The chair by the sitting room fire will be plumped up ready for you Charleygirl and the resident cat will happily settle for strokes at any time of day. ?‍⬛

Lovely pictures muse and Blossoming*, thank you.
You do your best maddyone been there, it’s all you can do ?
Another lazy day, washing and a quick walk. This will not do. I need to buck up and get us out tomorrow.
Hope annsixty has had a better day. X

Doodle Tue 28-Dec-21 21:40:57

Dear Soop I hope the surgery can be arranged soon. Such an uncomfortable and painful condition. You need relief from this soon. If Mr Soop continues to call us his girls I might just giggle in a girly manner ?
Maddyone Callie is gorgeous and would cheer anyone up.
Hope everyone is ok . TOYA?

*Evening All’

What lovely photos tonight! maddyone that Labrador is seriously gorgeous. And seaside photos from muse and Blossoming are so uplifting - I do love to be beside the sea. Next week for me - all being well - back to Malaga.

I shall make a Horlicks now and bid you all goodnight. I can drink alcohol from tomorrow. Hic!

Nannytopsy Tue 28-Dec-21 23:37:18

What lovely photos! It has barely stopped raining here for 48 hours and the huge puddles on the lanes have joined up in the middle. Please can we have some sun soon? I hope the postman comes soon soop.
Sleep tight everyone ?

Delightful photographs. Thank you for sharing.

It is a ghastly day, weather-wise. Mountainous waves, cancelled ferry crossings and a wind that sounds like an express train on it's way to who knows where.

We are a wee bit concerned because Sweetie Pie hasn't visited in well over a week. Cannot help but fear that she may have had a mishap. Her apartment is tidy and cosy. We have a cupboard full of food in readiness. Her special mat is on top of the boiler. It will be warm and inviting for the moment she steps across the threshold.

I have received some very comforting pm's and they have touched me deeply. Thank you, lovely peoples for your kindness and consideration. flowers

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Back to rain today so I have been pottering indoors. Have started on the laundry but am having to use the tumble dryer for some things, which I try to avoid as much as possible. A big pot of mushroom soup on the go for later. Not sure whereabouts you are Charleygirl but I hope things improve soon, you sound very down flowers

Grandmabatty Wed 29-Dec-21 15:53:21

I'm sorry not to be in the kitchen but I'm babysitting this afternoon. Further news as we get it

Charleygirl5 Wed 29-Dec-21 16:07:47

Blossoming my apologies- I did not mean to come across as miserable or at least no more than usual! There has been endless rain and even when I went to Waitrose for half an hour today there was a downfall when I was inside.

The fresh meat shelves were fairly bare but I am attempting to eat my way through my freezer drawers but I did want fresh vegetables such as mushrooms, sweetcorn pieces and broccoli so that I can play with my new air fryer.

I have not had it a month yet but already I have seen a big difference in electricity bills because I am not using my large oven now. I may live in London but the Scot in me is still there!

soop Wed 29-Dec-21 16:29:39

The wind continues to bend some slender trees almost double. It is getting dark and there has been no sign of Sweetie Pie which is disconcerting. Perhaps she is snuggled down somewhere safe and will appear as if by magic. wink

Sorry not to have any interesting news to share with you lovely lot today. That does NOT mean that you are far from my thoughts. You are very special people and will remain so.

Stay safe and warm. Until we meet again tomorrow, thank you for your company. smile moon

Hi lovely kitcheners it’s good to pop in here out of the rain, it’s bucketing down outside and it’s not stopped all day. I got wet on the way to the gym and then wet again in the pool, followed by a lovey relaxing time in the warm bubbling jacuzzi - bliss … I just needed the glass of champagne but sadly that was missing!
Some lovely coastal pictures yesterday muse and blossoming thanks - I’m hoping we can get back on our walking adventure again next year on the South West Coast Path.
Tomorrow we’re off to visit DD1 in Cambridge- so excited as usual. We’re on the Inverness to Luton flight in the morning so a lot quicker than the train this time. Our fun and celebrations will continue for a few more days yet ?
Hoping Sweetie Pie shows up soon soop it must be worrying wondering where she is but maybe she’s just keeping warm somewhere as it’s been so cold
Ive not got an air fryer charley but definitely thinking about something like that .. hope you enjoy using yours and good that the bills are a bit lower ?

Grannmarie Wed 29-Dec-21 16:49:30

Hello, lovely Kitchen people, popping in somewhat belatedly to send good wishes to all, especially those with illness, worries or sorrow. Soop, Annsixty, Hulahoop, flowersflowersflowers, hoping and praying that things improve for you all soon..
Glad you're feeling better Urms, good to hear of people meeting up with loved ones, and now relaxing after all the busyness of Christmas.
I'm thankful that we have now seen all our families and grandchildren over a few days, as our plans were unexpectedly altered by the sad death of DDIL1's beloved Nonna on Christmas night.
This much loved lady, 97 years old and still in her own home, was being cared for by her devoted daughter and granddaughters.
They knew that it was a matter of time, but still a great heartbreak ? to all the family when it happened.
So when we went to visit DS1, DDIL1, DGS1, DGD and Granddog, on Tuesday instead of Boxing Day as planned, we went bearing flowers and Mass cards, as well as all their Christmas gifts. So sad at any time but particularly at Christmas.
I am having a quiet day at home, fire ? on, feet up reading The Man Who Died Twice, I'm enjoying the story and the relaxation after a lot of driving and visiting. We are all doing Lateral flow tests almost daily now.

TOYA, hoping that everyone has some rest and relaxation now, I'll wish you all an early NNGB. ???

