Same here, Kali2. I look just like her and I try to act like her.

My dear old mum was one of those ladies who everyone thinks is going to fade gently away at any minute but actually outlived them all, not sure if that was a good role model or not! grin

paddyann54, to turn into my mother - would be my worst nightmare - having spent my entire life trying to be the complete opposite.

I'd love to, she was amazing.

I really hope I don't turn into my mum. She's not the nicest of women!

I’m turning into my father for much the same reason as you posted! I found myself bemoaning the cost of milk in our local shop compared to the supermarket yesterday. My dad would use his free bus pass to go to all the “best shops” to save a few pennies and could tell us all the cheapest places to get everything.

Today I made soup .Scotch broth made with a lamb shank just like my mother did .Chopped up all the veg soaked the cereals and peas put the lamb shank in the water to boil and looked at the label on the packet.NEARLY £ 7 for a lamb shank!!!
I shouted through to Mr Paddy ,you'll never believe how much this wee lamb shank cost ,£7 .....I remember when I could get one for under a pound in the butcher and often as not he'd just chuck one in for free. Then I laughed because I heard my mother in my head saying the same thing with much reduced prices.
Do we all turn into our mothers as we get older ? I wonder what gem I'll come out with next?
