.
Back slowly improving so will tackle laundry pile and sort out the flowers in the house - kind friends have brought several bunches and they need attention and amalgamating. I must feel better for this to be the top of my list.
Beautiful morning helps the spirits too. Good wishes to everyone on this treasured thread.
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where it was -1C at 7am and everything is still frosted up now. It was lightly frosty yesterday morning too so I had to defrost the car windscreen before I tootled off to the local home centre to get bits and bobs for the house. I took the opportunity to inspect the big new Lidl's next to it, an emporium I haven't entered since we wintered in Spain. It's much the same in this one with the centre aisle frequented mostly by the gents. Pleased to see it had my beloved asparagus and British meat but deducted marks for no free-range chicken.
I got in some gardening in the afternoon, lifting turf and planting out a shrub. Which is probably why my back is complaining this morning especially as I didn't do my usual lying on the floor for a while when I came in from the garden.
Today is housework and laundry and a bit of reading this afternoon .
The best possible day to you all.
Good morning from a cold but bright Essex by the sea.
DH has gone to clean his boat, it is out of the water at the moment, armed with a flask of soup and another of coffee. He will need a hot shower when he returns this afternoon.
Housework for me this morning and cross stitch this afternoon.
Have the best Monday you can everyone xxx
Greyduster our GS allegedly made a list, then ‘lost it’, he is only 8’ but the last one in the family I need to buy for.
Good morning all from a frosty Co Armagh !
It was the start of porridge for breakfast this morning , but I forgot to put the banana in! Raw banana isn’t quite the same
When I got up (again!) for a bathroom visit in the night I could see garden was white over here in Staffs. Keep fit this morning-must wrap up we do a lot outside!
Oh Scentia-tough times!
OP we bought a wheeled tray for under big pots (and sunshade base)-brilliant, can move things round more easily.
Good morning from a dry, sunny NE.
I had a quiet day yesterday, watched some TV and made carrot and coriander soup.
DD and SIL returned in the evening and we had dinner together.
I must do some tidying up today and gather papers together as the financial advisor is coming tomorrow.
Take care all you poorly people.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Its very cold but bright in South Yorkshire this morning. We had a nice walk in the woods near DD’s yesterday and called in at theirs for coffee. Badgered GS to give us his Christmas list but it seems to be very low down on his list of priorities at the moment. “I’m still thinking” was his response! At this rate he will end up with a pair of socks and a selection box! Shopping for us today and a tidy up.
Scentia I hope your son and his wife just need a bit of space and can sort out their difficulties. Not easy is it??
Have a the best day you can, folks.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning all. As dragonfly says, North Leicestershire is frosty but it's bright too.
Hairdresser for me this morning but I intend to watch Kevin Sinfield run through our village as he Goes The Extra Mile for MND. This has been a charity close to our hearts since a friend of DD2 was diagnosed at the shockingly young age of 37.
Scentia, I hope your son's break is short lived. Been there a couple of times with ours - it's a worrying time.
Good morning from a frosty Black country, very white over but the sun is breaking through.
Really must do some housework the duster thinks I'm on strike.
Thoughts with missing posters and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Monday and may you all find some ?.
Good morning everyone. Very chilly here in N. Bucks but the sun is doing its best to warm us a little.
Morning at home with a few jobs to do and preparation for our first WI craft meeting this afternoon.
Kind thoughts to all with worries and illness. Hope everyone finds a smile in their day.
Good morning Mick, morning all from cold and frosty South Lanarkshire.
Sorry to hear about your son, Scentia.
Dental check up this morning then we go over to DD’s in time for the girls coming home from school, it will be good to see them all.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.
Good morning all from any icy S Hants. MrJ flew back last night from Belfast, normality resumed.
Sorry to hear about your son Scentia, hopefully a minor interlude.
Well done on the ballet BlueBelle sounds like a fun time!
Hoping those poorly are improving and you all have a gentle day. ??
