Good morning Mick and everybody. Another grey windy day in my corner of Lancashire, but the worst of the storm seems to be over. My plans for today are a trip to Morrisons to use the cash machine and the pharmacy and buy some more Christmas cards, as I am a few short. The usual physio exercises and cycling (indoors).
Positive thoughts to all who are struggling at the moment. Stay safe and warm all ??

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside at the moment in Brackley this morning.
Today will be a quiet day as regards to doing things , an early small shop , and then have a lazy day so to speak.
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning all from a very windy East Northants. I was up early this morning waiting for a chap to come and do a job for me removing a bowed shelf under the sink and replacing it, but as he is an hour late I think I’ve been let down. When you live alone these small things seem bigger problems than when you have a partner who can sort them out for you. Oh well I suppose it’s back to yellow pages to search for another handyman. I thought people were looking for work! Have a good day everyone.
Auntieflo
and a hug
Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
Scentia, I am most impressed with the splits, but I don't suppose that you are.
Sympathies GrandMattie, for the sore head. Will it leave a black eye? and sometimes the ones offering help, are the ones who get told off. I completely understand.
It was yesterday that I went for my infusion, and to be given the next lot of Chemo tablets. It didn't start well, as the Dr I couldn't understand on Friday, had forgotten to prescribe the infusion drug!!! How, why?. I have it regularly every 4 weeks, so a Dr had to be found who could prescribe it then and there. He did, and I was duly infused. Took slightly longer than usual but all is well.
DH has just come and said, " there are scratches on the hall sideboard". Show me, said I. It turned out to be where he had laid a damp paper that had come through the letter box yesterday afternoon. " I didn't put it there" says he! Hmmm. Well, it was there when I came home from hospital. " I don't remember" says he, again. Well, he did and now I am seriously concerned about his memory. He IS getting worse. Oh my, I can't cope.
Never mind, we will survive. Enough of the ramblings
Have a good day one and all.'
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a grey but calm Carlisle. Well, it was windy and wet yesterday but the forecast snow amounted to a few non-settling flakes. We've had a lot worse.
Today the ironing is already done to be followed by bathrooms being cleaned then I think its on to another book. I have to re-acquaint myself with plot and characters before DS1 plays the TV series at Christmas.
Speaking of which, I have decided to forgo a hair appointment that I'd thought absolutely necessary. Until I listened/watched the latest news on Omicron. Now it's remaining uncut, I don't want to risk jeopardising our Christmas gathering, I haven't seen any family for two years.
June Spencer does look good, Urmston. People like her are my role model, make me determined to keep going. Though I suppose it's mostly in the genes. I liked the advice of the recently deceased 110 year old lady, a glass of red wine every day was her thing. I'd like to believe that. I once told my doc it should be an NHS prescription but sadly he did not take me seriously!
My best wishes and hopes for improvements to the injured and those struggling with difficulties.

Thank you for the good wishes for my GD. She seems ok . The rest of the family are at a testing centre as I type. Hope they are clear. Apparently GD's teacher has the virus so GD probably picked it up at school.
I forgot to wish Auntieflo all the very best with her chemo today. Hope it doesn’t leave too wiped out! ❤️
Good morning Mick and all. I can’t say where from until I open the shutters. That wind could have blown us to another country. I’m hoping somewhere sunny ?
Warm welcome to Flossie and to EnaSharples. I hope the latter comes back and doesn’t feel chased away.
Hope the rest of your family avoid the virus Grandmajean and anyone else showing symptoms, such a worry.
Vinegar and brown paper not much use for a head injury grandMattie, it is horrible and I burst in to tears myself when I jammed my finger in the car door a while ago. Not nice.
I’m enjoying the daily cartoon Urms, a great idea.
Hoping we have a tale of crumpets and so much more from EV very soon.
Wishing everyone a sighting of a random pink flamingo or two in your day
Good morning from Durham where it’s fairly still and gloomy. I feel as if I’m meeting myself coming backwards this week - today’s plan is coffee with a friend this morning, then a meeting with the local PCC about a proposed development near our estate. Later a drive through to DD2s to bring her dogs here for a couple of days.
Hopefully I can write a few cards in between - they’re littered all over my desk, so I feel I’m making a start.
My sympathies go to our GNs feeling unwell or ‘accident prone’ - I used to be able to trip over a matchstick, but since falling downstairs and breaking my arm some years ago, I have managed to stay upright!
Have a good day.
Good morning from a dry and not too cold NE.
I have an appointment with a solicitor mid morning, one more box to tick off.
DD took the afternoon off yesterday but it was spent doing paperwork for me, I really owe her and SIL big time, they have kept me going these last seven weeks.
Scentia that sounds painful, take care.
Sar - how kind and brave of your GD. 12inches is a lot of hair. Im sure it will be used wisely. ?.
GGI love your Xmas trees. Those little elves get into so much mischief. ?
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp grey South Yorkshire. We were hoping to go for a drive today and maybe a short walk, but the weather isn’t conducive to it, so I think we will aim to put the tree up and decorate it. The rest of the room and the conservatory can wait for a while. I had a sudden craving for sausages and mash yesterday. Not my favourite normally. Perhaps I’m pregnant! It is that time of year for strange unexplained births after all!?
