Hello, Panache. smile

Maddy, I bet that person was so pleased to be reunited with her bag!

Tilly those daffs are gorgeous!

Thank you for all the kind thoughts re the storms. I’ve ordered an indoor camping stove in case it all happens again in the hopes we could at least stay in our house and manage as best we can. Luckily, puss-cat seems unaffected this time and maybe even enjoyed his holiday a bit!

I’ve just spent today trying to catch up with things after all the disruption. I’ve lost track of which day is which - very annoying.

Sweet dreams, everyone. Xx

Urmstongran Wed 02-Feb-22 18:13:55

Apologies Panache I did mean to say it’s lovely to see you posting again. x

Urmstongran Wed 02-Feb-22 18:10:48

‘Evening All’

We’ve just eaten. Delicious ‘oven ready’ food c/o M&S shop this morning. I did bake some tomatoes and dripped them with olive oil to give some semblance of effort on my part.

I’m off to book club in an hour. (The Girl with the Louding Voice - excellent - for any readers amongst us!). Himself is dropping me off at the pub. I should drive but I’ve lost my confidence since last year when I had vertigo with an ear infection. I’m hoping I might get to be brave this springtime. Even the grandchildren were amazed recently that I do actually know how to drive. I might surprise them ... one day.

Dear Panache A very warm WELCOME back to the kitchen.

Welcome home Sue.

Thank you, Tilly for the spirit-lifting golden daffodils.

I have blitzed the bedroom and wardrobes and the rest. Now, well and truly knackered. Serves me right. wink

Early start tomorrow to keep hospital appointment for the infusion of Zoledronic Acid. We should be back shortly after lunch. If you'll have me, may I wander in to play at catch-up?

Must take a shower and prepare for tomorrow.

My love to you ALL. Especially cornergran. flowers

Hello again Panache. On my travels through GN at the moment. You were first on the Lob-stars thread.?What a lovely surprise ?.

dustyangel Wed 02-Feb-22 15:28:06

Good to see you back and feeling like posting Panache.
A big thank you for posting that photograph of daffodils TillyTrotter. Over 20 years ago my Mum died in January and I can remember walking past some local shops and feeling incredibly sad and also the need to have some flowers in the house for me, quite separate from the ones sent in remembrance of my mother. I bought a simple bunch of daffodils and they gave me so much joy and have done ever since.

Yiayia4 Wed 02-Feb-22 15:26:13

Nice to hear from you Panache

Grandmabatty Wed 02-Feb-22 15:11:10

Lovely to hear from you Panache. I'm back from art class where I have started a picture of snowdrops in pastels. I'm quietly pleased with it. I have never used pastels before and I'm not keen on the mess on my hands but it (the picture) is progressing nicely. A cuppa and a pancake then some pottering awaits. Enjoy your afternoon kitcheners.

cornergran Wed 02-Feb-22 14:19:34

Dogsmakemesmile Wed 02-Feb-22 12:32:41

Welcome back Panache. I hope to get to know you better over the next few months. I am sorry the last year has been such an ordeal.
Glad things are better sue though must have been very unnerving.
Maddy everyone should be like you!
Popping in after a few days away. Work and granddaughter called. Now have five days (hopefully) of down time. Ddog just returned from dogwalker's walk. Flat out on sofa. I am building up to walking him all the time. Bought a couple of bunches of daffodils to commemorate Candlemas. Plus lighting some beautiful candles I received for Christmas.

A Happy,Healthy belated New Year to you all.

The prodigal has popped in at last!

Although I have not been a regular or posting very much over last year,I hope to be meet you all more frequently this year.

As many know last year was turbulent yet again and even this year did not start off well, with 7 of our residents going down with covid, certainly when the first lady passed away it was most upsetting.
We were again "contained to barracks!!"

But having come through the difficult first anniversary without the love of my life, followed by Christmas and New Year, plus this covid scare,I aim to get "my act together" and try build some sort of new life.

You have not been forgotten and I am well aware of some of the difficulties many of you deal with, believe me it is surprising how one manages to survive and live to fight another day.

Sending loving thoughts to those in real need, whilst hoping this lovely sanctuary thrives to provide that welcoming haven for so many of us.

I may not yet be back to posting daily, but I certainly aim to keep closer contact.Taking life simply "one day at a time"

Best wishes to you all.

TillyTrotter Wed 02-Feb-22 11:13:58

It’s a slow whizz by your standards and a fast whizz by mine Grandmabatty. ?
I hope you will share the chicken tikka with the kitchen - if there is enough to go round? You will get a lot of takers.

Grandmabatty Wed 02-Feb-22 09:50:56

Tillytrotter ?. No whizzing as such yet! I've had a shower, tidied up the kitchen, made my lunch, organised my art stuff for class and prepared tea which will be homemade chicken tikka. Is that whizzy enough??

TillyTrotter Wed 02-Feb-22 09:08:47

Popping in to this very busy kitchen - any tiffin left please?
Maddy you deserve a good citizen award for your efforts with the lost bag.
soop no more cleaning please. You will be worrying Mr soop and we don’t want that. Can you please sit quietly - perhaps encouraging Sweetie Pie into your sitting room to relax with you? - and gather strength for your upcoming operation.
SueD glad your ordeal is over!
Grandmab you have probably recharged your batteries and are whizzing about like a whirling dervish putting me to shame.
Just a visit to the Theatre for me this afternoon. Am looking forward to it - it has been 3 months since I last went.
TOYA. and leaving little bunch of yellow loveliness for you all to enjoy. Spring flowers in a winter jug ?

Nannytopsy Tue 01-Feb-22 23:16:31

Glad you are home SueD and well done for reuniting the lady with her bag Maddy.
I have just caught up with the last 3 pages - slow down please! It has been terribly windy here today but calming down now. Hoping to finish clearing the raised veg beds tomorrow, before it gets colder at the end of the week.
Sleep tight everyone ?

brook2704 Tue 01-Feb-22 21:47:53

Oooh good news Sue and good news Maddy??
Thats some picture Sue .. certainly looks like your areas taken a battering.. let’s hope that’s the end of the storms for a good while now

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Feb-22 20:25:08

Crossed post SueD glad you’re home safe and sound.

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Feb-22 20:22:35

Well that is good news maddy a satisfactory conclusion.
No magic wand corner but good wishes, a hug and fingers crossed are sent from me to you.
I had a lovely client to drive today, longer drive than usual, we chatted all the time, a pleasure.
We’ve just eaten a chicken dish where I bunged some bits together with chicken to marinade/sauce, it was lush, I’ll probably never recreate it, often happens.
You’ve put me to shame soop cleaning cupboards, I wipe mine if something’s spilt, now you must go gently.
Have a pleasant evening all, I often think of panache and hope she’s well x

SueDonim Tue 01-Feb-22 20:21:25

Hello, Kitcheners. I’m back home again, thank goodness. The power seems ok, no lights flickering despite the winds still blowing. The fridge freezer was making ominous beeping sounds but I’ve checked the temps using my meat thermometer (who knew a meat thermometer went as low as minus 18??) and it seems to be working now.

We’ve one end cap to a ridge tile come off but I think that’s all the damage we have. Not so for the countryside around us, where some areas are devastated in every direction. There’s been precious little help from anyone, either Holyrood or councils. People are trying to cope on their own with some catering businesses etc really stepping up to the mark to help out. ?

Stay safe and warm, all!

Grandmabatty Tue 01-Feb-22 19:43:22

That is good news maddyone. I have had a lazy day so I'm hoping tomorrow I am more motivated to do things. Have a good evening Kitcheners.