NanaandGrampy Wed 29-Dec-21 17:20:58

Nothing exciting Urmaston sadly.

Covid interrupted Christmas again and some health issues have meant we have nothing newsy or exciting to share.

But I have high hopes for 2022 :-)

Hope you are well and looking forward to the new year.

Blossoming Wed 29-Dec-21 18:08:50

No need to apologise Charleygirl I was getting cabin fever having to stay home! I had a feeling you were in Scotland, but my memory is rubbish. Air fryers are brilliant, and they do a lot more than fry.

Nannyfaraway Wed 29-Dec-21 18:11:07

Hello to all you Kitcheners. We are on the way home after spending the past couple of days at DD2 and her partners we were celebrating Christmas number 2. Joe cooked a lovely vegetarian Christmas Dinner on Monday evening

cornergran Wed 29-Dec-21 18:45:47

Hello everyone. Bit grumpy here as my non-covid germs seem to like me and are hanging around. Pleased you’re better urms, my turn soon.

Our covid-son is proper poorly, we’re trying not to worry but it’s hard when we can’t see him. He’s not the best communicator.

Thunk we’re sharing non stop rain charley although it does seem to improve around 4pm just before it gets dark. Determined to go out for some air tomorrow, it would do us both the world of good as long as we don’t have to swim.

Hope you hear with a date soon soop, you cope so well but truly shouldn’t have to. Try not to worry about sweeti pie, she’ll be back if she possibly can.

Take care everyone, TOYA.

Urmstongran Wed 29-Dec-21 18:51:51

‘Evening All’.

We are warm and cosy. Chicken, ham & leek pie in the oven made by M&S. so it’s not just a pie.

We nipped up the road for an alcoholic beverage earlier. My first in a while and I thoroughly enjoyed a whiskey and coke. Just to test it as I’m sure you will appreciate, in preparation for our evening in that bar on NYE with our friends from Bolton who will be staying over. They love we are so near to the bars here - there’s no need of a taxi home that’s for sure!

Doodle Wed 29-Dec-21 19:30:05

Evening all (oops sorry Urms) ? glad you are now able to partake of alcohol again.
Another full on day here ……well I did do the ironing.
soop I do hope Sweetie Pie returns soon just so that you are not worried about her.
Charleygirl your air fryer sounds interesting. Not sure I’ve heard of one of those before I will have to look it up. Glad you are pleased with it though.
Brook have a lovely time with your DD in Cambridge. Hope you’re back in time for seeing in the New Year at the Argy. I thought we might dedicate the night to dear Soop to wish her well. All will be welcome to come and join in with the panto (Aladdin) karaoke and fancy dress.
Grannmarie sorry to hear about your DILs Nona. Sad time for the family.
Cornergran sorry about your son. Hope he is on the mend soon. It’s always a concern when they don’t keep in touch.
Take care all.

Jaxjacky Wed 29-Dec-21 19:31:08

My condolences Grannmarie to your family on such a loss ?
Cheers Urms I hope that went down well ?.
A quiet day, MrJ got the GC’s bikes home and retrieved a big bag of family photos DD had borrowed, that, of course meant I lost some time looking through them!
Cottage pie and veg for dinner, turkey remains are frozen, curry another day.
I remember Inverness airport brook flew to/from there many years ago when my then in-laws lived in Drumnadrochit, have a good journey and a smashing time.
I need to chivvy your postman soop.
Well have a peaceful evening all x

Grandmabatty Wed 29-Dec-21 20:19:17

I've just had turkey curry and there's a plateful for tomorrow. Dd is having a hard time of it. Her, sil and baby gs have shocking colds. They've tested and that's all it is. However baby is being sick and unable to sleep as he's bunged up. He's too young for Calpol so is up all night. I had dgs1 for four hours this afternoon to help out. I'm having him again tomorrow for a while. Hopefully things will settle down soon. Grannmarie I'm sorry for your loss. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with family worries at the moment, but I'm sure it'll all pass. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

muse Wed 29-Dec-21 20:21:50

I hope your DS's recovery from covid quickens to easy your worries cornergran.
The rain has returned again to my little bit of Cornwall. My hopes of another walk this week seems to be disappearing quickly.

I will try to make the Argy on NYE Doodle. Quite some time since I visited accompanied by my pasties. Raise a glass of poteen to me if I'm absent.

Sorry to read about your family's loss Grannmarie ?There will be many memories of Nona.

Lots of memories for you to Jax with those family photos. I love a nostalgic moment or two.

Hope you enjoyed that whisky and coke Urm. I'm practicing with this tomorrow. It arrived today with the Sainsbury's order. I'd quite forgotten I'd ordered it ?

Grannmarie Wed 29-Dec-21 20:24:26

Thank you, Doodle and Jaxjacky, the wee family was quite subdued yesterday, the grandchildren were upset, especially at seeing their Mummy so heartbroken, although she put on a very
brave face for the lunch and opening of presents.
Also, because of the holiday the funeral might not be til mid January, quite unusual in our tradition where funerals more often than not occur within a week.
Cornergran, I hope your son recovers quickly and completely, such a worry.
Brook, safe flight, enjoy New Year in Cambridge with your family.
Soop, fingers crossed ? that Sweetie Pie comes to first foot you soon.?
Doodle, I've not yet visited The Argy, but I have been known to participate in Karaoke after a few small sherries....???...my party pieces are, King of the Road, Leaving on a Jet Plane, and World of our Own ?

Grannmarie Wed 29-Dec-21 20:26:17

Thank you, Muse, I've just seen your post.
