Been discussed before, I know, but in the DT today, it seems that support for this to be the Duchess of Cornwall’s title in the fullness of time is ever more likely.

I, for one, would be pleased to see this happen. Princess Consort would be a silly title for the wife of the King.

I have never thought Charles will allow his beloved wife to hold an inferior title.

Charles should abdicate in favour if William. This reminds me of the argument that pensioners should get out of the workplace to make room for the younger people.

Charles should abdicate in favour of William - problem solved.

No

She was another man’s wife

Harry was 11 and William 13 when their mother gave the Panorama interview , they must have been ribbed,

I absolutely don't want her to have a title of Queen Consort. I don't care how popular she has become. She was instrumental in the break up of the marriage which would not have been a problem at all to me if there had been no kids involved. Both her kids and Charles' have had to suffer the indignity of watching their parents behave badly in a very public way over a long period of time. I can tell you from experience that it scars you for life.

What a discussion this has turned out to be, Camilla titles, Diana, Meghan and Harry.
All this talk, I hope the queen isnt reading this, she must think we are wating to get rid of her, lets hope it will be a long time before this is on the cards. Maybe it will then be William who is King and Queen Catherine beside him, Prince Charles isnt getting any younger, thats a cue for another disussion!

I absolutely agree! Charles has never looked as hale and hearty as his mother. I met him once a few years ago and he hasn’t aged well. His permanently red cheeks can’t be right, surely.

I think it should be Queen, as the late Queen Mother had the same title, there isnt any difference really. Camilla has been doing a great job and has become more popular recently, so why not, I am not bothered either way, what will be will be.

I have no respect for Camella or Charles. Between them they ruined a young girls life, caused her mental health problems and Charles used her for a brood mare.
Queen of Oars I would call her. Despicable person and so is he.
Sorry if this offends some people but this is how I feel, and so do many others that I know.

I think that once the Queen dies and Charles is King things will be very different and it may be a very different monarchy much more like other European ones. It has been the style of the past two monarchs that has defined pageant as we know it.

I always thought Diana needy and her compassion was born out of a need to be seen as a champion of the weak, somehow a guardian angel of the sort she never had. Not saying she didn't care, just that the underlying motivation was not as everyone thought. She was well damaged from a very early age and a disaster waiting to happen, so very sad that her upbringing was so warped by traditional formulae ,greed, self centred lust and total lack of love. Camilla is made of stronger stuff but should still harbour guilt at her thoughtless behaviour.

Camilla should be Queen when the time comes. Her and Price Charles seem very happy together. A pity that the strict royal protocols about marriage partners denied them the opportunity to become husband and wife when they were young.

Yep! Denied all because she'd been round the block a few times, what a farce! Glad all those Victorian old farts are long dead!

Why not wait until he gets there?

Treetops05 Mon 24-Jan-22 14:13:30

I think she should be, if the Princes' have accepted her who are we to argue?

MissAdventure Mon 24-Jan-22 13:58:05

Let Diana rest in peace...

I think camilla should be queen she seems to be a very compasionate kind and mature woman she would make a better queen than diana ever would

So we are back to criticising Diana who died young and we can’t know what she would have been like in later life.
Whatever her faults don’t tell me Diana was not compassionate

Anniebach Mon 24-Jan-22 13:47:26

True MOnica

M0nica Mon 24-Jan-22 13:41:47

That is incorrect. Queen Elizabeth the mother of our current Queen did not have royal ancestry, neither did Princess Diana and she would have been Queen if shehad lived and still been married to prince Charles, neither does the Duchess of Cambridge and she will be Queen when the time comes.

*Anniebach. It all depends on the Prime Minister and the morals he chooses to ignore.

Doreen5 Mon 24-Jan-22 13:35:41

You can only be 'Queen' if you have royal blood in your veins!

Anniebach Mon 24-Jan-22 13:31:25

Morals are not important with Prime Ministers

M0nica Mon 24-Jan-22 13:29:02

How many of us would like to see our pillow talk spread across the media? In the context in which it was said, it was entirely acceptable.

Sorry CarlyD7, I have just realised that you have said the exact same thing.

Acceding to the throne is based on primogeniture and being, preferrably, the child of a reigning monarch. There are no education, moral or other requirements for the job.
