Good morning everyone from a dark and I think a milder start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. I missed my I’m a celebrity last night thankfully it’s back on tonight. It helps me to drop off to sleep so regardless of the different views on the programme.
Nothing much on the agenda today it’s to be a jammy day. That’s the curtains open only to find it’s a miserable raining morning beyond. At least we’ve got electricity not like some poor beggars from Aberdeenshire who have been without for a few days. I was informed yesterday we might get our electricity cut off today for a few hrs while maintenance gets carried out. Not to mind I don’t think we’ll starve, not as long as there’s delivery carry out food to be had in fact I think we’re having Chinese tonight. Must go for now it’s been nice rabbiting off to invisible faces.

Hoping the electricity to those who are cut off gets reinstated as soon as possible thinking of you all. Keep warm and help each other.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s raining with a dark sky and looks windy out. However I do plan to venture out after lunch for a walk.

I’ve not long been awake and had my ‘worry dream’ last night. I get it occasionally. It’s always the same theme, just different locations and a different cast of characters - a proper Cecil B de Mille production. I’ve food to cook and try to share it out between too many visitors so I end up worrying about it all, how to present it and make it seem there’s enough for everyone - all the time smiling and trying to find time to say ‘hello’ to my guests. It’s exhausting and I wake with a headache, grateful it’s not real.

Anyway. I can’t seem to load the Matt cartoon so I’m away to have another go! Enjoy Tuesday everyone who can.

Sar please get that toe xrayed because the treatment for a fracture of your big toe is a below knee plaster.

Marydoll please be careful with the makeup, you do not want to frighten the natives.

grandMattie Tue 30-Nov-21 08:20:01

I forgot earlier. Happy St. Andrew’s day all you Scots!
I self diagnosed with plantar fasciitis about 4 months ago. When I spoke to the GP about it, he brushed it under the carpet. There is a little local hospital that does minor injuries, so we’re going there this afternoon. With any luck, I’ll be X-rayed and diagnosed, and finally taken seriously!
My niggly toothache is going to be seen at lunch time. I can’t afford to miss the appointment, both financially (private) or pain wise ☹️
As far as we can tell, DS’s return won’t be affected, but he may not be able to drive us to Bristol… that is a whole new set of problems.
Thank you all for your kindness. ❤️

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

GrannyGravy13 Tue 30-Nov-21 08:11:34

Have a lovely day Marydoll , keep safe and no rushing around…

Marydoll Tue 30-Nov-21 07:57:44

Good morning all and happy St Andrew's day ??????? to all Scottish grans, wherever you are!

Dear GM, you certainly have had your fair share of worries recently. I hope your son is on the mend soon.
Thinking about Megs, waiting to hear that your husband has managed to get medical help and Gwen, that you are not in too much pain! ?
MOMB, I hope you managed to have a good day in the snow yesterday. I always envy how fit you are! ?

Baubles, MrMDoll and I are also venturing into Glasgow, I shall keep an eye out for you! DH is meeting his ex colleagues for lunch, whereas I will be roaming the streets looking for a crust of dry bread! wink I have no plans to shop, I just need to get out of the house! The Christmas market is on and I shall soak up the atmosphere. Knowing that DH will be at close hand, if I feel unwell, has given me the courage to do this.

Yesterday, I received an unexpected call from my GP surgery, inviting me for an asthma review! Because I seemed very surprised, the nurse asked me what the problem was. I said that despite shielding , having been in hospital with a heart attack, my regular bloods going unmonitored the whole time, no-one from the surgery, apart from the pharmacy technician, had been in contact for the whole of the pandemic. She obviously hadn't read my record. ?
I of course will be going to the appointment, especially as she couldn't do enough to find an appointment time, which suited me and I do need some intervention. Sadly I can no longer find the energy to battle the dragon receptionist, so I have just put up with things!
You know, I have always had the highest regard for my clinicians, but I feel very let down by my GP surgery. I am very proactive, when it comes to my health, but what about those who are unable to be? ? I have turned into my nippy sweetie mother! This negativity needs addressed! wink

I must push on, DH is agitated excited at the thought of his grand escape and seeing his friends. He has been up since the crack of dawn and has his guid claes (Sunday best) out. I may even wear make up to meet my public.
Wishing you all the best of days.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 30-Nov-21 07:56:04

Sar53 please see your GP about your toe, I left mine many years ago and it is still so painful if it gets even the slightest knock.

