Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but its dry here in brackley this morning .
Today , apart from preparing lunch , I will watch TV for awhile.
My trip yesterday went to plan , meeting a friend on the bus to Buckingham, and having a catch up chat .
Take Care,

Good Morning All x.
Bright and breezy so far, no frost but a good drying day if I'd done my washing !
A bit of a disturbed night as Bertie cat decided to miaow ? loudly to be let out, so I pushed the bedroom window a bit further out and off he went ( pest ) Next thing I heard the " resident" fox yapping so wherever he was the cat must have disturbed him too.

Nothing on the agenda today apart from my Sunday dinner of which the leg of lamb is " doing " in the oven. Roasties and new pots with mushy peas and sliced carrots then an apple or orange for afters as I won't have much room left for a cooked pudding.

I found a string bag of limes and lemons yesterday underneath a bag of potatoes, so I've squeezed them all and made a juice. I'd bought them from M&S Christmas week so they were still okay. I'd forgotten about them.

D will have a bit of peace tomorrow as the older children are back at school. The 3 younger ones went back last week, so I'm hoping to see a bit more of her than of late. I need to put a cheque in the bank from before Christmas too, so she can take me to do that.

Loved the " Matt" cartoon Urms all very appropriate grin I'm sure you're making the most of your lovely break.

Good to hear of your support GrannySomerset, special thoughts to you.
Marydoll my thoughts are with you too. All you can do is rest as much as you can. As I've mentioned before, I've seen RA patients in the past and their " flare-ups " were awful, I really felt for them as all the body was affected. A shocking illness. Here's hoping that everything settles down. x.

Also my thoughts to anyone feeling a bit seedy flowers

Enjoy the day and I hope it's a peaceful one for all. Stay safe xx

I am glad to see GrannySomerset has family support during this sad time xxx

Good morning all from a rainy, dreich day in Glasgow.

I slept for 8hrs for a change and feel the better for it. My alarm, courtesy of DH, was a gentle start to the day listening to the soundtrack of Out of Africa. Beautiful music with an image of the Plains of Africa in my head. One of my favourite films.

As it will be an at home day I plan to do some craft work part of which will be making a 70th birthday card for DH whose birthday is next week and a card for DD2 who will be 45 at the beginning of February.

Your DS sounds like a tower of strength for you GrannySomerset
Hope a restful day in bed helps Marydoll. I trust you have a bell at your bedside to summon your DH whenever a cup of tea is required as you enjoy watching some rubbish TV ?

Best wishes to those with troubles and worries.

Good Morning, nice and bright here so far , my middle son called in earlier , he gets some parcels delivered to me , makes sure I see him occasionally!
Youngest daughter phoned , so he had a chat with her , all this was outside , I got her to phone back after he left so I could wipe down the phone and move back inside
I wasn’t being too particular , but he works in a very busy office with a few off with the virus

Hello ?a dry day from mid Cornwall.
Gentle hugs for Grandmasomerset
Very apt Matt for me Urm. We had our first meter fitted yesterday. Electric. Still doing some self generated power though. There is no piped gas in this bit of Cornwall. All 7 houses down the lane rely on LPG or oil and electric.

Today’s task is starting the very long, horribly messy, odious task of cleaning around our cottage windows. Black mould. Lots of it. ??. Normally a yearly job but we’ve lapsed a bit whilst doing the new build.

Take care Morningsters ??

A bright sunny morning in Oxfordshire, I've just made huge vat of vegetable soup and prepped the roast for tonight's dinner. Off for a long walk now with DH and dog to recharge myself, walking and nature are the equivalent of church for my soul! Will be able to face the week then. Wishing you all a good day; may you find comfort, peace and contentment today.

Good Morning from a sunny but chilly south coast. So far I have been reading the papers and had coffee and now must stir my stumps and do some chores including ironing. Then make lunch.

Nothing else planned for today but I always have a "to do list" to resort to if I feel like action. The feeling doesn't usually last for long. Urms will know what I mean. (#lazygran).

Have the best day you can everyone and I am glad that GrannySomerset has the support of her DS. sunshine

Good morning from clear blue sunny skies in South Yorkshire however still a lot of ice on the frozen fields when we walked the dog. Quick trip to town today to return some trainers (free parking on a Sunday ?) and then family coming for tea this evening... Stew and dumplings at the request of 11 year old DGS1 ?
Have a good day all

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, we might go out for a drive later, we’ve been stuck indoors for far too long.
GD phoned yesterday for a chat, which was as unexpected as it was lovely
GD, Hi Nanny just thought I’d ring you and have a chat
ME, that’s lovely!how are you
GD, I’m fine busy with school and it’s still raining here, I’ve forgotten your Netflix password can you remind me what it it?
ME, it’s #######
GD, thankyou, love you and Grandad lots, byeeeeee
Hmmmmm.
Have a good day everyone, so pleased that you are supported by a loving family GrannSomerset.
Marydollenjoy your day in the warm.
Urms love the cartoons, don’t get too much sun today….

Mapleleaf Sun 09-Jan-22 09:51:03

Good morning all,

It’s a nice, bright start to the day here in South Yorkshire, though very chilly.

A few bits and bobs to do today, but nothing special planned. I think it will be a fairly lazy day.

Take care everyone.

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s wet with some icy patches still on the ground which DH tells me makes walking rather treacherous.

I’m out of isolation today. Hurrah. I’m feeling a lot better, it seemed to lift as the day went on yesterday but I did a lft in the afternoon which interestingly still showed a strong positive. The government site says not to test after the 10th day as the infectious period will have passed so that’s the last I’ll do.

