As a teenager I loved crispy bacon with marmalade.

Banana and crisp sandwiches.

Corned beef and crisps sandwich ?
Mackerel or salmon pate on cold toast ?

Ham and eggs.

Grating of nutmeg on cabbage sounds interesting, merlot. Must try that. My go to spices for wok fried cabbage are turmeric, ground cumin and ground fennel seed.

*Peanut butter* is my weakness. It goes with so many things. My favourite is marmalade but will also go with honey, jam, bananas, date spread and probably many more.

I had a craving for slices of sour apples smeared with peanut butter when I was pregnant.

Grated cheddar mixed to a paste with mayonnaise, then spread on marmite toast.
Grill until the cheese has melted to goo and the top has browned.
Delish!

mushrooms and garlic ,cheese and mustard,cheese and raw onion sandwiches .My late Dad used to eat onion sandwiches ,or a piece n onions with salt .When I was pregnant I ate tons of them my OH had to hold his breathe when he passed me in the kitchen eating them in secret.I spent a fortune on mouthwash .

Years ago a friend who lives in Somerset told me shredded sprout and marmite sandwiches were a West Country delicacy.

I tried it in DS’s school lunchbox but I found out later he’d fed them to his pet rabbit. ?
