I have a black La Redoute shift dress.

A mother of the bride outfit that the family fell out over. Due to someone taking offence about a remark I was forced to buy another , much more expensive outfit. I never wore the first one and 2 members of the family didn't speak for nearly 2 years when no offence was meant in the first place.

I have recently been selling my unworn items on EBay and have been very successful.
If they are good brands and in good condition, it’s worth considering.

I have a one in, one out rule in my wardrobe. So every time I purchase something new, I take out something that I no longer want to wear. I’ve lost some weight over the last 16months, and had to buy lots of new clothes and the clothes that are too big have been consigned to the charity shop. So not too much unworn here.

I too have a coney fur coat in the loft, which DH bought me as a surprise just after we married in 1979. I had been in hospital very ill and he had been saving his horse racing winnings to cheer me up.
I felt so sophisticated, wearing it.

Well done for still wearing it ! I am a different size than I was in my 20s so no longer fits me. But they are lovely coats and can't hear to throw it out.

I bought a beautiful dress for my niece’s wedding in Australia in December 2019. For some reason I wore a different dress on the day and the beautiful dress still hangs in my wardrobe.

Coney fur cost I bought in the 1970s, considered very chic to wear with Levi jeans ! Both my daughters have worn it in their 20s to go on fabulous trips to Paris and New York independantly. Feel that it would be sad to throw it out,so it hangs on the wardrobe door looking at me begging for another adventure. Maybe granddaughter in a few years might wear it ?

Just a lovely jacket. Covid-19 put a paid to wearing it.

Two pairs of shoes bought on sale and not really practical. One is a purple strappy sandal with a high heel. I love to look at them but have only worn them once. Another is a pair of beaded bronze low sandals, but they have the toe-thong which I find really annoying. Lovely if I don't have to walk!

I admit to having quite a bit of hardly worn nice clothes, but my social calendar has not been very full these last two years.

In my wardrobe I found a beautiful and unworn hot pink (slightly sheer) Monsoon kaftan type top with beading and embroidery. I love the colour but for some reason the cut is unflattering to my shape. I will donate to charity when its warmer as its beach wear.
I also have a beautiful pair of metallic leather shoes from Mosoon which are too small, but I love them so much that I keep them and try to stretch the leather grin

A nice Coast dress, with quite a low cleavage which I wore for my 70th birthday party 11 years ago and has been worn only once since then. I think it's time to say goodbye. Also a very heavy faux sheepskin coat, by Jaeger, which I bought on Ebay in excellent condition. Then the winter wasn't cold enough to wear it often and it is now a good bit too big for me. Someone will buy it if I take it to the Charity shop next week, especially if the weather is really cold!

Too many never worn or worn once. Due mostly to the pandemic.

I have a little black dress with matching shoes I bought for a dinner at DHs club we never got there as he was taken ill so it’s been unworn in the wardrobe for 5 yrs. it’s such a shame as it fits beautifully.

A beautiful Hobbs dress and jacket in Royal blue worn once.

I bought 2 identical dresses by Roman one in dark green and one in red. The dark green one has been worn many times and I have been given compliments in it but whenever I try on the red one somehow it does not seem right and it goes back in the wardrobe. I have other red dresses so it's not the colour.

A monsoon dress still with labels on, bought for goddaughters wedding. Decideded it would be to hot and wore dress originally bought. She's since divorced so maybe that's an omen to get rid.

A linen jacket I bought in the M&S sale in the summer. Why?
And a rather peculiar tunic top from the White Stuff sale in the summer, it needs leggings and I don't like leggings. So why, just why?

A Per Una dress I loved, wore once but it didn't suit me. I keep thinking I'll cut it down to make a skirt but I haven't yet.

If it was in the sale it means not many people liked it enough to buy it at full price!

Two lovely summer tunics bought this year but didn’t go anywhere nice enough to wear them…..they’ll come to Australia with me in March (?)

I just gave away a suit that was never worn I bought it in case I needed it for events around my son's wedding . That was 12 years ago .

Nothing completely unworn, not even clothes worn only a few times.

I cannot stand clutter and that applies to clothes as anything else. Generally I buy the clothes I need when I need them and wear them out before replacing them.

TillyTrotter Fri 26-Nov-21 20:52:14

Too many to itemise. In defence I do donate them a bag at a time to the local Hospice charity shop.

tickingbird Fri 26-Nov-21 20:49:46

Far too much. Awful really.

Marydoll Fri 26-Nov-21 20:44:33

Too embarrassed to say! blush Now too fat too wear!

Georgesgran Fri 26-Nov-21 20:34:19

Mea Culpa - I have more unworn stuff than I’m willing to admit to.
