Sorry to hear poor Duncan has had a traumatic afternoon! He looks more settled now ?
singingnutty ?
I was out in the garden this afternoon but got a bit cold so decided to have a lovely deep warm bath with bubbles, scented bath oil and candles. I was wallowing for ages and then got my pjs on and promptly nodded off for over an hour on the sofa Oh my goodness the sooner I get out and about again the better!
Take it easy Blossoming and don’t do too much but well done with changing the curtains

Jaxjacky Tue 14-Dec-21 20:06:00

Blossoming your tenacity and cheerfulness, well, I’m in awe.
I’ve done a drive today, dropped a lady off, picked up ninety minutes later, by which time a water main had burst, road closed and schools were chucking out, nightmare journey, very grateful client.
MrJ cooked tonight (visit to fish and chip shop)! mushy peas were the healthy bit, I’ll have extra fruit with breakfast ?
I love sitting with the lit tree next to me, all cosy, I’ll wish you all a pleasant evening, hope you’re cosy too x

‘Evening All’

I’m a joyous soul tonight. We had to go back to the Trafford Centre for something I’d forgotten yesterday. We walked again. Good exercise. Anyway I got the item then said to himself I want to try on that coat I saw yesterday. I knew at £325 it was out of my budget but we’ve all been here haven’t we ladies? I just wanted to try it on! No harm in a lady looking is there?

We walked through John Lewis to find that all the Ted Baker range now had 50% off. Dear Reader I was thrilled as you can imagine! But ... Would there be one in my size?

Yay! £162 was duly paid for MY NEW COAT ?
My Christmas present from Himself I was told. ?❤️
Lucky me! I do love a bargain (don’t we all?) especially when I’d admired the coat at the full price... and was tempted but knew deep down I couldn’t afford to be so extravagant.

MayBeMaw Tue 14-Dec-21 20:37:36

Oooh! I love a bargain.
Please, please say it’s the pink teddy bear coat? ?

GrannyGravy13 Tue 14-Dec-21 20:39:30

Whoop Whoop Urmstongran enjoy wearing your coat ?

Urmstongran Tue 14-Dec-21 20:43:41

It is Maw‼️ I just couldn’t resist it. Like a rose pink. Lined. Lovely wide lapels, deep pockets.

Here it is. ?

Grandmabatty Tue 14-Dec-21 20:46:46

That is a gorgeous coat Urms which I covet. An excellent bargain.

gillgran Tue 14-Dec-21 20:51:06

That's a great looking coat, Urmstongran. & a bargain too!
Lucky you hadn't bought it when you first saw it at full price!
Enjoy wearing it, you deserve it.

Warm greetings to soop & all you lovely folk.

Urmstongran Tue 14-Dec-21 20:53:02

Thank you GrandmaBatty (and you too GG13!).
It’s so beautifully well made. It’s heavy and will be warm this winter.

I know not everyone likes these teddy coats but honestly this one to me is just gorgeous. I have a rather fetching hat to go with (not my beanie with a bobble from FatFace) so I feel I could look stylish if I try my best.
?

Urmstongran Tue 14-Dec-21 20:56:33

gillgran I know! Just imagine. No don’t - I couldn’t have afforded full price anyway. I only went to try it on and feel it’s luxury. Because I could do that much.

Nannytopsy Tue 14-Dec-21 21:09:18

What a bargain Urms!. I have now written just over half of the cards - into the J section of the address book. Most of our relatives and friends are at the front.
DGD has been asleep for ages, big brother is fighting it. There’s a glass of wine waiting for me downstairs …
Sleep tight everyone ?

Hello Kitcheners
That was the perfect pop up photo singingnutty. Lovely to read about your reaction.

I'm scouring the website for a good bargain Urms. Well done with your result. I've experienced the Manchester climate and that coat will keep the cold winds at bay. My search is for footwear and bedding.

All's quiet on the south western front. I've sorted quite a lot of paperwork today with MrM: all new build related. We aim to start 2022 off with a whoosh of activity.

