I’ve had a couple of lockups, but switched off the IPad and reloaded and it returned to normal, I have had one or two flying pop ups in the last couple of days too, similar on some other sites too, nothing major.

No good complaining seacliff because apparently its our fault !!

I had trouble a couple of nights ago. Would've load, got error message , just nothing works properly. This has happened a few times recently only on this site.

Exactly right Mapleleaf

Yes, other web sites will load but GN won’t, so it’s not an issue at our end, even though it’s probably more convenient for GN to say it is! This is intermittent, but happening more frequently. I see quite a few double posts on this thread, too, which is a problem often mentioned.

Nanna8 - is it only GN that's affected or other websites too?

Luckily I'm not having any problems. I'm on my smart phone. There can be all sorts of reasons why a computer might be having I ternet connection problems.

If it is only GN then run a spyware and virus check. Have a look at your firewall settings too, it could be trying to stop GN fir some reason. Whitelist GN. Check your Internet connections. Refresh them.

If it's all of your Internet then do the above and if there's no improvement then I would contact your internet supplier. You may need to change the channel.

I assume you are on WiFi. If you have a cable you can connect then disable WiFi and see if using the cable improves the connection. If so, then it's probably a WiFi problem. Interference etc. Is it better if you stand right next to the modem? Also, boosters can be very helpful. We use them upstairs and in the kitchen in order to have WiFi in the garden.

Lots of questions there I know but we have had connection problems too in the past. I'm no expert but maybe there's something to help you above.

Exact.y what happened to me Monica I left it to post itself as it was taking so long I DEFINITELY only pressed once but it arrived twice
But Lilygransnet said it’s our fault and nothing to be done at their end
It’s exasperating just glad I m not alone
We were told to empty our caches, I did, and it’s still happening no difference at all

Come on GN please do something

Ailidh Thu 25-Nov-21 07:26:46

I couldn't get on at all for a couple of hours last night. UK.

M0nica Thu 25-Nov-21 06:58:02

Now how that happened I do not know. The message was so slow loading, I opened GN on another tab to leave it to post while I read other threads.

When I came back to it, it had timed out (Error 504) and posted twice!

Meanwhile I had read and instantly responded to another thread on another tab!

I have been having problems for weeks. Posts slow loading and the site dropping off to be replaced by the error message saying 'check site address, or site unavailable.

I am not having a problem with any other site, and that includes Facebook and the news, or any other high volume site.

This has been going on for months and months, and the service GN provide is intermittent - that is the best way to explain it.

The site is simply crap.

It’s not Australia nanna8 we have been complaining for days but have been told by GN it’s ‘our fault’
The last message I got was that it was nothing to do at their end we need to empty our caches well I ve done that and I still find it’s no different
It takes ages to post and often posts twice or comes up with an error message

GN if you’re reading it’s not us it’s a problem at your end

nanna8, it's fine here, so I'd suspect a problem at your end. If you're on a PC or laptop why not try a restart?

nanna8 Thu 25-Nov-21 05:57:49

Is it Australia and our hopeless internet or is it gransnet? I can’t read messages and the whole site seems slower than usual. Usually it is quite quick, bearing in mind it is low traffic and the middle of the night for those in the UK. Admittedly Australia is still in the dark ages with internet speeds but this is even worse than usual.
