Our great aunt is 93 and in a care home.(no other family)
After a fall a few weeks ago her health has deteriorated.
Last Friday the nurse on her unit told us that they were just
making her comfortable.
She is full of fluid and is hardly able to keep anything down.
Surviving on soup and ice cream.
By Tuesday she was in bed and didn't have the energy to get up.
A GP has been out every other day. Lots of antibiotics given.
Yesterday was the same staying in bed.
What a difference today she was sitting in her chair had been given a
shower. Plus she had a list of shopping for me to get.
The nurse has tried to say that either the antibiotics have started working
or it might be a resurgence before the end.
She is still only eating soup and ice cream.
When talking to DA today she was planning what summer clothes she will need.
This lady in the last 8 years has had a hip replacement, heart surgery, covid and shingles.
Kidney failure and diabetic.
