Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but dry here in Brackley at the moment .
Yesterday went better than I thought ,, the chiropodist arrived a little earlier than the time given, and the mattress was only a few minutes later than its time of delivery .
Today, I plan on having a couple of hours in Bicester, then get some Fish & Chips on return, and then a quiet afternoon.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a light, windy freezing cold and thankfully dry start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. I’m contemplating whether to go for a short run in the car to our nearest town. I’m needing to get out for an hr or so. I’ve not been out for a few days now due to the horrible weather, and I’m getting grumpy, getting out blows the grumpiness away for me as I’m sure it does for others. This afternoon all being well I’ll be attempting for the last and final time to make the dreaded Yorkys. I’m also going to write out the remaining Christmas cards so that they can be posted in time. I wasn’t going to bother sending cards this year but himself insists. He better behave else he’ll have the task of doing it himself.

I might get my hair washed this afternoon too, it jolly well needs a wash. So much to think about it really tires me out.

Have a good Friday, I’ll be thinking of those who need a hug. flowersHave a good weekend all.

Good morning everyone from a dry and bright Northampton.

Off to the shops this morning for coffee and a mooch, and to pick up a couple of orders from M&S, a stand-by Christmas present for younger DGD. I have just had an email from N**t to say that the hooded blanket I ordered her for Christmas is now delayed until 24th December, so good thing I ordered an alternative - looks as though I will need it! The blanket was originally due to arrive on the 4th, then the 13th, and now the 24th.

Then an afternoon indoors reading, an early dinner (egg and potato curry), and an evening at rugby - Friday night under the lights, it's a great atmosphere. We are playing a French team in the first round of the European cup. Shall wrap up warm and take my blanket and a warming tipple.

Lots of good news here today so will wish everyone well for a pleasant Friday.

Good morning all from the Black country where we've just had a quick sharp downpour.
Haven't read through yet but did see grandMattie son is home for Christmas such lovely news.
Might wrap a few more presents today and only the neighbours cards left to write.
Meeting friends later at the club.
Enjoy your Friday and may you all find some ?.

Grandmabatty Fri 10-Dec-21 08:27:14

notgran that's a lovely wreath.

Pittcity Fri 10-Dec-21 08:26:01

Happy anniversary weekend to the Nangarras ?

Pittcity Fri 10-Dec-21 08:25:10

Good morning from a cold, damp Colchester.
I thought I was getting an empty today and was going to hit the shops. DH is going fishing and has just informed me that a man is coming to replace yet another window pane sometime today. He presumed I'd be in all day! We keep discovering blown double glazing and should've just got the lot replaced when we moved in.
I'll catch up with laundry and TV and hope the glass man ( I'll be careful with him?) arrives early.

Love to all ? x

Morning from S Lanarkshire, light beginning to arrive.

I woke up this morning and wondered why I felt good, oh yes,I finished writing the cards last night! One thing can leave my cluttered mind?

I am still leading a (literally) quiet life. I cannot wait to finish the ear drop routine and for ear syringing on Monday. I have stopped trying to have any face to face conversations, it is just too difficult and give daily thanks for subtitles!

Really glad to read your news grandMattie, your DS’s presence over Christmas will be such a help.

Hoping all the Covid warriors continue to have mild symptoms and wishing everyone a good day ???

Sar53 Fri 10-Dec-21 08:21:27

The boat is his man cave Urms, keeps him out of mischief and from under my feet !!!!

Best wishes to your daughter Gingster, I won't say don't worry because I know you will xx

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks like a clear sky
Lots of lovely news this morning with some very busy grans, I hope everyone out and about has a great time - enjoy!
Special good news from grandmattie - so pleased your DS is able to get home for Christmas and Iris’s bath
A Happy Anniversary to nannagarra enjoy your weekend away ???
I’m having to stay home due to covid so nothing exciting to report, but I’m getting on well with cleaning and sorting out cupboards ?
Hope everything goes ok for your DD today Gingster
What a disappointment grandmajean poor lamb, I hope both DGC recover quickly and no one else catches it
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Thank you for the compliments about my wreath. I am a very, uncrafty, can't draw a straight line with a ruler, kind of person. So if I can do one, seriously anyone can. I bought all the bits and the idiot guide's instructions from a local florist, who also runs workshops. I would never dream of going to her workshops as there would be a time constraint and naturally you would be comparing yours with others. This way I can do it at my own pace. If you have the time and see DIY Wreath kits, I recommend them.

Grandmabatty Fri 10-Dec-21 08:12:36

gingster. I hope everything goes well for your daughter. My thoughts are with her and you

Greyduster Fri 10-Dec-21 08:11:52

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Set to be a bright day in South Yorkshire but it’s very cold. I am off out shortly to do a food shop and then will settle in for a day and try and get my cards finished. DH had a lousy night so I suspect he will stay in bed this morning. DS is supposed to be coming down tomorrow, but hasn’t confirmed so I will have to chase him up on that. Have a good day, one and all.

