Caused discussion yesterday, found in box of crackers. Have no idea what it's for. Can anyone shed any light?

I think it’s a gadget for getting Boy Scouts out of horses’ hooves! grin

Those mini screw drivers are handy to have around the place. The mini packs of playing cards, too. Fun for children.

Does it say on the box 'contents' list?

Letter opener

I think it's a mini letter opener. I was gutted not getting a curling fish, although my little measuring tape will come in handy. My sister asked why she got 2 screws until she put her glasses on and realised they were golf tees grin. Too much wine me thinks ?

H1954 crossed posts. I didnt realise it was such a common problem. ??

I keep them hidden from my husband so they dont disappear....
This made me chortle, Liz46 sounds like my house.

JaneJudge Sun 02-Jan-22 12:13:59

it looks like a murder weapon, was there a lead pipe and a candlestick in the others?

H1954 Sun 02-Jan-22 12:12:48

I also secretly hid a set of miniature screwdrivers that I had in a cracker one Christmas. This was after my collection of sewing machine screwdrivers began to dwindle.........investigations led to them being discovered in my OH toolbox.
When my Dad died I saved a set of clockmakers screwdrivers - no idea why Dad had them - and they've been really handy too as they're very small at the 'tips' but somewhat longer than mini screwdrivers...........and OH can keep his hands off! ??

What make of crackers were these? Wondered where you bought them in case they are on sale?

SueEH Sun 02-Jan-22 12:01:38

As my granny used to say, it’s a thing of purpose smile

Christalbee Sun 02-Jan-22 12:01:02

Letter opener??

Rainwashed Sun 02-Jan-22 11:53:41

My first thought was half a pair of scissors too.

Gajahgran Sun 02-Jan-22 11:52:40

I think it's a paper knife too but it does seem to be in the style of half a pair of scissors. I still use a pack of tiny screwdrivers from a cracker and also a very small pair of folding nail scissors still in use.

GreenGran78 Sun 02-Jan-22 11:45:18

I also vote for paper knife. I once had to send our original Wedding Certificate off to a Government department. Only half of it was returned, neatly sliced by a paper knife!?

Shirls52000 Sun 02-Jan-22 11:32:43

Looks like a letter opener

Daffydilly Sun 02-Jan-22 11:24:43

If you still have the original box, it sometimes says (in tiny print) what the novelty gifts are. It's worth a look.

Tanjamaltija Sun 02-Jan-22 11:20:08

Something to make holes in leather? Lucky pendant? Ring knife? To score cardstock so you fold it neatly?

BellaT2 Sun 02-Jan-22 11:15:07

Please tell us what brand of crackers! I am fed up buying tat.

Twopence Sun 02-Jan-22 11:11:28

Pretty sure it's a paper knife.

Juicylucy Sun 02-Jan-22 11:04:06

Does it not say on the back of the box, I thought posh crackers gave a description of the contents.
I loved curly fish to.

4allweknow Sun 02-Jan-22 11:03:47

Whatever it is looks rather dangerous to be in a cracker.

Teddy123 Sun 02-Jan-22 10:54:32

Everything out of our crackers always gets chucked in the bin. We only like the jokes guessing game for the answer.

GolferGrandma Sun 02-Jan-22 10:47:49

I suppose the box has been discarded now, but if there are pictures of contents you could see if it should have been a pair of scissors - and you only got half! Otherwise my guess is a mini paper knife.
