Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but dry here in brackley this morning, a quiet day is planned .
I will have a mid morning coffee with biscuits ,and then a ready made lunch.
Mind you I tempted to eat out , as the weather improves as a local pub has reopened under new ownership and do meals .
Apart from usual TV .
Take care,
Mick

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning Mick and everyone, a dull cloudy day today, no frost but no sun either.
I spent most of yesterday renaming photos on my PC, replacing the computer generated code, gosh there are so many! I think they must replicate each other…… I rename one and then the same photo pops up over and over, so many to delete.
Lots of Family Tree photos and if I don’t name them no one else will know who they are, even MrOops was saying “who’s that then?” and some of them were his relatives, so no chance of him remembering my side of the family. Anyway hundreds more to do, so I’ll try to do some more today, this stay at the top of my to do list for Jan/Feb.
Chicken soup made last night will be for lunch, with some left over Gammon I cooked on Friday and some part baked rolls I found in the cupboard, bought for Christmas?
Lovely to see another baby safely delivered,
I’m another one who loves to bake, but with the family on permanent diets, I haven’t done any since Christmas Eve.
Have a good day everyone, with love and hugs for all those with worries and illness.

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton, no frost and the temperature outside is 4° C.

Pleased to say that the cats behaved themselves at the vets and let him do a good health examination and give them their annual jabs. They got treats when they got home, and I had a coffee. Spent the rest of the day reading, doing the crosswords and watching tv. DH and I used to love watching NCIS, and I found a channel showing back to back episodes - I do love Jethro (Mark Harmon)....

Caught up with some laundry yesterday as well, and have just put another load in the machine. Was intending to watch my rugby team on tv this afternoon; they were due to play in Paris, but the match was cancelled as a lot of them had tested positive. May ring a friend instead.

That marmalade looks lovely grandMattie! Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.

Beauregard Sun 23-Jan-22 08:32:40

Good morning from a milder, cloudy Derbyshire.

We had an impromptu visit from two of our grandsons yesterday. They had DH kicking a football around outside followed by me simultaneously playing snakes and ladders with one and a card game with the other. It was a joy to see them as we never know if or when it will happen at the moment.

I finally put my dresser back in place and am really pleased with it. It now needs some finishing touches to complete its new look, so a shopping trip will probably be in order this week.

Today's plans include a cooked breakfast, a long walk later this morning and roast lamb for dinner.

Hope Sunday is good for everyone.

Jaxjacky Sun 23-Jan-22 08:30:57

Good morning all from a cloudy S Hants at 4deg. Rotten to get a migraine Ash very wearing too.
You’re amazing Grandmattie, Paddington would love you!
I wouldn’t be concerned Chrissielou we don’t do much either and your reasoning is very understandable.
We went over to see the birthday boy yesterday, they have a new kitten, totally not bothered by us and very interested in the new box!
Not much on today, a walk and may pop in our local for the meat draw.
Have a good day all, thoughts with those struggling. ??

Morning Mick and all

Grey sky here in S E Essex.

The Imp,was still awake and screaming/sobbing at 2am this morning, DD will be shattered this morning, he kept me awake but I wasn’t dealing with him.

Roast Beef for dinner this evening no plans our day will be rip toeing around a very tired little boy.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Grandmabatty Sun 23-Jan-22 08:20:58

Good morning all from Polmont. 7° and cloudy and breezy. Grandmattie an amazing haul of marmalade! I'm sorry that you had a bad night though. Scentia glad to hear that your leg is mending. Marydoll I bake cake and biscuits for dgs as he always asks for grandma cake. The problem comes when I eat it too!
Yesterday I managed to achieve a lot of clearing out. The hall cupboard is a masterpiece of order and I'm working through the spare room wardrobe. I don't have much room left in the green bin though for stuff so I might need to curtail my ruthlessness. I find it very cathartic. I'll tackle my wardrobe once I've finished in the spare room.
Today I'm carrying on clearing. I will make a banana bread for my sil as he loves it. I might iron. Then I have some knitting to pick up. Lasagne for dinner and apple sponge. Have a good day all.

Good morning all and it is - -much- -warmer here in Essex.

I have put chicken and veg in the slow cooker to have late afternoon. DB and his wife are coming for coffee and cake this morning. They only live a few miles away but with one thing or another we haven’t managed to see them since October. They are good company, so it will be a jolly time.

Yesterday DD , little DGD and I made bread. Oh my goodness what a sticky mess we were all in. Eventually we just threw it in the oven and it came out beautifully. We also made lanterns and collage pictures, which are now displayed all over the kitchen. She is my 8th GC and I still love doing these activities . I have a little apron which says ‘Nannas little helper’ and it’s been through the 6 gds ( twin boys had old shirts as the pinny is pink and they refused to wear it. ?.

