A very late Good Morning to you all, DH and I have both been unwell for about ten days but I’ve been trying to keep up with you all ( impossible) and are now improving a lot so I thought that I would send you some sunshine ☀️ and flowers in the shape of next doors old almond tree, which has been absolutely beautiful this year. It’s just chance whether there is bad wind or rain at the wrong time as to whether the tree is as rewarding as this but conditions have obviously been just right this year.
I sat in the study/spare bedroom looking at it while DH had some physiotherapy on Monday and watched as bees were busily gathering all the pollen. To be honest it was good to see so many bees as well especially as this tree never gets sprayed with anything noxious, or anything at all for that matter. It can be very cold mornings and evenings but in the daytime it’s been beautiful lately.

Good Morning All x.
Quite the heatwave this morning compared to yesterday. Pleasant sunshine after a drizzly first thing. Washing on the agenda I think.

I was busy preparing my dinner yesterday, just before 5pm and while I was in the back kitchen I could hear the letter-box going. Not thinking much about it I carried on with what I was doing thinking perhaps, as is usual, that it was a charity bag.

Before I dished up my dinner I went to the front door expecting to see the charity bag, but a half-open letterbox and something jammed. A bit of a struggle releasing it I tugged it out from the front end and it was a small long box from the pharmacy.

I opened it and thought oh dear, it's not mine as it wasn't on my list of medications, so I double-checked the name and sure enough, it was mine. I rang the surgery and spoke to a receptionist who then said that owing to the blood-test I'd had last week the test had shown a low Vit D, so GP must have written up some Evacal. Nice of him/ her to let me know !

Anyway, still a tiny price to pay as a result of a blood-test, so I chewed one of the " lozengers " after my dinner. Though I did wonder what would have happened if anything had shown up. ?

So pleased about your results Dragonfly, keep up the good work.
Let's hope that your DD's ECG is okay too Ashcombe. It's been quite alarming all round.
Also Chrissielou's DD's beginning, may it continue with success.
Others too who have family members going through procedures I wish them all well flowers all round.

Another smile at Matt, very appropriate grin I'm sure you'll make the most of the week,*Urms*----a short stay this time, until later eh ?

Nearly coffee time and not a pot washed smile Who cares ?
Wishing you all well with thoughts to those who aren't. Stay safe and have a good day.xx.

Good morning Mick and Morningsters. Rain during the night but dry now in my bit of mid Cornwall.
Good news susan ?
My morning will be spent making one call after another but then a paint brush will be in my hand for another attempt at smartening up the window recesses after their grand scrubbing.

A generous sprinkling of ??????????today for any in need of support.

Blossoming Wed 19-Jan-22 10:04:35

Good morning Mick and everybody. Brilliant blue skies in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 2°C. Today I need to set up the garden WiFi, it shouldn’t take too long, and look at some paperwork for Mr. B. A walk after lunch.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Lizzie72 Wed 19-Jan-22 10:01:22

Thanks, BlueSapphire (should we start a thriller / detective book thread?! grin). I might try that series then. Reading this at the moment. Interesting author - brought up in Scotland, but of Indian heritage.

Sorry to hijack the GM thread smile

Marydoll Wed 19-Jan-22 09:59:46

Kalu, the Professor is no more. He has found a new love, beautiful, clever, slim, tall and perfect, someone I cannot possibly compete with. As Dollie would say, I am heartbroked. ?

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 19-Jan-22 09:58:49

Good Morning all from now dry Harrogate. I am fairly optimistic and have got a wash going in the machine.
Yesterday I was cleaning my collection of silver sugar tongs in Silver dip, when i manage to knock it all over me. Afraid of being silvered, i had to strip and shove everything in the washing machine! Surprisingly it didn't do me any harm! That will be today's job, continue finishing cleaning my sugar tongs - I have just over 30 of them. This time I will sit at the table to clean them, I'm about half way through with them.
Glad your DDs are doing well Gingster and Chrissielou. I'm also pleased that your NHS treatment has given you a clean bill of health dragonfly such a worry.
Take care everyone, have the best day you can.

