Sunset over Durham a couple of weeks ago. Stunning - several neighbours stood outside to marvel.

There was an odd yellow light here this evening against a pink/red sky. Was weird

Even in mucky old Gateshead (not so mucky now) the sunsets in the west have been stunning.
Helped by clear skies and calm wind.

Beautiful! We get some lovely sunsets here on the West Coast, but rarely have I seen the northern lights. When I have they were very pale compared to your photos.

The sky where I live went a sulphuric yellow first, then everything went pink. But not nearly as atmospheric as your sky!