Grandmabatty Fri 10-Dec-21 08:11:32

Good morning all. It's 3° in Polmont with clear skies and just starting to get light. It looks like it might have been frosty in the night.
Happy anniversary to nannagarra and your oh. I hope you have a lovely day. marydoll get that doctors appointment pronto! Farview and grandmattie such joy for you with family returning for Christmas. It leaps off the screen.
Yesterday I prevaricated yet again and still haven't written the cards. I don't know why I'm not doing it but it's a source of great annoyance at me. I did go and visit dd and the boys and was blessed with dgs1 coorying in and wanting me to read to him. It was really lovely. He was quite tired as normally he's rushing around. Dgs2 is struggling with wind and he blessed me with a ripe, full nappy when I was cuddling him!
Today I have dgs1 as dd and sil are going for a late lunch so I'm looking forward to it. I'll pick him up from playgroup and there will be hot juice (ribena) waiting for him. Apart from that, nothing is planned. Except writing cards. Maybe. Have a good day all.

Good morning from North Wales. Very wet here yet again.
Christmas arrangements not fully sorted yet. I have plans with DS1 and DD1 but still to sort out when to see the other two.
Good to see happier news today.
Sorry to hear of your asthma problems MaryDoll. It's a nasty condition that I have had for over 60 years. I hope the doctor can help to relieve it.
Have a good Friday everyone.

cornergran Fri 10-Dec-21 07:52:02

Happy anniversary nannagarra: enjoy every minute of your weekend.

cornergran Fri 10-Dec-21 07:49:42

Morning Mick, morning All from a calm, dry corner of Somerset.

Mr C’s audiology appointment was cancelled with 20 minutes notice yesterday. He’ll be sent another, possibly in February. Oh heck. As we were out anyway we wandered to a garden centre for a mooch and coffee. My afternoon spent on admin and a chatty phone call with our friend and our goddaughter while Mr C began a Christmas jigsaw.

Still need to finish the Christmas cards, won’t be today as we’re off to our local NT this morning and there are sausage rolls to bake this afternoon. Our Littlest is better-ish but the two older ones are poorly with a stomach bug, not holding out much hope for our planned family get together on Sunday. Nowt to do about it.

I’m pleased for you grandMattie, all coming together. Good wishes for your daughter gingster, I won’t say don’t worry because of course you will. A rest today sounds essential marydoll, if you finish your cards I can send mine to stave off boredom.

Take care everyone. Special thoughts to all with heavy hearts. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Grandmajean Fri 10-Dec-21 07:48:24

Morning all. Will come back to read posts later as need to get a move on.
Big disappointment for GS. It is his school Nativity today and he has just tested positive for Covid. His sister had a positive test on Wednesday.
This virus is not going away.
He still wants to watch on Zoom so we will too.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 10-Dec-21 07:43:11

Happy Anniversary Nannagarra have a lovely weekend ?

Love that cartoon today Urms

kittylester Fri 10-Dec-21 07:38:31

Good morning all from a damp North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner is coming this morning and a delivery of tiles for my shower.

I had a lively chat with a really long standing friend who I first met when we were 3 and lived next door to each other. We are able to not speak for 6 months and then pick up where we left off.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Fri 10-Dec-21 07:36:28

Happy Anniversary Nannagarra ?❤️ Have a wonderful weekend.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 10-Dec-21 07:36:01

Good morning all from east Yorkshire . It’s just getting light and is dry and Alexa says temps up to 5 degrees today.

I had a very enjoyable day shopping in Leeds yesterday getting a few presents out of the way and a some treats for myself.

Today I need to catch up with my Dad and try and pin him down to a meet up over the holidays. I also need to do a top up shop.
I am still awaiting my parcel delivery that I missed being in for on Tuesday.Although it is Hermes last night I emailed the company the goods were purchased from.
All this talk of fish and chips is making me regret talking braising steak out the freezer for tea!

Notagran what a lovely wreath. You are talented. I’d love to have a go myself … one day!

* GM* pleased to hear your good news what a relief for you.
Sar I hope you have a lovely day out in London. I’m envious as we don’t often get time alone with our children as families grow.

Take care everyone.

hollysteers Fri 10-Dec-21 07:34:36

Box of frogs!

hollysteers Fri 10-Dec-21 07:34:03

Good morning all from a dark northwest coast, and I’m glad you didn’t have any irritating clashes of appointments yesterday Mick.
I’m up and ready early for me as off to Castle Howard on a day trip cancelled a little while back for lack of numbers. I’m wearing a thousand layers and a hat.
Watched a fascinating documentary by fellow Liverpudlian on Qanon and conspiracy believers. Mad as a box of fronts and believe Michelle Obama is a man!
Thoughts to grannysomerset scentia and gingster.
My broomstick awaits.

Urmstongran Fri 10-Dec-21 07:32:04

I hope all goes well for your daughter with her op today Gingster. You will all be anxious until you get the results.

I think you mentioned you’re off to Spain on Wednesday Pantglas? .... no wonder you’re so laid back about Christmas prep here! Enjoy your (hair) cut, cocktail and curry night!
