New year clearout - off to a lively start

I have sorted out the freezer - hurray! - binning lots of things I clearly do not want to eat (or I would have eaten them) and freeing up a bit of space .
Next should be the fridge but I seem to have used up my energy quotient for today- or maybe for January!

I'm waiting for some sunshine to reappear to give me some energy. This dull, grey damp weather puts me in hibernation mode.
All I'm doing now is making a list of things that need doing and it's such a looooooong list smile

The charity shop pile is teetering but I ran out of batteries when tackling the drawers of old laptops, leads, odds & sods, things, files, keys, more things!

Then there is the cupboard that used to house an immersion heater - that's stuffed with planks of wood, picnic baskets, pots of paint. Gawd it's all too much.

Tomorrow is another day smile

I just sorted out all the felt tips/ crayons and colouring pencils that my GC have accrued. Kept the pencils and chucked the rest. Have bought them new felt tips. That’s all the effort I can make today,

BlueSky

Will do all that tomorrow, today is still part of the festivities! wine

My thoughts too BlueSky. A full on New Year's Day dinner with a joint of Sirloin cooking nicely as I type.
Happy New Year everyone smile wine

I went to put rubbish in the outside bin and spotted a weed. An hour later I came in for a cuppa after clearing half a bed. Second half soon while the sun is shining. We have daisies on the lawn it's so warm!

I did throw out a lot of clothes and toys before Christmas ?

Perhaps I'll get DGD to help me but that will probably mean all the toys will go back in the boxes!

GagaJo Sat 01-Jan-22 11:25:03

DGS woke me up at 7am ? ? although I have already now taught one online lesson.

Tree has been down for a few days already, and there are PILES of books / old toys to go to the charity shops. Which were closed all this week. I'm itching to get rid of the stuff!

I did clean around the decorations yesterday but my GUAG has disappeared too

Things to do, must buck up.
Certainly not decluttering just yet although I do think about it sometimes.

Sat having a coffee here. I was out with the dog at 7.30 because she was agitating, got back at 8.45 and cleaned through the house. Second load of washing is on, two more to do.
Lunch is njuda and sausage lasagna with salad followed by fresh fruit salad and ice cream I think.
Apart from another dog walk later I hope to have a quiet afternoon.

I feel energised even though we didn't get to bed until 2am very late getting up for me at 8 but the weather puts a spring in your step
No wild parties last night but a lovely meal out and saw the new year in with a couple of family members.

Kim19 Sat 01-Jan-22 10:04:46

Is it morning yet?!!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 01-Jan-22 10:02:08

Oh dear, I am still lazing in bed watching James Martin and scrolling GN…

M0nica Sat 01-Jan-22 10:01:59

I have just cancelled my cousin coming to lunch because I woken up feeling unwell. No symptoms of COVID, just feeling under the weather.

One advantage, a low start at the beginning of the year means that things can only get better.

Beechnut Sat 01-Jan-22 09:53:31

After reading your post Riverwalk I thought I should get out of bed.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 01-Jan-22 09:49:46

Crikey I’ve only just got up.

annie61 Sat 01-Jan-22 09:39:15

Reading that made me tired. I'll make more coffee I think, then back to the sofa grin

Riverwalk Sat 01-Jan-22 09:27:35

The tree is down, lights & baubles packed away and fridge cleaned. Charity shop book pile has been added to and about to start on a wardrobe clearance.

It's sunny and mild and there's a spring in my step, for now, don't know how long it will last! smile
