Good morning everyone from south Manchester where (now I’m awake) it’s bright, dry and mild out. Again we have no plans. Nice. I think I fancy either another walk or maybe cross the road, get on the train into Deansgate (4 stops) and go to the cinema at lunchtime at ‘Home’. I’ll have a look at the listings. Film first then food next in town sounds good. Himself won’t fancy it - we like very different films. I might ring a friend depending on what’s showing.

Enjoy Tuesday all who can. Here’s Matt. I’m off to read your doings now!

Marydoll Tue 14-Dec-21 09:27:13

ES, you would be surprised at how little time I have left! I just keep that info to myself, no point in upsetting my friends and family. That's why I intend to live my life to the full, at the moment. Wallowing wastes so much energy and precious time.

Shuffling around the drive at 1am, is what I was doing. It was DH and the neighbours, who were running around the street.

I hope you have a reasonably pain free day today. ?

Barmeyoldbat Tue 14-Dec-21 09:25:31

Good morning all from Somerset, grey but dry outside. I am lying in bed having a drink and a lazy day. The last few days have been a nightmare, my dil just dropped down dead in front of her family at breakfast time on Saturday. So you can imagine what it’s like. One of the gd living at home is not jabbed and refuses to do so, so I have refused to meet up with her as I have lungs that are being attacked by antibodies. She is now saying I am hateful for not meeting her when she needs me, it’s all such a mess. Anyway Mr B has just gone out on some secret mission, probably to buy my present and I am meeting him for a coffee at 11 as we can sit outside because it’s dry. Have a lovely trip Pantglas, I will think of you with envy when I am sat outside in the cold drinking my coffee, stay safe everyone.

Good Morning All x.
Thick fog when I woke up earlier, fortunately it's all but dispersed leaving a somewhat brighter day than yesterday when we eventually had rain. It doesn't appear to be too cold.

D rang yesterday upset that she can't go to one of the children's carol concerts because of isolating. I can't risk anything like that and the child's mother is working. This pandemic has dashed everything for us, such a nuisance.

To think I went to all my own children's concerts then the GC's ( even in Oz ) and because of the pandemic I can't go to the GGC's concerts in my late years. sad I'd better get out of this mood it'll do me no good.

Windows need cleaning so I'll whizz around. Because I have the transom window open more often than not, one of the cats jumps up and slides down the glass before landing on its sill so streaks of paw marks entail.
Dusting can wait as the cards on the mantle-piece hide that grin.

I can see loads of cobwebs---outside on the " leaning " fir tree. The poor tree took a battering with the winds the other week so it'll have to be sorted before another blast or I'll not be able to get out into the garden as it's outside the patio door. A couple of staves should do it.

Must finish wrapping, my bedroom looks like a grotto as it is so it's no use trying to tidy up in there until the New Year ( my excuse ).
Asda list going in today so at least I can get that out of the way.

Bertie, one of the cats keeps jumping up on my knee so I'm writing this in fits and starts. He won't leave my side at all and there's glaring glances coming from Suzie cat, the part Persian, who's my real favourite and so knowing.

Crumpets await before I get stuck in to some work so they'll set me up for the next couple of hours.

Marydoll what can I say, except look after yourself. x I can't imagine anyone telling me that I can't be " repaired ".

Have a good day everyone and safe journey Pantglas xx.

Good morning from North Wales.
pantglas did you see me waving as you whizzed by on your way to Manchester.
Think it was you but the champagne bottle obscured some of your face.
Have a lovely time.✈️
I need to get moving. Put my boots on and start walking.
Have a peaceful, pleasant day everyone.

Good morning from a mild, damp, grey Colchester.
Tuesday is the day that I volunteer in a charity shop. I then come home and flop.

I haven't read all the posts but want to wish Baubles a Happy Birthday ?

Love to all xx

baubles Tue 14-Dec-21 08:51:14

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s 5* and raining.

It’s my birthday today and I’m inexplicably feeling rather melancholy, perhaps just the passing of the years. DD has said she’ll come over after work, I’m hoping she brings a child or three or four but it’ll probably be too late for the little ones. DH and I will have lunch out somewhere local which will be lovely I’m sure.

Lots of busyness on here this morning, enjoy!

Wishing everyone a peaceful day as always.

ginny Tue 14-Dec-21 08:50:16

Good morning all from a mild N. Bucks.
There will be an early quick visit from Dd3 and baby and then I ‘m off to the hairdresser.
Priorities today are Christmas cards, decorations and trying to finish making Charlie’s stocking.
Hoping Tuesday is good to you all with some smiles along the way.

harrigran Tue 14-Dec-21 08:47:49

Good morning from a dry and mild NE.
DD already working online from the music room and I am expecting an oven repair man to visit this morning.
All of yesterday was spent working in the study with SIL, we were attempting to get a dealership to buy DH's car. A manager rang after 6pm and said they had the full spec and service record so would.do some calculations and ring back today.
All those with plans, enjoy.

Oops completely forgot to give this mornings weather report where the wind is blowing quite gently out beyond these blinds here on the east coast of Fife not quite sure just yet about the temperature. The road seems to be pretty busy with morning traffic I wonder if folks have a premonition about the possibility of new restrictions coming out today something foreboding perhaps, to safeguard the country. If it has to be it has to be. sad
Sorry for the sharp exit on yesterday’s good morning post, my carer came in rather sharpish. I’ve got a good few tv recordings on hold waiting for me to watch today guess I’ll be having a rest day grin waiting waiting for the third vaccine and flu jab shock

Jaxjacky Tue 14-Dec-21 08:39:23

I have everything crossed your oven will be fixed Grammaretto it’s taken such a long time ??.