After a lovely afternoon , I took them home and Dd found she was locked out. The twins had gone out for a sleepover and somehow taken all the keys. ?.

After considerable muttering and thought , I noticed the boys bedroom window was slightly open. The kindly neighbour came with a ladder and hopped in. It could only happen to DD . We never know what’s around the corner with her. ?

Let’s all hope for a peaceful, gentle day ?. Best wishes to you all. ?

Good morning ☀️.
Tired this morning after long chatty evening last night visiting old friends. Worth it though.

dragonfly46 Sun 23-Jan-22 08:15:51

Good morning from a dull Leicestershire.

Walking and coffee with a friend this morning then will shampoo my carpets ready for the family at the weekend.

Take care Ash it was the dazzles that caused me to end up in the TIA clinic. Migraine was the final diagnosis but horrid at the time. Told me it could be brought on by stress so worry about your DD isn’t helping. Hope she is better soon.

Urmstongran Sun 23-Jan-22 08:11:07

Here’s Matt. ?

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s mild, a day of white cloud with sun and a high of 16°C forecast. We are meeting friends at 2pm for drinks and tapas. They live out here and seeing them is always a pleasure.

Had to giggle yesterday. L’il Miss rang me while the Boy Wonder was out at a birthday party.
“Guess what grandma? I’m going to have a spa time with Mama!”

Too cute. ? Apparently as it’s her birthday next week mum had said they’d do a foot spa at home, paint their nails and have cucumber on their eyes. Honestly that little girl was SO excited! I got sent a selfie later which really made us laugh.

I love the weights for your scales in the background of your photo grandMattie - reminds me of doing domestic science at school 50y ago!

Enjoy Sunday all who can. x

brook2704 Sun 23-Jan-22 08:10:38

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks dry
Not boring at all Chrissilou it’s good to hear from you
That marmalade looks delicious GM well done with making those quantities in what sounds like super quick time. I hope you sleep a bit better tonight too and take it a bit easy today
Thanks Ash we arrived home safely yesterday morning after a long but easy enough journey. Hope that migraine has gone for good now and well done for sorting out the problems at the box office!
We were invited round to DD2 house yesterday morning for breakfast so we went straight there from the station and enjoyed spending the day with the DGC and a bit of shopping. Today DH is back in work and I’ll be having a day at home doing the washing and pottering about.
A big congratulations to Lins and family on the birth of your new DGD - such lovely exciting times ahead with lots of cuddles.
Hope you get out for a little bit of fresh air today Beechnut
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings?

GrannySomerset Sun 23-Jan-22 08:09:19

Definitely warmer this morning and it looks as if it will be fine too. Church this morning followed by lunch with friends which will be lovely. A day off from the paperwork, I think. It will still be there tomorrow.

Marydoll Sun 23-Jan-22 08:08:39

Good morning all from Glasgow, where its 7°.
Mick, you haven't updated us on your ear. I hope it is healing well. You must be due to get your stitches out soon.

First morning in ages that I have woken up not dizzy and feeling unwell. It may be a coincidence, but I started my new meds yesterday. ?
I did, however, have only three hours sleep, according to my smart watch.??????

Ash, I can empathise with you. When I was working, I used to get the most awful and debilitating migraines, often losing sight in one eye. They left me discombulated and unwell for days.

GM, I noticed the lemons, do you put many in your marmalade? Its pretty hard work, making marmalade, but well worth the effort.
dragonfly, I had DD Googling how to pressure cook marmalade in a Ninja! I think I may stick to my jam maker, much simpler! ?
I love marmalade, the more bitter, the better!

Yesterday, The extreme hoarders team returned to create even more chaos in our garage, but we did manage to get items, which had accumulated during Covid, to the tip.
We are now trying to find homes for Dollie's bike, etc., which she has outgrown.

I retreated to the kitchen to batch cook and bake, only to find that all my children are on a healthy eating kick. No-one wanted a goody bag of sultana or chocolate cake. I may be forced to eat them all on my own. #ditch the diet.
Traditional Scottish steak pie for dinner, slow cooked for the first time in the Ninja, it does smell delicious! I'm not a great fan, but DH loves it.

A busy day ahead. Due to feeling so unwell, I have procrastinated and haven't tackled the annual safeguarding audit for the parish, which is due to be sent electronically next week. It involves a lot of data input and I just couldn't face it.
I keep mentioning Carpe diem, on this thread and then ignore my own advice! ?

Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday.

