Sharbat Gula, at six, had to flee and from her village which was being bombed by the Soviet Union in 1984.
She recently asked for help to leave Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover of the country in August and Italy stepped up and offered her a home.
After all she has had to live through, may she have a peaceful life from now on

For years she was pinned up on a classroom wall where I worked, for the children to compare her life with theirs.

Heart breaking to think that in the intervening nearly 40 years nothing has changed - in fact it's worse sad