Grandmajean Tue 30-Nov-21 07:42:46

Litter ! Meant bitter of course.

Oldbutstilluseful Tue 30-Nov-21 07:42:32

Good morning from a less cold NE Hampshire. granMattie I’m so sorry both you and your son are suffering. May I suggest you google Plantar Fasciitis? It’s an inflammation under the heel (commonly known as Policeman’s Foot) and is excruciating. I had it several times and I know there are some self help remedies. Good luck ?

Grandmajean Tue 30-Nov-21 07:42:12

Morning all.
Much less cold here in Cheshire. Yesterday was litter .
DH golfing this morning. I might get started on some mince pies but have to be in the mood for baking.
Not a good day for you yesterday GrandMattieHope today is better.

Gingster Tue 30-Nov-21 07:40:27

Poor you Sar. I know that’s very painful. ?. It usually eases after a couple of days. Take it easy and wear comfy shoes. ?

brook2704 Tue 30-Nov-21 07:36:44

You too Sar hope the toe is ok, take care ?

Gingster Tue 30-Nov-21 07:36:34

Good morning all and as soon as I got out of bed , I knew it was much milder. Thank goodness!

After booking our car in for a new clutch and brakes (prob iver a £1,000, we decided to but a new car . (We had been thinking about it). No new cars available until September. Something about a chip in all things computerised has malfunctioned .(something like that, anyway) ?
Anyway I persuaded Dh to look at second hand cars and we’ve got our eye on a 2 year old with only 7,000 miles in the clock. They will take ours p/e for a good price without us having the big jobs done. And it’s automatic, which I wanted. Test drive tomorrow. ?

Dd saw consultant yesterday and they want to take quite a bit more of her mole site away. It’s very worrying! ?

GM I hope you get to see/hear from a doctor.
Your poor son. Will this affect him coming home? ?

Enjoy your lunch GG . My gift wrapping gets worse the more I do. I love all the ribbons and bows but mine look like they’ve been wrapped by my little pooch. . Oh well! ??.

Wishing you all a worry/pain/free day. Is there such a thing? ?

BlueSapphire Tue 30-Nov-21 07:36:03

Good morning everyone from a milder Northampton, 9°C today. Hope it stays dry for our health walk this afternoon.

Must strip and change the bed today, then a whip round the bedrooms with a damp duster, and that's my job done for today.

Whoops, I forgot. I have booked a slot tomorrow for the council to take away a defunct fridge and freezer, plus a couple of other large items, and my very kind neighbour will be coming over this afternoon to get the large items outside for me. They need to be outside by 6.30 tomorrow morning. A bit more space cleared in the garage!

Oh dear grandMattie, what a day you had yesterday; hope there is better news today.

Take care and stay safe folks.

brook2704 Tue 30-Nov-21 07:35:14

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bit warmer and the snow is melting
Sending ?grandMattie hope things improve soon
A busy day today, this morning I’ve my Fitsteps dance class and then a much needed hair appointment this afternoon.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

cornergran Tue 30-Nov-21 07:30:38

Ouch sar. Resting sounds a good thing. Hope you’re more comfortable very soon.

cornergran Tue 30-Nov-21 07:28:07

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, damp dismal corner of Somerset

Yesterday’s admin took forever with frustrating snd in one case upsetting interruptions. Why I let rude people upset me I truly don’t understand. Today will be better. Christmas decorations to bring down. A short trip out for coffee and another pack of Christmas cards then on to sorting the decorations, weeding some out snd writing cards. What can go wrong?

Oh goodness grandMattie what a day you had. Good luck with the GP, wonder if you need an x-ray. Hope your son can be comfortable. Stay warm jax, not the time of year for boiler troubles. A day out sounds good baubles hope to get one on Thursday.

Take care everyone. Hope Tuesday is gentle with us all.

