Here we are again
Happy as can be (in the circumstances)
All GOOD friends and jolly GOOD company.

Welcome. The buffet is waiting. Our retreat is warm and cosy. There will always be a comforting virtual arm around the shoulder for those who need one. flowers

I hope the paintings are going well soop. Granddog and I went for a walk, starting my resolution to walk everyday. Please excuse me not starting on 1st!

Nannytopsy Ta da! Such wonderful news to start the Kitcheners new year. Us lot love babies.

Hellogirl1 Alby is a precious wee lad. I would enjoy a cuddle right this minute.
Also, thank goodness for welcome, positive news of your great nephew, Jack .

Urms Had it been possible, Mr Soop and I would have been very happy to join in the malt-tasting celebrations together with you and your discerning step father. It is one malt with which Mr Soop is unfamiliar. He has made a note of the name to look out for.

Blossoming Yep! Out with the calorie-rich extras. I cannot indulge as the surgeon asked me not to gain weight. On the other hand, Mr Soop has squirreled away a treasure trove of treats. Bless! wink

Granmarie Was the steak pie covered in short-crust pastry? If so, is there a wee portion going begging. hmm

We had been invited to a wee gathering with our two pals in the village on Boxing Day. We were unable to attend (due to a bad "drop bot" episode). Instead, we are calling in for half an hour this afternoon.

Thank you for all your good wishes. The sooner the surgery fixes things, the better. No matter how tricky the recovery, I am actually looking forward to the challenge. I cannot think of anything much worse than being incontinent. I know that it isn't deadly, like cancer. I count my blessings together with attempting to manage the buggerations that never fail to create mayhem every single day.

The studio is undergoing a make-over. Before I go into hospital, I have one of three pet portraits to don my arty farty hat for. All I need is a good start. Should that not happen, I may be making several attempts before I can say that I've achieved what I set out to do.

It's wild-ish and windy. Rain clouds are gathering.

Enjoy your day. I shall return before I log off.

Good afternoon lovely Kitcheners. I’m slowly starting to get into a good routine now the holidays are almost over. It’s finally stopped raining so am about to go for a walk.

I’ll leave this here for you, just for fun and in the hope it will raise a smile.

Wonderful news Nannytopsy!
Happy New Year everyone.
My great nephew, Jack, left hospital last night. His family are now preparing to have the Christmas they all missed.
Here is Alby with his mum and dad, when he was 2 days old.

Good evening, lovely Kitchen people ❤
We're sitting with our feet up, after a nice steak dinner, watching Don't Look Up on Netflix. Very satirical, strong cast. It took me a wee minute to recognise Mark Rylance.

Looking forward to family coming tomorrow for traditional steak pie dinner.

I hope you are all having a relaxing New Year's Day.

TOYA, NNGB. ?

What fantastic news nannytopsy on this first day of 2022. May this be just the first of many more to come. Not all babies but hopefully improved health and support for those who need it. Perhaps soop's date will be the next news???.

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. Our plans for a quiet night in went to pot after the businesses, residents and boat owners around the marina set off fireworks at midnight, accompanied by cheering. There were some lovely cascades but no nasty loud bangs! Although everyone was suitably distanced it very much felt like a coming together and we didn’t get to bed until after 3am, Consequently we slept in until lunchtime. After showers, tea and porridge we had a lovely walk in the sunshine. I’m ready for a nap now! I feel as though better days are coming for us all.

‘Evening All’.

Just spent a lovely afternoon with my stepfather. He was in reminiscent mode (allowed in this, his 90th year). He spooled back in time, to life in a village when he was a wee boy in the Western Isles. His brother is 96y. They chat on the phone every week. He has so many memories to share, as I’m sure you can imagine.

Anyway, we were his ‘first footers’ this afternoon. He welcomed us in to share a couple of wee drams of this.

Bluddy gorgeous. I could’ve pulled up a chair and cosied down for the whole evening. He enjoys his malts ‘with company’. We were happy to sit, sip and listen. He has, at his great age, many wonderful tales. As you can well imagine.

Happy New Year everyone and health and happiness to everyone! The cat is out of the bag and we are drinking champers to celebrate DD & SiL’s happy news. Nanny has knitting to do before August ?

Jaxjacky Sat 01-Jan-22 17:21:55

Happy New Year to you all. I’m leaving nibbles on the side, all fresh, just over ordered. MrJ and I saw in 2022 with Jools after watching the Freddie Mercury tribute concert, I was there.
Christmas gone from our house, boo, but needs must as we’re out for a family lunch tomorrow, my son’s 31st and either Monday or Tuesday MrJ is back to work. Just need to chop up the tree into the garden waste bin.
Today started with watery sun, then back to grey and drizzle, getting tedious now, a swift walk was not that that pleasant.
Have a peaceful evening all x

Bea65 Sat 01-Jan-22 16:05:34

Wishing soop and ALL the supportive GNs a better healthier 2022! I'm crossing fingers, toes and eyes for ALL our pending surgeries not to be further delayed xx
