I'm in central Scotland and it isn't too bad at the moment. I'm concerned for my son's girlfriend's parents in Aberdeen though. I've put away everything that is liable to fly. The bins are wedged together and the car is in the drive. I can do no more. How is it where you are?

Power back on now in North East, after 14 hours. I cant believe how much I love electricity!

A thick fall of snow here in Birmingham. We weren't expecting that! ❄️

My daughter in West Yorkshire was planning a theatre trip to see Hamilton in London today. The overnight storm has British Rail advising people not to travel so she is now spending her day buying a couple of fence panels to replace those blown down and damaged overnight. I live in the South-East and it is getting very blustery.

Lucca get well soon.

Josianne

Devon, windy. I can hear the sea crashing. No snow here.
Sorry to hear the above Lucca.

Thanks. I was going over to visit GD who has been in hospital for two days with asthma issues and give her parents a break, so I’m doubly fed up !

Scottish Borders was wild in the night. Amazing wind. Much calmer now. A beautiful day. DH saw a tree down when out with Ddog. Hope all ok.

Aveline Sat 27-Nov-21 09:14:21

Just heard from DH. A68 and A1 closed so they're turning back home. Don't know why they even tried!

Grandmabatty Sat 27-Nov-21 09:11:15

I've just heard a barn was blown onto the railway line near where I stay so the wind must have been fierce! My house, like me, has a low centre of gravity so it must have whooshed over the roof and kept on going.

Snow and windy here in the Midlands.

My police officer son has messaged to say he's done his first blue light run of the day but at an incredibly low speed. Safety is paramount ?

We've got our Covid boosters at 10am so hopefully that'll still be on.

My husband borrowed a ladder from work yesterday to put our outside lights up this weekend. Can't see that happening now!

Grandmabatty Sat 27-Nov-21 08:39:56

In Stirling. Fortunately no-one was hurt.

Sparklefizz Sat 27-Nov-21 08:23:43

Wild here in the West Country. I have a major problem with leaves every Autumn. Yesterday there were drifts needing to be cleared up. This morning, from what I can see, they have gone. Will pop out my head later on to see who's got them instead!

Stay safe everyone. x

It's wild on The Wirral. Our cast iron furniture has all been blown over and is damaged. I've been on our local Facebook page and people are reporting many roads blocked by trees.

LindaPat Sat 27-Nov-21 07:50:04

West Yorkshire. Still windy, but not as bad as during the night. Snow started in the early hours. Stopped now, but still on the ground,
Local Parkrun cancelled this morning, so no granddog-sitting duties for us.
Thoughts are with those without power or damages, and hugs to anyone feeling under par.
Take care x

mumofmadboys Sat 27-Nov-21 07:33:15

Hope you soon feel better Lucca. Our rubbish bin has blown into the car and dented the door a little! Should have thought about that last night especially as I lay the bird table flat! Still very wild in Cumbria

Thank you to all who have posted. I hope you have made it through unscathed. I heard nothing during the night despite being a bad sleeper. A quick look out this morning shows no visible sign of damage. No snow yet in Polmont.

Lucca Sat 27-Nov-21 07:20:20

North Yorkshire strong winds all night and snow on the ground this morning. Plus I have woken up feeling very sick and dizzy. Today’s plans cancelled ….

Alizarin Sat 27-Nov-21 07:03:32

Cornwall. Hail in the night and strong winds, very cold for here but none of the white stuff...

Bridie22 Sat 27-Nov-21 06:57:10

North east coast here, awful scary night, the wind is swirling from all directions , lots of noise happening, just hoping its not my roof.
Luckily we still have electricity.

bikergran Sat 27-Nov-21 02:57:23

Been awake most of the night (still am) lots of banging and clattering outside, doesn't help as I frgt to fasten the gas meter door closed so it's banging on the wall rt next to the bedroom! I thought oh it looks light outside, got up to take a look.

Gosh! covered in snow a few inch deep on the windowsill !

North Lancashire here, best get the sled ready hmm

DS lives not far from Stanley and they have had heavy snow and dreadful wind, trees down in their village. He had to cancel a medical appointment at 5pm, too ris,y to drive.
I am in Sunderland and the house is being buffeted, I will be surprised if there is no damage in the morning.

grannydarkhair Fri 26-Nov-21 21:22:44

I’m in Dundee, been very cold and windy all day, rain started about lunch-time and hasn’t really stopped. There’s snow on the Sidlaws north of the city, and snow is/was heavy around Montrose/Fettercairn, schools were closing early in Angus.

Aveline Fri 26-Nov-21 21:15:20

DH is due to drive down to Durham from Edinburgh tomorrow morning. I'm hoping he decides not to.?

Shandy57 Fri 26-Nov-21 21:08:54

18 trees down so far, another one just reported. I remember the 1987 storm, I was teaching and suddenly saw the roof of the gym float away - class dismissed! smile

Grandmabatty Fri 26-Nov-21 21:05:49

That sounds scary Shandy