.

Good morning from a dark, mild, damp East Yorkshire. 9 degrees wow !

What a day GM I hope you can get to talk or see a Dr. Sorry about your son too. It’s difficult when they are so far away and there’s nothing you can do.

A very productive day indoors for me yesterday. I had a thorough clean up in the living room and fetched out a few Christmas bits and pieces. Changed over the plates on the dresser to seasonal ones too.
I made spicy parsnip soup which I had for my lunch. It didn’t appear too spicy (my taste)
but it creased me up in the afternoon. I have more left but I think I’ll freeze the remainder.
Coffee morning today which I’m looking forward to after no meet up last week.
This afternoon I will have a trip out somewhere for an hour not sure where yet.

Take care everyone.

AGAA4 Tue 30-Nov-21 07:25:06

Good morning from North Wales. Feels quite mild today.
Off for my booster later.
Hope you have a better day GM.
My neighbours dog was barking for hours again yesterday. A few of us have mentioned it to them but on it goes. I had a doctor's appointment by phone and it was hard to concentrate on what he was saying with the barking.
Hope everyone has a pleasant day. ?

Grandmabatty Tue 30-Nov-21 07:23:46

Good morning all from Polmont. The temperature is a heady 8° which is 9° higher than this time yesterday! It's still dark with an orange glow from the refinery at grangemouth and it's been raining.
Grandmattie your poor son and poor you! I hope the pain subsides and you can see a doctor. Baubles enjoy your shopping trip.
Yesterday started off badly. I drove to the pharmacy which collects my prescriptions, having been told last Wednesday that they would definitely order them this time and it would be in by Saturday. Needless to say, the young man hadn't ordered them so I have to go back today. They have frequently messed up my prescriptions. I will have to change pharmacy but I still haven't changed doctor since I moved three years ago so that has to happen first.
The day improved when dd and baby arrived and we walked round to pick up his big brother from playgroup. He was so happy to see us all. I gave them lunch and we had a good blether.
Today I have a Tesco delivery due this morning then back to the blooming pharmacy. Then a spot of vigorous house stirring as I have friends coming for a late lunch tomorrow. Have a good day all.

Sar53 Tue 30-Nov-21 07:22:01

Good morning from a cold, dark Essex by the sea, but no frost this morning.
So sorry to hear about your son GM, I hope he heals quickly and I hope you manage to speak toyour GP.
I too have a tale of woe. I stubbed my big toe on the wooden frame of our bed yesterday and I don't know if it's broken or not, (my toe not the bed). It's very swollen and bruised and hurts to walk on. I think I just need to rest it.
Today I need to walk up the road to the Post Office, if I can. Apart from that I have no plans.
Have the best Tuesday you can everyone, wear your mask and stay safe xx

GrannyGravy13 Tue 30-Nov-21 07:18:16

Morning Mick and all

No idea what it’s like outside as I am still snuggled in bed.

Oh dear grandMattie sending (((hugs))) to you and your DS.

I am off to a Charity Fundraising Lunch today with some friends. Really looking forward to it.

Managed to make a start on gift wrapping yesterday, I do sometimes wish I wasn’t so fussy with ribbons and parcel trimming etc.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Jaxjacky Tue 30-Nov-21 07:14:00

Good morning Mick and all from a balmy, 9 degs, S Hants. What a rubbish day for you grandMattie fingers crossed for a speedy consultation.
Our boiler was patched on Saturday monk08, it’s hobbling along, gas man returning on Thursday, the expansion chamber needs replacing.
Farm shop today, housework and trip to the local barber to get my fringe trimmed, it’s getting annoying.
Have a good day if you can with a ? and some ?.

baubles Tue 30-Nov-21 06:55:46

Good morning Mick, morning all from dark and damp South Lanarkshire.

gMattie, your poor DS and poor you. Hope you manage to see a doctor today.

DH and I are having a day in Glasgow. We were to have met my brother and sister in law for lunch but sadly their trip from Lincolnshire was cancelled due to disruption on the East Coast rail line. I have a few gifts to buy and it will be nice to see the Christmas lights and have lunch somewhere different.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ??
