Imagine that we have a new sparkly GN jukebox......free of charge, what records to choose and why? Do you just love a certain old record or does it bring back lovely memories?tchsmile

Just been listening to

Be my Baby, &

Walking in the Rain, by the Ronettes. That led me on to

He’s A Rebel by the Crystals.

Not even my era, but the jukebox hit that takes me straight back to 16 (what was I even doing in the pub?) is
Get Ready - The Temptations. Was there ever a better pure pop lyric than
‘So, fiddley-dee, fiddley-dum
Look out baby, 'cause here I come.’?

Ooh MissAdventure, I didn’t know you cared! It’s a song guaranteed to make me dance like a total eejit! ?

I must be older than some posters. My pick;
My Girl by Otis Redding
Let it Be Me, the Every Brothers
Bridge Over troubled water, Simon and Garfunkel.
But to get the party started it has to be
Rave On by Buddy Holly

Talking about love, how about 'I feel love's by Donna Summer.

You should be dancing - The Bee Gees.

MissAdventure Fri 10-Dec-21 20:47:42

Baybeh! My heart is full of love and it's all for you!

grannydarkhair Fri 10-Dec-21 20:45:48

Christmas themed, it would be Fairy Tale of New York by the Pogues and the late, great Kirsty McColl. Non-Christmas themed, it would be Don’t Leave Me This Way by The Communards.

I didn’t realise that one was by REM MissA no wonder I like it.
Am tired with dancing now ( unlike when I was 18) and need to sit at a table with a Baileys and put Night Swimming, also by REM on.Melancholy and lovely.

MissAdventure Fri 10-Dec-21 20:14:14

Satisfaction - The rolling stones.

All right now - Free.

Shiny happy people - REM.

Forsythia Fri 10-Dec-21 20:12:22

My next ones are anything lively by the Stones, get that party started!

EllanVannin Fri 10-Dec-21 20:11:59

At this time of the year it has to be Chris Rea " Driving home for Christmas ".

I'd alighted a flight from Oz at Manchester airport at 7am on Christmas Eve after leaving another Christmas Eve behind and the roads here were ice-packed and there was thick snow either side of the motorways. The taxi was playing this music which really set the scene as I was loaded with gifts and I can always picture this time when I hear it playing.

lemongrove Fri 10-Dec-21 20:09:38

Some great records here....am already dancing around the jukebox.

Bad Moon Rising is my next choice ( Credence Clearwater Revival?)