Kalu Wed 19-Jan-22 09:53:21

It was a bit disappointing Marydoll but that’s life at the moment and we just have to go with the flow and hope for the best. ?. I have been toying with the idea of a rummage in TKMaxx recently and may just do that this afternoon as pain levels have subsided enough that I can drive again.
Rest up and look after yourself as you travel to Turkey for a meet up with the hunky professor. ?

BlueSapphire Wed 19-Jan-22 09:53:16

Lizzie if you can get past the opening chapter in the books the rest is ok! I nearly gave up on the first one, thinking this isn't for me. But glad I persevered as the stories and characters are brilliant.

Grammaretto Wed 19-Jan-22 09:52:49

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders where the sun is shining low in the January sky.
Off to yarn group to concentrate on something other than this crumbling house, with all its needs, for an hour or two. Then lunch with an old friend.
So glad your appt went so well Dragonfly and that your DD is not too bad Susan56
Great news.
I picked a bunch of winter flowers from the garden. If you look hard you may spot the lone snowdrop!
Hope the day goes well.

Susan56 Wed 19-Jan-22 09:22:12

A late good morning from Shropshire where it’s 7 degrees a welcome improvement on yesterday’s-1.

Another #lazygran day today?

DD had her best day yet yesterday with minimal pain so Ash there is light at the end of the tunnel.I just hope she takes it easy.

Happy birthday to all the birthday girls??

Thinking of all the daughters and daughter in laws undergoing treatment?and all the Covid warriors.Wishing everyone well.

Good news dragonfly .We had a day out yesterday on train to Ilkley really e enjoyed being out and about first full day out since 19th Dec !dentist this morning oh joy.Hope all have a good day ?

Marydoll Wed 19-Jan-22 08:52:15

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow. I am a bit later today, I had a particularly bad night, so DH kindly let me sleep on, before bringing my usual early morning tea.

I am so relieved to hear you received clean bill of health Dragonfly. What a relief for you and an MOT into the bargain! Good to hear that you and Chrissielou's daughter had a slighter better day, Ashcome

Wishing Fanny Cornforth, who I believe has a special birthday today, and Bluesapphire's daughter, a very happy day.

Kalu, I had been hoping your husband's birthday had been a roaring success. I'm so sorry to hear what happened. If it's any comfort, Dollie, who is CEV and severely asthmatic, but too young to be vaccinated, only had very slight symptoms. I have my fingers and toes crossed for a negative result and your pain levels are going down.

Nothing exciting planned for today, apart from a delivery of injections. Staying in is not a hardship, I have no energy at all and feel awful, after over doing things! My own fault.

Yesterday's visit to the pharmacy, resulted in a slight detour. TKMaxx is only five minutes away from my GP surgery, and having no willpower, I was seduced into making a slight detour. My excuse, I was avoiding the roadworks. ?
Lots of new stock had arrived, including two beautiful, teal modern style chaise longues, ?, either of which would been perfect in my conservatory. Unfortunately, there is no space, much to DH's relief!

Outside, I met and old friend, who had moved away from our town. I haven't seen her for about five years. She has suffered so much loss and hardship in her life, her husband and daughter died from sudden adult death syndrome and also her sister, with similar health issues to me. As a young mum, she had to bring up her children alone.

She was meeting her friend from our church, who was so pleased to see me. and commented at how much I was missed. ? What a lovely catch up we had, I had forgotten how much I enjoy socialising and talking! I have also forgotten how to! ?
Unfortunately, I forgot to switch on the tracker on my phone and DH was frantic with worry! I do need to clarify, he is not a stalker, he just worries about me, in case I become unwell.

A warm welcome to our new posters and Baubles, I'm ordering you to rest, you have earned it.
For those, finding life hard, be kind to yourself. ?
Enjoy your day everyone, whatever your plans. Brook, I have holiday envy! ?

Good morning from a misty and damp North Wales.

My shopping trip consisted of buying an assortment of plasters for my arm that I injured last Thursday and was still bleeding.
GS has gone back to university. He has been a bit down lately after being ill so I hope he will be alright.

Wishing a good day for all and thoughts with all who are not well or are troubled. ?

