Good afternoon kitchen friends. Thanks to Urmston for bringing sunshine back from ??.
It has been cold today, but daylight remained until past 5 pm - Hallelujah!
Spring is on it’s way we just have to wait a little longer.
Snow in Polmont Grandmabatty? please conserve some energy to keep you warm.
Have a nice evening everyone. X.

I've only just seen your good news Soop. So pleased for you and Mr. Soop. Stay safe and well for the next three weeks. Keeping fingers crossed for you. flowers

Back inside ladies. It is baltic here! So the garden tidy lasted half an hour. Apparently snow is forecast for Sunday. Chicken pox Charlie has more spots on his face but seems neither up nor down. I'm warming up before I decide what to do next. A boy of light knitting perhaps or a snooze?

Gagagran Thu 27-Jan-22 14:07:11

You must be feeling better Grandmabatty! Hope your energy levels are not about to rapidly diminish. Mine have just reading what you have been up to!

Count down time now Soop and time to get organised for your big day. We will all be supporting you from afar. Such a relief that you can be sorted out at last.

Urmstongran Thu 27-Jan-22 13:51:40

Pace yourself woman.

Grandmabatty Thu 27-Jan-22 13:47:28

Thank you Urms. I'm heading out to the garden shortly to tidy up there. I'm on a roll!!

Grandmabatty

It's a beautiful day here in Polmont too. I haven't got a wash out as I don't want to tempt fate, but I've tidied the kitchen, been to Aldi and picked up more storage boxes. Then filled them with the last of art materials. Every wardrobe and cupboard has been emptied then sorted. I've hoovered throughout. It doesn't take long in my bungalow. I'm having a cuppa then a small ironing is required. I am not sure what I'll get up to this afternoon. Maybe knitting, maybe sewing, maybe trying out new pastel crayons. Have a good day all.

All before noon too Grandmabatty! I’m exhausted just reading about your activities!

Joking apart, it’s great to see you’ve got your mojo back after your recent illness.

Hello you kind kitcheners.

?For your three friends maddyone. Thank you for being there for them.

Fantastic news soop. It must be about four months since you told us about your visit to Ross Hall and now you have a date.?

Snugs the word SueDonim?. I'm back to two thick layers today. I'm sat around too much at the moment looking at a screen or wandering in and out of a cold new build.

On our third quote with the kitchen people. The problem is every time we change something, it pushes the price up. I thought last night that I've been so busy with my own kitchen, I'd not visited soop's kitchen for ages. Six days !!?. I have caught up with a few days now. Off to read some more.

Morning. Beautiful blue and breezy day here. Second wash about to be hung on line. Lentil soup made. Dough rising. A few phone calls to make but taking it easy.
Sue you must be relieved the family are doing (relatively) well. Fingers crossed.
Take care everyone. Stay safe.

maddyone Wed 26-Jan-22 23:22:26

Brilliant news soop now that you’ve got a date. It won’t be long.
SueDomin very glad to hear your family aren’t too badly affected.
Urms welcome home.

I went to see a friend this afternoon. She’s just had surgery for breast cancer, but she’s pretty good. Two my friends have been diagnosed with cancer recently and both undergoing treatment now.

Sleep well everyone.

Charleygirl5 Wed 26-Jan-22 22:42:17

soop you must look after yourself and stay indoors. You must not be catching any lurgies before the big day.

If you can, please get your hospital suitcase sorted first. I am sure the owners of the next pet portraits will understand that you come first.

Sweetiepie will miss you but you will not be away for long.

Are you being admitted on the 13th for surgery the following day?

The next 3 weeks will fly by and you will soon be home again, post-op pain being your only worry and that will soon pass.

dragonfly46 Wed 26-Jan-22 22:13:42

Fantastic news soop it will be here in no time!

NfkDumpling Wed 26-Jan-22 22:07:23

Oh, Soop, wonderful news! That's so quick! You'll be in having those pre op tests before you know it.

Granniesunite Wed 26-Jan-22 22:03:38

Don’t normally post here soop but fingers and toes crossed that all will go well in February and thereafter life will be easier for you…

Isint the internet just wonderful when you can can keep up with virtual friends and rejoice at their happiness.

CanadianGran Wed 26-Jan-22 21:54:15

Soop, I'm so glad your operation date is confirmed. I hope you stay well and in not too much discomfort until then.

Hellogirl1 Wed 26-Jan-22 21:21:38

Brilliant news about your operation date Soop. I`ll be in London for the Strictly tour, but will be thinking of you xx

kittylester Wed 26-Jan-22 20:16:46

soop, brilliant news about your op! I'm so pleased but sxpect you are a bit of a dither. It will be fine.

SueDonim Wed 26-Jan-22 20:11:09

Welcome home, Urms! I hope you’ve been reinvigorated by your break. smile

Thank you for the thoughts for my Covid-stricken family members. No one is too poorly for now, they’re just feeling a bit cold/flu-ey for now. Hope that’s as bad as it gets. ?

No decluttering today, I’m not entirely sure why, I just didn’t get round to it. There’s always tomorrow! I did have a long phone chat with my oldest friend this afternoon, which was lovely.

I popped into town to post a parcel and stopped off for cake and a hot choc. It was needed. The car thermometer said 8.5deg but it was bitterly cold. ?

Staying in the warm this evening then bed with a hot water bottle, I think. Stay snug, everyone! Xx

Dogsmakemesmile Wed 26-Jan-22 20:02:25

Fabulous photo Urms. Uplifting.

Jaxjacky Wed 26-Jan-22 19:32:51

GS had a -ve PCR txt sent early today, so all back to school, including DD who’s eye is feeling much better.
Best wishes to your family sueD I hope they have it as mildly as Imogen did last week.
Sounds like that may be working Yia.
And welcome back to your Manchester home Urms.
A busy day on the voluntary phone and a drive to Specsavers for a client, she was there for an hour and a half.
Best of luck to your sons corner, rather disconcerting.
MrJ said he’s cook tonight, a rare event, he went to the chippie, ah well, probably for the best!
Have a pleasant evening all x

Nannagarra Wed 26-Jan-22 19:29:02

Excellent news soop.

Doodle Wed 26-Jan-22 19:17:20

soop wonderful news. Just counting down the days now.
suedonim I’m sorry about your family. Hope they’re not too poorly and recover quickly.
corner I hope your unusual presentation gets itself sorted out soon. Sorry about your sons both being out of work at the same time. Could they look at temporary jobs until something permanent comes along? Mine have both been made redundant before (thankfully not at the same time) . Hope something good comes their way soon.

Blossoming Wed 26-Jan-22 18:42:10

Welcome home Urms

‘Evening All’

A stress-free and no queue (I could get used to this) return to Manchester airport. We touched down at 16:20hrs and we were back in our apartment at 17:05hrs! Not raining (that’s a nice surprise), heating on, it’s cosy already. Rung my stepfather and youngest daughter. Will chat to the Yorkshire Lass in a bit.

I took this photo at 16:05hrs as we were descending. Next minute we were slicing through those cotton wool clouds. Bump. Home!
