Good Morning Saturday 11th December 2021
(47 Posts)Good morning from a dull and grey but dry Black Country.
Off for a walk with a group today. A friend of mine started an FB ladies coffee group a few months ago for our local area., it is very popular. They meet for coffee, lunch etc. Today we are meeting for a country walk.
Then back home at lunch time to change and be ready to go to MtJ's Nieces home for an pre Christmas nibbles and drinks. I have just taken a LFT which is thankfully negative.
grandMattie you are so talented, I am in awe!
ginny what a lovely birthday surprise for your DD, such a clever idea. My DD is 43 two weeks today. I am taking her for lunch the next day. Just the two of us, as it is rare that we are together without the girls.
Wishing you all a good day
Good morning from a cold, frosty Colchester. The sun is peeking out.
DH and DS are still snoring. I have a cuppa and a wash on.
No plans today. DD mentioned she might pop in with our Christmas card. She works for Royal Mail but likes to save stamps (which they are given free at Christmas)!
Love to all ? x
Morning everyone from a frosty, beautiful morning in Teesside. The skies are spectacular at this time of year aren't they?
Bad night sleep with granddaughter jumping into bed with me, but sleeping sideways on.......
We're off this morning to buy her 'the most beautiful dress and some crayons' for her upcoming birthday. And no doubt we will need a hot chocolate in a cafe!
I think it will be an early night for me tonight?
Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining.
I had a lovely day in London yesterday with my daughters. We wandered around Liberty's, everything so beautiful but the prices are eye watering.
We had lunch in an Italian restaurant just off Oxford Street and then spent a few hours in Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.
I finally got home just before 21.00, weary but had a great time.
Today we have a few more presents to find this morning and I need to do some wrapping later.
Have a super Saturday everyone xx
Good morning all from Polmont where it's 4° and cloudy. I think it's to be relatively mild today. Great bag grandmattie. I'm in awe of your skills and energy. Ashcombe sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell.
Yesterday was a lovely day with dgs1. He's such a loving, happy and funny boy. He is very determined though and we have some tussles until I can distract him. My aunt and uncle popped in while he was playing with the train under the tree. Then later on I fed dgs2 when mum and dad came to pick up big brother. It was a such a lovely, family day.
Today I must write the Christmas cards and wrap presents. I have mince round for tea. Whatever you are up to, I hope you have a good day.
Morning all +2 in south Hants, pretty sunrise here too gingster good news on your daughter.
gMattie you’re an amazing crafter.
Busy day yesterday, tree delivered, Tesco came, son and his gf dropped in, then the children arrived.
Tree decorating, MUST write cards and bung the hoover round.
Have a lovely day all ??
Morning Mick and all
The wind has dropped, here in my corner of S E Essex, I wasn’t awake I. Time to see the sunrise Gingster I will take your word on it.
Off down the road to the butchers this morning, then I shall shut myself in the bedroom and crack in with the gift wrapping.
Keep safe and well folks ??
Good morning all from dry Harrogate
Lovely tote bag grandmattie the recipient will be delighted.
Nothing particularly planned for today, so it could be a good time to bake, then get the Xmas ? tree down from the attic and start decorating it!! DD2 always used to think it was up for her birthday ? which is on Monday, she’ll only be 47, so why not?
Hope you are feeling better Ashcombe dizzy spells are not nice
Hope your DD enjoys her birthday Ginny
Have the best day you can, folks
Good morning all from the Black country, its dry and a little bit warmer.
Well when we got to the club last night stewardess told me I'd won a prize in the raffle, DH is happy it was a case of beers.
We're over Redditch to friends later we will go earlier than usual as we're going to see their sons new house.
Full English calling so will catch up with everybody's news later, enjoy your Saturday and may you all find some ?.
Morning Mick, morning All from a dry, calm corner of Somerset
Yesterday’s NT visit in unexpected sunshine was a treat, the house was decorated beautifully. Sausage rolls made it felt a decent enough day. Not sure if our family afternoon tomorrow will happen, poorly children are still poorly. Wait and see time.
Cards to finish today, not much else on the agenda.
Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.
Good morning and there’s a lovely sunrise here in Essex. Still very cold.
DD had her op … eventually at around 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon. She might be home today. ?
Little GD has been such a good girl, while staying with us. This morning she has her ballet class and this afternoon I might take her to a Christingle /messy play afternoon at the church. All depends if and when her mum comes home.
Keep warm and safe everyone. ?
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.