My DD's daughter has just got a part time job. She stared college last September. Grandma is very proud of her as she's had a tough two years with confidence levels taking a big hit.

I'm on the search through soop's kitchen cupboards for something gooey and sweet.

SueDonim Tue 14-Dec-21 21:32:29

That’s a splendid coat, Urmston! Enjoy wearing it. I’ve got Dh a leather duffle coat for his Xmas. It was fiendishly expensive but I figured he’ll never have to buy another coat, ever. That’s a win:win! grin

Thanks for the house commiserations, Doodle. I did say to my son that I don’t think there’s any such thing as a stress-free house move!

It’s like a laundry here, with all the bedding & towels to do from having the family to stay. Ds1 is back from his sister’s tomorrow and then he leaves to fly to the US on Thursday. Am trying not to think about that.

I got some more present shopping done today and photos printed from our weekend together. One has been put in a frame and can be part of my mum’s Xmas gift.

My cold is easing off now and my nose has stopped running, thank goodness. Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll see the back end of it.

A peaceful evening to you all. Xx

Blossoming Tue 14-Dec-21 21:32:53

Great result Urms and such a bargain!

TillyTrotter Tue 14-Dec-21 22:33:26

Lovely colour Urms. You will enjoy wearing that cosy coat all the more for knowing your DH got it at a bargain price. ?

brook2704 Tue 14-Dec-21 22:50:50

Lovely coat Urms ! Errr can I borrow it when you go to Spain please?

GrannyOwl5 Tue 14-Dec-21 23:11:22

Great coat Urms; shame to leave it in the cupboard when you go to Spain. I’m sure several of us will do you a favour and keep it warm for you when you are basking in sunny climes!

Love the look on Duncan’s face; the simmering fury of a cat with a long memory! We lost our lovely 13 year old ginger boy three weeks ago as he gradually faded away from a longstanding condition. His sister is beginning to get used to life without him, but we all miss him dreadfully.

Admin day today which has resulted in lots of paperwork to be sorted out, but kept us out of mischief.

Hope you all have a good night

maddyone Tue 14-Dec-21 23:16:47

Hello everyone, I’m just popping in to see what you’ve all been up to.
That coat will keep you very warm and cosy Urmston. And half price too, I love a bargain.
Take care and sleep well everyone.

MayBeMaw Tue 14-Dec-21 23:55:46

Bother -I have been “pinged”
It must have been either the train to or from Birmingham or else the theatre (Nutcracker)
LFT was negative, but I have booked a PCR for tomorrow to be on the safe side.
If I were + I would feel really bad as I have been to two Christmas lunches in the last week, and had friends round for tea yesterday and another couple for lunch today.
No symptoms so I am fairly sure I’m fine but I won’t know till Thursday ☹️?

Nannytopsy Wed 15-Dec-21 00:05:59

That’s a bummer maw! I was pinged months ago but didn’t ever turn positive. Fingers crossed for you.

kittylester Wed 15-Dec-21 06:57:30

Sorry you have been pinged maw. Hope that's as bad as it gets!!

Love the coat Urms. That's just my colour!

I have written all my Christmas cards Topsy - finished the month Sunday. I really must get round to posting them! blush

brook2704 Wed 15-Dec-21 07:08:35

On blummin heck maw hoping your test comes back negative

GrannyGravy13 Wed 15-Dec-21 07:16:04

TillyTrotter Wed 15-Dec-21 08:06:12

I will too Maw ? Good Luck ?

multicolourswapshop Wed 15-Dec-21 08:44:41

Good morning everyone from a dry and windy overcast east coast of Fife. where I’m snug as a bug in a rugwink hoping today is going to be stress free, at least my dhs Covid test came back negative and that was a great sigh of relief, the antibiotics prescribed to him on Monday are working a treat. He’s back confusedbut he’s still having to take things easy., and he’s to DAE AS HES TELT.

Take care all partygoers, enjoy what the day brings just play safe thanks
