Personally i feel he should go as cannot stand to keep hearing all the stories and footage that emerged overnight!

Now the illegality of the VIP lane gifting his mates £m's in providing PPE solely on who they were and not whether they could provide it. Just another in a long, long line. He has to go.

Will they take the wallpaper with them?

I really did like him. He seemed like a breath of fresh air.
Funny how quick that air turned so stale!
Yes, he definitely should resign!!!

So will he/won't he...looking forward to PMQs tomorrow..if he turns up! Simply cannot trust a word out of his mouth and the smirking ..angry

........That would be Carrie, then?

No it is time he went. Between The Party and the flat decorations. Just because Carrie has expensive taste - we all probably would, but we cut our coats according to our cloth!!!
Certainly don't expect the country to pay for it.

Boris wouldn't recognise the 'decent thing' if it crept into bed with him smoking a pipe.

Lies, lies and more lies! How much longer do we really have to put up with this? I am fed up with the whole lot of them.

He may not have a choice, if enough MPs complain to the Chairman of the 1922 committee, they can instigate a 'no confidence' vote.

I suspect it will all hang on the results of the Shropshire by election. If the conservatives lose, and there is actually a chance that they might, he will be out of the job by the weekend. I think that will apply also if the conservative wins with a very narrow majoirty.

So everyone. Th e man seriously challenging, what I understand is a lack-lustre candidate, helicoptered in, is the LibDem candidate, so anything anyone can do to support him, could be hammering the last nail in BJ's political coffin and he will be able to resign his current post to spend more time with his burgeoning family.

Agree...Shropshire folk need to vote ...

Boris do the decent thing? There is not a chance in hell he will resign. He should; however we have a populist government and P.M so it won't happen

If you didn't laugh, you would cry! Ah, thats the problem, we are crying, it is that bad.

Peter Bone on Radio 2 just now said we should all lay off Boris because he kept us all cheerful and happy during Covid.

You couldn't make this up could you?

Who the blue blazes is Peter Bone? Where do they get these eejits from? Are they all breeding in the backrooms at the beeb!? Being a northerner, it's crystal clear that BJ(and I use this term in its truest sense) is only considered funny/amusing/loveable north of Watford. Any effort by him to be 'funny' up here would have dire consequences........

Mummer Fri 10-Dec-21 17:31:45

The problem is endemic in the party it seems. The only down side is if he does go, another will take his place and risk them getting in again at the gen. Election. None of them are worth a spit. Greedy lying self serving. He's the head of a very ugly beast.

Chris Green conservative MP for Bolton was pushed on radio Manchester yesterday, did he have confidence in the PM. 8 excruciating seconds of silence. Finally he accepted the interviewers comment that the silence speaks volumes, you do not have confidence
Bolton West is often a predictor of which party will win the election. Chris Green must be reflecting his emails from constituency members

grumppa Fri 10-Dec-21 12:26:49

Of course he should resign. He is untrustworthy and incompetent. But he is also incapable of seeing a decent thing, let alone doing it.

One of the drawbacks of never having voted Conservative, let alone having been a party member, is that one cannot withdraw one's vote or resign.

If you subscribe to the Times the article linked in this tweet might be of interest

Christmas party row: Tories held ‘up to seven’ parties in lockdown | News | The Times

This says the 18th Dec Party was held just a few rooms down from where Johnson was working (& from where the Ministers meeting was held?).

The party started at 6pm.

And absolutely irrelevant in terms of winning elections.

People did leave the Labour Party when Corbyn became leader MaizieD, I was one of them, and I know others who did too. There was a wave of young people who joined at the same time though, which masked the leavers.

I know they did. I follow all sorts of people on twitter grin

But the overall increase in membership was very large.

monica he isn’t just leaving because of Johnson’s dreadful leadership, he is also resigning because of what he described as the Tories “authoritarian policies”

Presumably it is the Police and Borders bill he can’t stomach.

I heard him briefly on the radio and he seemed to be objecting to the Covid passport and new restrictions?

Oh thanks. I did wonder if my presumption was correct. You explanation makes more sense.

Every minister , parliamentarian & staffer at the #downingstreetparty must resign NOW.

No ifs no buts

The rule of law is a fundamental value , the glue that hold us together as a nation.

Once that is trashed by those in power the very essence of our democracy is at stake.