I’m going to get out for some fresh air today if nothing else.

We may get a take away from the Indian restaurant later, perhaps it will give my sense of smell a nudge.

Going back to read the thread now.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday, hope there’s a random ?somewhere.

GrannySomerset Sun 09-Jan-22 09:41:56

R-shirt? Looked all right when I previewed my post. Wish it didn’t do that!

GrannySomerset Sun 09-Jan-22 09:40:52

DS’s presence has been a balm and we have dealt with most of the telephone and email calls to tell people of DH’s death. Just a handful of snail mail letters to deal with. We looked through stacks of old photographs and reminisced and it was just right.

Off to church shortly and an early lunch before DS heads back home. I have treasured his company more than I can say.

Sorry that Marydoll is still so unwell and hope for better next week. Thank you to all the kind and supportive posters, especially those who already have the r-shirt. So helpful.

Happy Sunday Morning from a sunny West Yorkshire! Looking forward to a long walk with hubby. Chicken dinner tonight for us too smile

harrigran Sun 09-Jan-22 09:36:21

Good morning from a sunny and not frosty NE.
Yesterday was a busy day, DD and SIL left during the morning after staying the night. Sister and BIL arrived early afternoon with some shopping and we had our usual glass while we chatted.
DS and family arrived soon after and they were here until 11pm.
I made up a couple of sacks of winter shirts and jumpers and a coat, boots and shoes and BIL said he would take them to a charity that helps the homeless. DH had so many clothes it is going to take a very long time to sort.
Hoping for a quietish day before DD and SIL arrive for dinner tonight.
My thoughts are with GrannySomerset flowers

Morning Mock and all

Blue sky here in S E Essex, it makes one feel so much brighter to not have grey skies.

DD and DH are off to her home today to start packing and dismantling ready for the big move next month. They have been with us for five and a half months I will miss them when they go, but oh the peace…

Roast chicken for dinner this evening along with pigs in blankets requested by the 6yr old.

Sending (((hugs))) to GrannySomerset ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Lins1066 Sun 09-Jan-22 09:12:38

Good morning from a dry corner of the S Welsh coast, blustery though.
We saw our son, his partner and her five year old yesterday. It will be the last time we see them now before their baby is born by C section on Jan 20th, our first grandchild. Our son's partner has been very ill with covid, so hope everything goes well for her.
We will take the little dog for a walk later, he and the five year old had a whale of a time yesterday. Roast lamb for dinner here.
Thinking of GrannySomerset.
Take care everyone.

Good morning everyone from a bright and frosty Northampton, frost on the cars and the summerhouse roof again. Yesterday was heavy rain all day, so a lot of catch-up tv was watched. Cleared a lot of programmes off the tv box. Good news as my rugby team had a brilliant win away; wasn't on tv but shall look forward to watching the tv highlights.

Feeling a bit younger this morning; have spent some time thinking I am a certain age, but realised early this morning that I am in fact a year younger!

Ash, Spirit of Discovery is the ship I am booked on in August! Can't wait!

Nothing planned for today, apart from doing a LFT this evening before I go to yoga tomorrow morning. Will read the papers, do the puzzles, watch tv, and get that letter and card written to my late college friend's husband.

Thinking of GrannySomerset, and all who have worries and cares.

Grammaretto Sun 09-Jan-22 09:09:09

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. It isn't properly light and I hope it doesn't stay this dull. I think it has stopped raining.
I waited in for the roofer yesterday (another leak) but he neither showed up nor returned by messages.
Yesterday I optimistically took my bike to the repair shop and had lunch with friends, one of whom has recently lost her DD to suicide. I am ashamed to say we didn't discuss our losses at all but the 4 course meal was splendid with lots of laughter!

Sending good wishes to all those with worries right now or in pain.

Good morning from a Black Country with a heavy frost, but now bright blue sky and sunny.

It rained most of yesterday, so spent the day doing housework, and tidying out cupboards and discarding junk.
Rang DD, but DGD aged 13 answered so had a good chat with her. Suddenly she is no longer a child but a young woman. When did that happen?

I know so many people now with Covid now, I wonder how I have escaped it so far.

Wishing you all a good day, with love to GrannySomerset

Serendipity22 Sun 09-Jan-22 09:03:39

Good morning from a dry and free from snow Yorkshire. Today is a day of take it as it comes, no plans. I have to say that having no plans doesn't sit well with me because normally i fill my weekly planner up, but obviously today is not so, in that case it looks like a leisurely morning then a drive out somewhere, we never stick fast haha. Maybe an unplanned lunch out in a warm, cozy pub ( loads to choose from)

Whatever everyone's day consists of, i hope its a good one.

smile

Grandmabatty Sun 09-Jan-22 08:58:25

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4°, cloudy skies and quite calm. Yesterday was shopping and housework day so a little ironing to do. I started to feel unwell in the afternoon with a sore throat and a headache. Still here this morning so I'll have to see if dd can put a test through the door, just in case. It's very annoying, whatever it is, as I rarely go out and am always masked. Oh well. Have a good day all.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 09-Jan-22 08:46:55

Good morning from our holiday home in Lancaster ( or just outside to be precise).
It’s a better day than yesterday dry at least.

We are heading home later but will go to Morecambe for a few hours before. I have a longing to walk along a paseo a la * Urms* but it won’t be as sunny or picturesque .
The restaurant here is closed but did us a favour as we found a lovely pub to eat the last couple of nights with friendly staff and delicious food. I am waddling home ?
Take care all.
Will catch up with posts later.

Anniebach Sun 09-Jan-22 08:37:28