Anniebach Tue 14-Dec-21 08:39:20

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Forsythia Tue 14-Dec-21 08:36:14

Good morning from a wet drizzly south London. Off to see West Side Story later today and looking forward to it. We are in limbo as we are moving house next month and I can’t seem to get focussed on Christmas much this year. Must get my act together.
Best wishes to all.

multicolourswapshop Tue 14-Dec-21 08:35:13

Good morning everyone yesterday was a bit of an upheaval for this household here in the east coast of Fife where my dh had an early GP appointment then he was sent by his GP to get a Covid test. Thankfully it’s come back negative and we can all breathe again especially himself who was given an antibiotic which seems to be of great help. I think of those poor souls who don’t use technology. How do they manage? and the electric was off for a short while as the engineers worked away on the line thank heavens for 4g on the phone which kept me in touch with the outside world. I’ve now heard from the horses mouth that home visits to be given the final vaccines are going ahead this week. I’ll be waiting [hmmm]

Thinking today of those poor souls in need, hugs to you all flowers

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 14-Dec-21 08:30:32

Typical - don’t know where the plant photo came from!!

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 14-Dec-21 08:29:11

Good morning all from Harrogate
Yesterday the cardiologist reassured me no need to panic yet - maybe after a few more tests!!
Our mini birthday ? part went well. I do make a cake with candles for DD2 but DGS insisted they were for him and wow betide anyone else blowing out the candles! He gobbled up his tea and the cake (What a mess). He loved
our Christmas ? tree as well.
He had been to the hospital to have his eyes tested, eyes are a common problem with Down Syndrome
Today it’s GDDs turn, we are picking her up from school, giving her tea then taking her home again.
Have a great journey Pantglas hope you are not staying at the same Hotel as we stayed before flying off. There was so much mould on the window, curtains were not necessary!!!
Might be closed down by now!!
Have a great day everyone

Grandmabatty Tue 14-Dec-21 08:28:13

Good morning all from Polmont. 6° and windy today. I'm not worth a button as I had a bad night and have decided to have a lazy day. I suspect it was totally self inflicted as I had cheese and crackers for supper. Have a good day all.

LauraNorderr Tue 14-Dec-21 08:20:25

Good morning Mick and all from darkish and misty Anglesey.
Today is our grandson’s fourth birthday and his beautiful and brave mummy’s last chemo session before her mastectomy in January. We will all go into complete and splendid isolation from today so that we can spend a safe and happy Christmas together.
Bon voyage Pant. No weather warnings from here until your return.
Hope your back improves Beechnut and you can get the rest of the decorations on the tree.
Enjoy little get togethers, BlueSapphire, Grandmadinosaur and anyone else meeting up with friends, such a tonic.
Be careful around those potholes Mick, perhaps they’ll be dealt with now that they’ve had publicity.
Wishing everyone a jolly good day with at least one ?

Grammaretto Tue 14-Dec-21 08:09:43

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I have just put my df on a bus as she has to go home to the Highlands today. It was very windy but mild outside.

I am undecided about decorations. I have DGD's homemade wreath on the front door but as it is just me is there any point in going through the motions ? Cards are starting to arrive so I may put them up to pretty the place.

The place is still a mess. I have to evacuate my kitchen today as I am really hoping a gas engineer will connect up my new cooker.

Whether packing for holidays, shopping for Christmas, queuing for vaccines or just getting through the day. I wish you all well.

Marydoll Tue 14-Dec-21 08:07:06

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it's 7°, 16° would be positively tropical, Gaga ??

Reading all, this talk of posting cards, prompts me to sing the praises of Royal Mail. My close cousin's daughter had a baby girl last week, a few months after her father died of Covid, a bitter sweet moment indeed.
I posted gifts on Saturday and they were delivered yesterday, two days later! I had expected the parcel to take weeks, or go missing!

Yesterday's visit to the GP lasted nearly an hour, the news was not so good. Nothing can be done for me, if at all, until the tests come back and some new investigations have been done at the hospital. RA is a totally destructive disease, which is doing its worst just now to my body.
I have official permission to be a #lazy gran for the foreseeable future! ?

I had paperwork, I didn't want to trust to Royal Mail, to hand in to our Diocesan Offices, so DH kindly offered to take me there after the doctor's visit. That was a big mistake! The funeral of a deceased Bishop was taking place in the adjoining cathedral and we got caught up in the middle of it all!
I had forgotten about the funeral, but DH was surprisingly patient, when he was got stuck in the car park, unable to park and unable to move!! I should have checked! ☺
I have never seen so many priests, (many whom I knew,) all in the one place before! There must be a collective noun for so many priests. What about a mass of priests??

My dear friend and neighbour , who is asthmatic, was sent home from the nursery, where she works, yesterday. A close contact, a colleague has tested positive for the Omicron varient. My friend is at her wits end and awaiting a PCR test result, since she has a recently born, premature grandson and she has been supporting her daughter. It is scary that it is now so close to home.

Wishing Pants a safe journey and those with plans, an enjoyable day. Those of you who are struggling, hoping you have a gentle day. ?

Grandmajean Tue 14-Dec-21 08:04:27

Morning all from Cheshire.
Mild here too. Am dithering about a trip to an M and S food shop. Must go at some point but am wary of the infection rate being so high.
Hope you feel better soon Beechnut
