Which coffee machine to buy……….?

We have a DeLonghi which does the same- you pour beans into container on top (lasts about 3 -5 days or more) and it grinds them as you go, and to your taste. Also has water container. Would never have a machine that uses pods that are so difficult to recycle and cause a lot of pollution.

We have a Lakeland machine that will process beans or ground coffee it was around £100.
It makes good coffee and no plastic pods!

I am a big coffee drinker and love it very hot and very strong without milk (I know so bad for me) Lavazza for preference. I have several machines and have come back to a French press in stainless steel - £24 from Amazon - best coffee ever and stays nice and hot.

I've had a deLongi Nespresso pod machine for about 8 years. It has been really good but is starting to play up. It is simple and a good size to keep on the bench or as I do in a cupboard. I use the LOR pods which are readily available in supermarkets here. Costco also sell them for a good price.

I pretty much always have a cappuccino and have been happy with the quality. I'm not an expert do like a nice coffee. I do a double shot by inserting a second pod and using the small extraction after making the coffee.

Machine is easy to clean and fill.

I'll probably buy a DeLongi Latissamo One or DeLongi Latissamo Touch which are very similar when I replace it

We have a Nespresso Vertuo and milk frother and we love it. We are very particular about coffee. We used to have a Philips but this is much better and they pick up the pods from your doorstep free for recycling.

What is stove pot moka pot please?

If you want one that will crush the beans you are looking at expensive and fancy!

In the past I've had Gaggia, De Longhi and Francis Francis. All worked perfectly well for arpound £100. I had a Nespresso for a while. It made really good coffee but expensive and such a faff ordering the coffee pods. It's easier now that so many shops sell compatible coffee pods.

Now I just use a stove pot moka pot. 50 million Italians can't be wrong!

I'm the only person in our house who drinks coffee and I do love a good, strong “real” coffee.
I have a Nespresso machine which uses the original line capsules (not the new Vertuo pods). I find it very convenient as the right amount of coffee comes sealed in an aluminium (fully recyclable) pod. Otherwise, it would be such a hassle to keep fresh beans fresh and grind in sufficient quantity to use just for me.
My machine also has a milk steamer which I love as I regularly drink cappuccino coffees.
I bought my machine outright but Nespresso do offer a monthly plan where the machine is purchased along with pods. There is a wide variety of coffee pods so just about every taste catered for. Added bonus, the machine is simple enough for my DH to use so he can make me a coffee!