Welcome to all our new posters, and have the best day you can folks.
Good morning Mick, morning all from grey and damp South Lanarkshire.
Ouchy that sounds sore Mattie and Scentia, take it easy today.
Pleased with my marathon card writing session yesterday, I’ve got a big bundle stamped and ready for the post today, I’ll have to queue in the post office to get stamps for the far flung ones. Just a few cards for neighbours to do now.
I’ve a parcel to collect in Waitrose which is close to where DD lives. My thinking was that I’d pop in during her lunch break however she’s working in London so I timed that badly.
Hope your little GC has a mild dose grandmajean.
Welcome to Flossie and EnaSharples.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day, may you find a random ?or two.
Morning from damp cold S Lanarkshire, but no storm now thank goodness.
Commiserations to grandMattie and Scentia, those injuries sound awful, hope today is better. Sorry too about your positive test brook, hope your symptoms stay mild.
Since the weather has improved I hope to get to my exercise class and coffee catch up today where we may continue our discussion about starting to test before we turn up. This is what we’re being advised to do now, but for some reason there is a reluctance to commit to it from several members. The new tests make it a lot easier so hopefully we can get agreement.
Communicating is a challenge for me just now because of being in the middle of two weeks of putting ear drops in, which is clearly being successful in softening the wax since I am nearly stone deaf and it is horrible! I may leave the debate till next week!
Wishing everyone a good day ???
Morning all
grandMattie wishing you a better day today ?
Scentia ouch!!! ?
The cleaning fairies are here this morning, I shall go to the gym then it’s either ironing or gift wrapping.
Here are the two of our trees, the big one is on the sitting room and the small one in the dining room. The GC are so excited to see what the elf gets up to each morning, this is him in the cloakroom ?
Good morning from North Wales. Gales last night but seems a bit less windy now.
My 15 year old GS had a trial to play rugby for England. He has got through to the next round. I am proud of him although not a fan of rugby.
Sorry to hear some of you are having a tough time but hope all have a peaceful, pleasant day.
Good morning everyone from a windy, wet and dark morning here on the east coast of Fife. During the night we had a visit from storm Barra thankfully he/she didn’t stay too long and let us get on with what we do best (sleep) then to top it all off the phone rang disturbing us once more - just a piece of marketing
that’s himself up now he can’t drop off which means that’s the light on how kind of him
Time for a cup of tea now
must get prepared for my weekly zoom with a few friends. I’m also going to write out a few Christmas cards today otherwise they’ll never get done. If it was up to me I wouldn’t be sending cards this year. But hey ho needs must as they say
even if it’s just to let folks knows we’re still with it.
If you’re partying today please safeguard yourself and others. Love to everyone.
Good morning from chilly Colchester. The sky looks quite blue so no rain for a while.
Usual Wednesday coffee meetup followed by Christmas lunch in a local restaurant. I can walk home along the riverside as I now live so much closer to everything. Hope the rain holds off it was horrible yesterday.
So many with bumps, bruises and viruses. I am sending extra love to all this morning ?xx
Don't know where the random but came from.
Good morning all from a wet and windy North Leicestershire.
It is my cousin's funeral today. We opted out of going in person and will watch on line. It is 7 weeks since he died and there is still no 'cause of death'. My aunt thinks he died of a broken heart but.
Welcome to all newcomers to this lovely, gentle thread and I hope those with pain or injuries feel better soon.
Good morning all and it looks a bit calmer out there. Wasnt toooo bad here in Essex but I phoned neighbour on the Suffolk Coast and she said it was dreadful there. She keeps an eye on our cottage but I do worry about the weather there, after our very large summerhouse disappeared in a storm a few years back. The roof ended up on the beach and all the contents were strewn around the garden. Lucky it was early morning with no one around. Hopefully we can get there before Xmas ?.
Dd had her pre op assessment ready for the op on Friday. ?
Goodness Scentia that sounded really painful ! Take care . ?
GranMattie you too! Gives you a shock as well as a sore head. ?.
Yesterday dh and I shopped together and we came home without things we needed. I do like to go on my own as I can’t concentrate with dh putting ‘unnecessary ‘ things in the trolley. ? ie sweets, biscuits and cakes. ?.. I’ll go again today as I have little gd staying with me while her mum is in hospital. She’s a terrible eater, so I need to get things in that I know she will like.
Wishing you all a lovely day and a warm welcome to new posters. ?
Good morning all from a dark, slightly less windy East Yorkshire where it is 3 degrees.
A busy day yesterday but all went well apart from a parcel trying to be delivered whilst out. Looks like I missed it by 10 minutes ?. It is due out today so I will wait for that. It is some new bedding I’d ordered. I will then put my Christmas bedding on that is so cosy.
I need to go to the post office today too so will choose my time accordingly.
Urm I don’t get that cartoon. There’s no such thing as unwanted candles in my house I love them!
Sorry to hear about your test result Brook
Good news about Iris GM
Ouch Scentia that sounds painful.
Take care everyone.
