So DH doesn’t stand for daft husband then? My bad grin

I don’t use them but when reading them always say the dear part in my head which really irritates

MissAdventure Thu 30-Dec-21 21:26:08

Also agree BlueBelle as we have said many times before

Agreed BlueBelle- daft!

BlueBelle Thu 30-Dec-21 20:28:47

Just don’t use them they aren’t compulsory
I don’t use them and as for putting dear and darling it s all total nonsense to me

Sometimes it takes me so long to remember what abbreviation to use that it is quicker just to type it in full! Depends how good your keyboard skills are, and whether you are using a laptop or fiddly Smartphone...smile

Thank you. I’ll look at the acronyms tab, and just put “darling” before each of them. DH, DD,DS ?

DH dear husband. (Darling, damn insert appropriate word)
SIL A bit dodgy, this one. Can mean sister in law or son in law (Presumably not dear)
AC Adult children.
DS Dear son.
DD dear daughter.

See “Acronyms” - on the left at the top of the page

I’m at a loss what all the abbreviations are that are being used on here.

I get what DiL, SiL are, but what about DH for example?

I work with plenty of abbreviations at work - but the ones on here have me stumped!