Pittcity Sun 23-Jan-22 08:07:56

Good morning from a dry Colchester where it's just getting light. No frost this morning. This is probably because I bought a new winter coat in the sales.
Just having tea and toast before we try and wrangle two boys into the car and off to Laserquest for the eldest's birthday treat. Pizza party chez DD1 this afternoon.
So we won't be having a restful Sunday chrissielou wink
Love to all ? x

Gagagran Sun 23-Jan-22 08:01:51

Good Morning everyone from a 4.6c south coast so no frost.

Not had the best night's sleep as my aches and pains kept reminding me that they were definitely not asleep. Feel faintly grumpy as a result - and still achey!

Laundry on the go now and need to marinate some chicken thighs for lunch. Nothing much else to report.

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Chrissielou Sun 23-Jan-22 07:59:49

Very grey and it feels cold in my rural Oxfordshire village, no frost though. Spent yesterday afternoon with DD1 and GC, baked a cake which GC and DH enjoyed in front of the fire. I love baking, but I dont eat them. Today will be dog walking and then housework, with roast chicken later. My posts are very boring, sorry, we are trying to limit social activities with DD being on chemo and so vulnerable. Hope you all have a happy restful Sunday!

Lins1066 Sun 23-Jan-22 07:40:28

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy corner of the S Welsh coast. Alexa says it's cloudy and 3 degrees, DD is walking up Pen Y Fan this morning so she will need to wrap up! She is taking our little dog who was given the all clear by the vet on Friday, he needs a good walk.

A huge thank you to all who congratulated us on the birth of our precious little granddaughter, I read all your posts late last night. We had many cuddles, she slept the entire afternoon, though she only slept for an hour during the night for her parents. She is so beautiful ?

The marmalade looks amazing grandMattie, Mr Lins loves it. His eye surgeon rang about 7pm last night to check all was well following his cataract op. which it is thankfully.
A quiet day ahead for us with an M&S steak and ale pie with veg for supper.
Have a good day everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 23-Jan-22 07:39:05

I’m still in bed and haven’t looked out of the window yet! My left knee (partially replaced last May) is aching a bit. After meeting the family in London yesterday to celebrate OH’s 70th, we had a bit of a walk around Piccadilly, down to Green Park and across to Buckingham Palace. I was intending to go to church this morning, but may rest the knee.

Sar53 Sun 23-Jan-22 07:25:22

Good morning from Essex by the sea where I am still in bed.
'You stay in bed and read and I'll make the tea', so here I am.
DH is going to rugby with one grandson, I'll be making a chicken casserole for dinner. Later we are going to the pub to watch his team Liverpool play mine Crystal Palace, confidence is not high but hopefully a good game.
Enjoy Sunday whatever you may get up to xx

Scentia Sun 23-Jan-22 07:15:52

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it feels cold.
That marmalade looks amazing GM
I would think maybe worry of you DD brought on the migraine Ash
I need to do a food shop today, I do dislike food shopping, I can spend a fortune and still have nothing for dinner?
I will potter in my garden today as I want to get ready for the spring and sort out the cat mess problem, I have some electrical scarers from Amazon to try. I will report back.
I had a lovely walk yesterday, my leg is really improving and I am feeling positive anoint getting back to my busy self soon.
Take care everyone and stay safe and warm ❤️

kittylester Sun 23-Jan-22 06:53:14

Good morning all from a still dark and chilly North Leicestershire.

We are planning an early trip to John Lewis as the new sheets we bought don't go with the duvet at all.

Roast chicken for dinner.

Well done for for coping ash and I'm available to taste marmalade Mattie.

Beechnut Sun 23-Jan-22 06:31:42

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Dark, dry and warmer start.

I’ll check on a few things first and probably go out today. I haven’t spoken to anyone bar myself since Tuesday, and have only been outside to put the bin out and bring it back in. So like Mick I’m looking forward to warmer times.

Have the best day you can and enjoy the roasts ??

grandMattie Sun 23-Jan-22 06:28:15

Good morning from a chilly dry E Kent.
Has a dreadful night, with periods of insomnia and DH snoring, when I did manage to sleep DH kept waking me up with his tossing and turning. I sleep so much better alone but he is terribly hurt when I “jump ship” as he calls it.
I made 40 pots of marmalade in about 3 hours, including shredding by hand,. Pressure cooking only take 15 minutes per kg. I can put the recipe up later if you like.
Today, I have to wash the jars, print and cut the labels before gluing them on.
Church in the morning and Spanish homework in the afternoon. Roast pork for dinner.
Have a gentle day all. Carpe diem. ???☀️?

mumofmadboys Sun 23-Jan-22 06:20:20

Good morning all! I have a good day planned-church this morning after morning walk first thing, live link to Bolshoi ballet 'Jewels' this afternoon and a bridge match this evening. Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday especially those with worries/ illnesses.
