Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside at the moment in Brackley this morning.
Today will be a quiet day as regards to doing things , an early small shop , and then have a lazy day so to speak.
Take Care,
Mick

Auntieflo flowers and a hug

Good morning all from a very windy East Northants. I was up early this morning waiting for a chap to come and do a job for me removing a bowed shelf under the sink and replacing it, but as he is an hour late I think I’ve been let down. When you live alone these small things seem bigger problems than when you have a partner who can sort them out for you. Oh well I suppose it’s back to yellow pages to search for another handyman. I thought people were looking for work! Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick and everybody. Another grey windy day in my corner of Lancashire, but the worst of the storm seems to be over. My plans for today are a trip to Morrisons to use the cash machine and the pharmacy and buy some more Christmas cards, as I am a few short. The usual physio exercises and cycling (indoors).

Positive thoughts to all who are struggling at the moment. Stay safe and warm all ??

? ”Auntieflo ?

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 08-Dec-21 10:33:13

Good morning from a dry but windy morning in Oxfordshire.
scentia I was impressed by you doing the splits until I realised it was an accident! Hope you aren’t too sore.
* granmattie* the blow to the head must have been an awful shock, it’s as bad as the pain, hopefully you are feeling better today.
For all of those who have had bumps and bruises, hope things improve today. Marydoll hope you have a better day today, it’s a pity we aren’t made of Teflon isn’t it? Then slights would just slide off of us leaving no trace.
MrOops is having a rest day today, he had a rough night so is catching up on his sleep.
I was going to start putting up the Christmas decs, but have postponed it again due to the noise I will have to make dragging things across the floor, as himself is unable to help me lift anything for a week.
So I shall get a book and read all day, bliss and shopping will be delivered later. Magic isn’t it? One button to press and it all arrives, although it was what happened when I was a child and all the local shops delivered……
Anyway, hugs for those who are in need of one. Have a good day everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 08-Dec-21 10:34:21

Let’s hope that they don’t run out of bliss! You knew what I meant didn’t you?

grandMattie Wed 08-Dec-21 10:41:20

Auntieflo, mercifully no black eye - it was on the "pointy end" of my head - I had bent it to go under the door as it was going down... Badly misjudged!

grandMattie Wed 08-Dec-21 10:43:11

joyce, have you tried AgeUK? They often have a list of retired handymen who are glad of a little job here and there.

Good morning all from a damp day in Glasgow but thankfully any snow that fell yesterday has disappeared.

I had a call from my dentist yesterday to let me know the last stage of my dental work will be done tomorrow. Santa has come early and all going well I will have my new four front teeth for Christmas. Can’t wait to be rid of this dental plate!

Ouch, first of all GrandM. Any mishaps I have now seem to leave me shocked and feeling nauseous, unable to bounce back as I once could. Pleased to hear Iris’s wound is healing well.
Another ouch, Scentia. I blanched when I read your post describing your awful experience. Hope you heal quickly.
My fingers are firmly crossed your chemo goes smoothly today Auntiflo ?

Good morning EV,if you are reading this. I have everything crossed you will be back with us again, hopefully soon.

Have a pleasant day all and a brighter day for anyone with worries or pain.

Good Morning from wet Harrogate
Welcome Enasharples and Flossiebo this thread becomes addictive!

Yesterday went to see the Workhouse in Ripon - WOW it was a great morning out, it was huge! Well worth the visit, helped by a welcome cuppa and mince pie!!
I've got some baking to do this morning, and present wrapping. This afternoon my friend is coming round to give me reflexology.
Oh! GrandMattie and Scentia I feel your pain. The plaster for Iris's leg looks very festive, glad she seems to be doing well.
Gosh Auntieflo you don't need forgetful Drs on top of chemo - a step too far. Glad you are OK though.
Hope those testing positive with Covid have the mild version and it doesn't spread further in the family.

Have the best day you can, folks

Blossoming Wed 08-Dec-21 11:01:31

Oopsadaisy I knew what you meant, but love the idea od having bliss delivered. Scentia and Grandmattie ouch and double ouch! I thought Iris’s plaster was a candy cane too, glad it’s healing. I’m glad you got your chemo sorted AuntieFlo. Good luck for all awaiting test results. I hope today is a better one Marydoll flowers. It takes me a while to get moving on these cold damp mornings but joints are loosening up now, time to start with a few floor exercises smile

Kalu Wed 08-Dec-21 11:06:18

Your post appeared while I was typing Auntiflo. Sorry I got your treatment and the day wrong??‍♀️ DH and I are becoming so forgetful with memory fail accompanied with a shrug of the shoulders just accepting this is life as we know it now and trying to make light of it. No matter, is our daily mantra.

Good morning all from a blustery northwest coast.
Off to have my roots done, fed up with the brown spray.
Read and Ipadded for too long last night, then the cat jumps on me when I finally drop off.
Will read through later and thoughts to the troubled.

Mattie I will check that out ( age uk), as this is the second handyman who has let me down, and it is also getting me down! Thank you, and I forgot to say in my post how great I thought Iris’s cast is. What a wonderful girl she is.

Jaxjacky Wed 08-Dec-21 11:43:42

I agree Marydoll it shouldn’t have been raised in this thread earlier today, but I believe you did that.
It was emphasised a while ago by some that this thread is for what the weather is like where you are and how your day is planned.
However, soops delightful kitchen is the place for people to find solace and a hug.

Hi all, we've removed a few posts which aren't really in the spirit of either GN or this thread. Hopefully things will get back on track now.