Walk into the village for me this morning to buy flowers and wedding card then home to write my Christmas cards. Then maybe back to the village with local cards for the scout Post box.
All good wishes to all.
Good morning everyone, it’s looking dry outside at the moment so hopefully a less muddy dog walk.
Taking DH for a PCR prior to his surgery on Tuesday, then usual chores.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Good morning all, it’s a bit chilly but dry here in N. Bucks.
Must get busy. Last year Dd2 missed out on her planned
celebrations for her her 40th birthday. So, this year her two sisters and I have arranged a 1920s afternoon tea and Murder Mystery for her.
She thinks she is going out with her younger sister but will be transported to my converted 1920s dining room where we and 8 of her friends will be gathered, all in character costume. Off now to get my arms tattooed ?
Wishing you all a good Saturday with a smile along the way.
Good morning from a dry but chilly Torbay.
The bag is lovely, grandMattie; no wonder your DD would like some for presents. And you write stories, too! Such talent!
I do wonder how long to go on sending Christmas cards to certain folk, Gagagran, but it’s the only time I correspond with some.
You sound as busy as ever Scentia. Look after yourself! I’m glad your DH's test was negative, notgran. I also love mulled wine! Enjoy the Christmas Fair, Beechnut!
Yesterday, I had to cancel the lunch booking with my lockdown buddy as my headache brought dizzy spells so I couldn’t risk going out. It felt like a migraine without the usual dazzles. It has cleared now, thankfully.
I must start on the decorations although I might pop across the park to the Coffee Morning at my church as it would be good to go out.
Happy weekend, everyone! ?????
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dark and dry.
I’ve just accidentally poked something on the thermostat so I’m going to have to wait and see what happens. I don’t know what I’m doing with it!
Yesterday I had the boiler serviced. I ask him to do it and never have a set day for him to come but he always turns up. He said he had fitted many new boilers this year.
I’m going to visit a Christmas fair for stocking gifts and then drop a card off at DH friend who I haven’t seen for ages. He is a person who if you want to see you have to go to him.
Another lovely bag Mattie. You’ve got a production line going.
Have a good day all and stay safe if you’re out and about ?❄️?
Good morning from a chilly Hampshire. The car windscreens are all frosted over so thank goodness I have nowhere to go to early morning to-day! Husband's COVID test result was as expected, he's fine. To celebrate we went to the local pub for a late lunch (any excuse). Bit sad it was a Friday so near to Christmas and it was so very quiet. There was one work's Christmas "Do" but the rest were just odd tables with couples. I had 2 glasses of Mulled Wine
with my meal though, to help me feel a bit more Festive. To-day onwards and upwards getting the Halls Decked with Boughs of Holly, tinsel and whatever else is needed to make our home ready for Christmas Day. Must get some presents wrapped and parcelled up for posting, that's getting urgent. But first coffee
. Have a lovely day and those tote bags are gawjus grandMattie.
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is dark and damp.
I am off to oversee the signs being fitted around the pond in a while, then it is specsavers with DH after which I will insist we look around the street food market before I tackle the Sky stand about my Sky Glass order!!
This afternoon I will be delivering a pushchair I have sold on FB for my charity.
After that I will settle down for strictly with a bottle of wine .
Have a good day folks and stay safe❤️
Good Morning Mick, Mattie and all who follow from a very chilly south coast. 1degree at 6am but set to get a bit less cold as the day wears on.
I wish I could buy a ticket for your WI raffle Mattie - your totes are works of art and I love them! You are so talented.
When DH stirs we are off to get the click and collect from Tesco and he is going out with his buddy on a bike ride later. I still can't quite believe how well he has recovered from his cancer operations.
I finally did it - wrote the cards yesterday! I have really cut back on numbers, as I know many others have done judging by the number we got last year. I do send emails to friends, with Christmas greetings ,so am not entirely a Grinch!
Have the best day you can everyone!
Good morning from a dark, cold E Kent. We are promised much milder temperatures today with the maxima in the night!
Having given away Christmas place mats for a charity, I have made a bag for you WI raffle next week.
DGD and I were chatting on messenger last night and asked me to make her two more totes as presents. Golly, this week is going to be very busy as I’ve got to print and bind 10 little books of Christmas stories that I had written for my DGS. In this case, they are going to the Sunday school children on Saturday when we decorate the tree in church.
Rugby this afternoon, so I shall be on my own, to do “stuff” like my Spanish homework…
I hope all those with problems find some respite today, and the day is gentle with them ❤️
Love much and love well. Carpe diem. ??????
