Callistemon21 Sun 13-Feb-22 18:14:55

I call mine a triffid, JaxJacky

The snowdrops are out too. smile

Callistemon21 Sun 13-Feb-22 18:13:15

Thank you Baggs and Marydoll

I shall avoid porridge (but then that's not unusual for me) and have brought six boxes of assorted cream cakes to the kitchen for us to share in solidarity!
Oh! Perhaps I should have brought six dozen boxes?

Thinking of soop and hoping all goes well. ?

Someone gave me an Amaryllis bulb for Christmas, brook, I've never grown one before. It's not quite as advanced as yours but seems to have grown centimetres every day.

Jaxjacky Sun 13-Feb-22 17:39:41

They always remind me of the plant in the Little Shop of Horrors, much prefer snowdrops ?.
The rain, which started about 12 shows no sign of stopping, a dreary day and I’ve been inordinately lazy apart from washing and getting dinner ready.
ttfn.

Nannagarra Sun 13-Feb-22 17:34:26

I keep popping back for news. They’re very much in my thoughts today.

TillyTrotter Sun 13-Feb-22 17:14:42

Such a delicate colour brook , a little like a Stargazer Lily.
I propped up the stem of mine with a wooden spoon as the stem was not growing straight and I thought it might snap off.
It’s as if 4 blooms are too many for the stem, yet they all have 4 trumpet flowers. Love them!

brook2704 Sun 13-Feb-22 17:09:07

Lovely flowers Tilly and ixion thanks for sharing
Hoping everything going ok for soop, I’ve been thinking about her all day whilst I’ve been pottering in the garden doing some general tidying up
My Amaryllis bulb eventually flowered but it’s really top heavy so don’t think it’ll last long but I’ve loved watching it grow!

Aldom Sun 13-Feb-22 15:39:52

Thank you for the beautiful snowdrops Tilly so kind of you. We didn't visit the gardens, it's pouring with rain. Soop's operation should be three hours in by now. I wonder how much longer. Be brave Mr. Soop, we're all thinking of you both. shamrock cupcake

Lots of prayers and good wishes winging their way from all corners of the UK. We are all thinking of soop and I wish her a speedy recovery from her major surgery, I hope Mr soop gets some news before too long. It’s a very anxious time for him.

mumofmadboys Sun 13-Feb-22 14:18:25

Thinking and praying for the Soops today xx

cornergran Sun 13-Feb-22 14:09:19

No visits here either. Only permitted to outpatient appointments in very specific circumstances.

I'll be back later to see if there is any news. Waiting must be more than difficult for Mr Soop.

annsixty Sun 13-Feb-22 13:41:04

No visits at all here except as someone else said end of life.

SueDonim Sun 13-Feb-22 13:36:19

Oh, that’s hard. sad. It’s allowed in this area to be accompanied or have visitors even though the rates have been very high.

Marydoll Sun 13-Feb-22 13:26:14

I don't think hospital visiting is allowed in the NHSGGC area, apart from essential visits.
My DH wasn't allow to accompany me to a hospital appointment a few weeks ago, despite him saying I was unwell. . He had to wait in the car.

muse Sun 13-Feb-22 13:15:54

SueDonim. It may be different at other hospitals but here at the Royal Cornwall Hospital they are not allowed any visitors unless it is special circumstances (end of life or maternity). They have to ring first , book a time, present an up to date test and wear full PPE.

Soop was due for surgery at 12:30. Thinking of MrSoop.

SueDonim Sun 13-Feb-22 13:00:24

Thank you for the message from Soop, Marydoll. It’s a big ask, expecting us to behave! grin

I hope everything is going smoothly and that Soop is soon back in her bed resting quietly. flowers

Is Mr Soop not allowed in at all or just not for the day of the op?

Shinamae Sun 13-Feb-22 12:46:03

I don’t usually contribute to this thread but just sending best wishes to Mr and Mrs Soop ??

Charleygirl5 Sun 13-Feb-22 12:35:03

It is a difficult time for Mr. Soop there is a limit to the number of coffees one can drink while waiting for news. Thanks Marydoll for updating us. All the best soop and sweet dreams.

Dogsmakemesmile Sun 13-Feb-22 12:21:46

Thinking of soop and thinking of everyone thinking of her.

maddyone Sun 13-Feb-22 12:16:18

Thank you Blossoming. I’ll look in later to see if anyone has any news.
Today it is raining. It’s dark and horrid, so I spent the morning in bed, drinking coffee, and messing about on my iPad. I must get a wiggle on and get moving. I have to visit my elderly mother this afternoon so I need to do a test before I go.
Little grandson, nine years old, might have Covid. He’s not ill, just a bit off colour. Daddy took him for a PCR test this morning so we should know by tomorrow. If it’s negative he wants a sleepover at ours as it’s half term next week, but if positive……

Blossoming Sun 13-Feb-22 12:07:30

12:30 today Maddyone

ixion Sun 13-Feb-22 12:07:26

Here are some bulbs for your virtual bedside locker Soop.
White hyacinths.
I will put them in the Kitchen for you to enjoy when you come back ?

maddyone Sun 13-Feb-22 12:01:31

Haven’t visited the kitchen for about a week, so apologies. Is today the day for soop? I had it in my head it was the 16th, don’t know why. I hope all goes well for you soop.
Sending ❤️

TillyTrotter Sun 13-Feb-22 11:39:41

We are all with Mr soop in spirit Marydoll, as their large family will be. I hope he can feel the vibes of love ?