Anniebach Wed 19-Jan-22 08:50:21

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Jaxjacky Wed 19-Jan-22 08:47:21

Good morning from S Hants, no frost. Our granddaughter has Covid but minimally affected thank goodness.
Excellent news dragonfly, much relief.
Two drives done yesterday, one this morning and I’m on the phone calls today.
Best wishes to those poorly themselves, or their family.
Enjoy your day all ??

Newquay Wed 19-Jan-22 08:40:47

Morning from an overcast Staffs.
It’s the birthdays of both of our DDs today-they we’re born 2 years and 36 minutes apart. Over the years we’ve heard all the jokes about regular habits thank you ? They were not born in such a lovely setting as Blue Sapphire!
All best wishes to everyone especially those suffering in any way. We’re meeting local DD1 for lunch; seeing DD2 at the weekend

Grandmadinosaur Wed 19-Jan-22 08:38:15

*icy not ivy ?

Grandmadinosaur Wed 19-Jan-22 08:37:57

Good morning everyone from a dry also not ivy East Yorkshire.

Nothing much to report here I also feel like I lead a boring life. I am so envious of your life in Spain Urms. I have a friend just back from a break in the Canaries. Her photos looked amazing. I have been looking at booking something for next year to wipe away the January blues. Saying that we have a holiday to look forward to in March but it seems a long way away even though it isn’t really.

Yesterday was housework but also had a phone chat with a good friend.
I am going to Beverley (hurrah) finally today. There are a few items I need from a couple of places there. I could have got them online but then it’s a case of waiting and being in for the delivery.
Sending thoughts to the grans with DDs who are not too well at the moment.
Take care all.

Lins1066 Wed 19-Jan-22 08:36:58

Good morning Mick and all from a damp corner of the S Welsh coast. The gardener came yesterday to trim the shrubs etc, he had a cancellation so asked if he could come to us. He cleared up and put everything in bags to be collected this morning on his trailer. Sorted.
Bought some fresh skate yesterday, haven't had that for years, a nice change. Supermarket delivery later.
Good news dragon fly.
Enjoy your DH's birthday meal out leftfieldlover.
We have a nervous wait now for the birth of DS and partner's baby.
Have a good day everyone.

Alygran Wed 19-Jan-22 08:35:09

Good morning from North Yorkshire. We’ve just had a shower but it’s dry now. I’m off in an hour to catch a train to York to meet my step granddaughter for lunch. Looking forward to a wander round the shops.
Spent some of yesterday in the sub zero temperatures walking round the arboretum. Another 7k ticked off this month's challenge.
Good to hear about your appointment dragonfly. Good wishes to all the poorly people and families.
Have a good day everyone.

Kalu Wed 19-Jan-22 08:26:49

Good morning all, quite a mild start to the day in Glasgow.

Unfortunately, DH’s birthday dinner last night was just the two of us as DD1 and GD2 both felt unwell yesterday morning and are now awaiting PCR results. Both are vaccinated but are mildly asthmatic so I am hoping their results are negative. On top of that, GD1 is sitting prelims this month, another reason I am hoping this won’t be a cause for her to have to isolate. DH had FaceTime calls from friends and family and we are all hoping it won’t be too long until we can arrange a get together at a later date if restrictions ease.
Thank you for your birthday wishes for DH GDinosaur.

Hoping a good day is in store for all. Stay safe.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 19-Jan-22 08:26:26

Morning Mick and all

The sky is streaked with red here in S E Essex, I have bedroom windows open and it doesn’t feel chilly.

The cleaning fairies are here this morning so the house will be sparkling until The Imp and the 6yr old are let loose that is.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and a warm welcome to our newbie morning friends.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Grandmajean Wed 19-Jan-22 08:17:55

Morning all from Cheshire.
Going to hairdresser for a trim later. Definitely not one of my favourite things but needs must.
Good Matt cartoon today.
Another Gransnetter mentioned the Wordle puzzle yesterday and I'm hooked. Good job you can only do one a day !

Chrissielou Wed 19-Jan-22 08:16:00

Grey and milder in Oxfordshire, fields outside the house are back to being squelchy, if that's even a word! Quieter day hopefully for me, apart from working. DD more comfortable yesterday and the team are pleased with her 1st treatment on the trial. Many thanks again for the kindness shown to me. Hoping for a good Wednesday for all!
