Oh and DD has just tested +ve! Mild symptoms or none at all at present. At least they will all be over it by Iris’s operation!

GrandmaSeaDragon Wed 26-Jan-22 07:57:47

Good morning from Rutland where it’s +1 and we have the most beautiful sunrise, with peach, lilac, blue and pink strips. The squirrels are jumping high in the silhouetted trees. I wonder if this means the sun will make an appearance. Like many others, I really hope it does!

Will pop into village coffee drop in this morning, where The Boy, the mole, the fox and the horse is being discussed. Find it difficult to read without tears. Then hoping to get to DD2 in time to watch DGS2 play in a rugby match this afternoon. If A1 behaves,I should make it!

I so enjoy reading everyone’s news every morning, just not quick as responding individually at the moment. Thank you muse for your kind thoughts. It’s all rather complicated and sad and I don’t like to say too much.

Time to throw bits in suitcase and face the day. Wishing you the best day possible especially those with ills and worries smile

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton, no frost today. A fair bit of tidying up this morning, as DD will be staying over tonight. The cats will be thrilled to have someone else in the house, as will I!

Book club this afternoon, then this evening out with DD to a pub in a nearby village with our wine group for our first meeting in two years; looking forward to seeing everyone and having a good catch-up, plus a nice meal.

Just done a LFT to make sure I am safe for today's activities, negative thank goodness, so I am good to go.

Hope all have a good day.

Good morning from a chilly, grey North Leicestershire.

Lots of 'stuff' to do this morning. And the gardener is coming to finish off from last week.

I had a lovely time yesterday with my old friends - we call ourselves Witness Women as we met while volunteering for the Witness Service. Sadly, one of our number is really struggling with her husband's dementia so I am going to gather information on help for her.

Have the best day possible.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where the temperature seems to have been stuck at 7°C for days.

GM, I'm sorry to hear about Iris, hopefully her symptoms are mild and that sentiment is also directed at those, who have family suffering from Covid..

Its great to hear that people are getting out to groups and clubs again and even better, enjoying themselves. I miss all that, but too early for me yet. On the advice of my clinicians, I still need to limit close contact with groups. ?

Yesterday's outing was a bit of a disappointment, to say the least.
I thought I had secured a bargain with reduced fleece leggings. When I got to the till, I was charged only£4, so I decided to buy another pair, to keep for DD, who is forever raiding my wardrobe. When I got home, I found that they were M/L, but not an adult M/L. They were for a teenager!

The skinny rib, long line cardigan, I found for £5 in Sainsbury's, turned out to be a skinny ribbed dress. The buttons would not open, (fake) and it clung to every lump and bump, I never knew I had so many! ?

Much to my disappointment, M&S was a total non -starter. Nothing on the sale rail was on the right hanger and out of the corner of my eye, my beloved DH included, I spotted at least five men impatiently waiting for their wives.
To top it all, throughout the morning, MrMD, continued to do his best impression of Victor Meldrew!

The only positive outcome was that the mall was very quiet and getting the lamps I had ordered, I'm really pleased with them.
I think the crabbit one realised he had upset me. To my surprise, when I came back from dropping off something at church, the new lamps had been unpacked and were in situ, without me even having to ask.!

My hair is a mess, so I have plucked up courage to go to the hairdressers today. The ladies are so accommodating and a little bit crazy. I started going there in 1992, when I got a job in the school next door, half the staff went there.
Without prompting, they give me an appointment for when the salon is quiet.
There is much hilarity and they are such a source of local gossip! ?
I hope to come home a new woman!

Sending my best wishes for all on here who have worries or pain and a speedy recovery for those in the sick bay.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Cheshire.
Safe journey Urmstongran Loved today's Matt.
Meeting a friend for coffee this morning. Only a sort walk away so no driving involved.

Chrissielou Wed 26-Jan-22 08:14:59

Good morning from another gloomy grey day in Oxfordshire. DS1, DD1 and GC came for supper last night, roaring fire going and all happy until DD1 started to feel unwell, and once outside she promptly collapsed. DS1 called an ambulance, which arrived 3hrs later. GC very frightened and asked their uncle if she was dying. Long story short(ish) she was admitted to oncology ward, and is having checks, hopefully home later today. Not quite the night we had planned.
Thank you for your kind thoughts, this is a very challenging time and I appreciate your kindness.

Good morning from grey East Yorkshire. I’m sick of these dreary days too.

I’ve typed out a message and lost it ?

I’m thinking of a trip to the city centre today. I have an item to return for a refund, birthdays to shop for too. Then I want to check if the Next store has a dress in a smaller size ( long time since I said that!) to one I bought last week at a different branch.

Safe journey home Urms

Take care everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 26-Jan-22 08:17:43

Chrissielou what a worrying time for you all.

Grandmabatty Wed 26-Jan-22 08:24:13

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8°. Grey skies above and it's been raining and looks like a wet day ahead. Chrissielou I hope your daughter is okay. What a fright. Grandmattie poor Iris! And your daughter too. I hope their symptoms are mild.
Yesterday I dropped off fish to dd and caught up with chicken pox Charlie and his wee brother. He was so excited to see me and we had to play dinosaurs which involved lots of roaring. In the afternoon I sorted out my wardrobe and threw out lots of stuff. I'm feeling very virtuous. Fish and chips for tea last night.
Today I will try the pharmacy for my prescriptions. They are supposed to collect it for me but the last few times it's been a hit or a miss if they have. Then I'll visit mum. Then home to potter. Have a good day all.

Grandmajean Wed 26-Jan-22 08:25:13

Just seen your post Chrissielou and popped back to say how sorry I am that your DD was taken ill. It is a truly awful journey for you all and I hope your girl is now improving ?

dragonfly46 Wed 26-Jan-22 08:26:24

Good morning, looks like we are getting sun today in Leicestershire.

Coffee with friends this morning in a lovely newly renovated local.

So sorry to hear about your DD Chrissielou. I hope she is able to come home soon.
Ash how frustrating for you. We are so lucky with our surgery but I am told it is unusual. I hope you hear from them soon.
Safe journey Urms.

Marydoll Wed 26-Jan-22 08:31:35

Chrissielou, how worrying for you all. I hope your daughter will be back home with you all soon. ?

Anniebach Wed 26-Jan-22 08:37:42

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Stilllearning Wed 26-Jan-22 08:40:26

Morning from S Lanarkshire, dull and wet here. Glad to see Iris and family have mild symptoms grandMattie, she has enough to contend with.

Safe journey home Urmston and as always Matt put his finger right on it!

Exercise class today, as always I’m looking forward to both the class and the coffee afterwards.

The slide towards privatisation in health care is happening here too Ash. Several dental practices in my area are now wholly or partly private and there are now two private GP practices in the wider area. Very worrying.

Wishing a better day to all with family worries and a good day to all ???

NannyJan53 Wed 26-Jan-22 08:41:55

Good morning from a frosty and increasingly brighter Black Country. Was out before 7am to fill car with petrol before it gets too busy.

A walk along the canal yesterday with a friend, then lunch afterwards.

Today I am going with Mum to Wolverhampton for her to choose a new fridge/freezer. She is struggling to hear properly as she only has one hearing aid at the moment. Still waiting for a new mould for the other. It never used to take so long!

Safe travels Urms. the trains over there are so efficient, on time and cheap!

So sorry your DD was unwell Chrissielou so worrying for you. I hope she is ok flowers

Wishing you all a good day

Jaxjacky Wed 26-Jan-22 08:43:28

Scary for you all Chrissielou, I hope your daughter recovers swiftly.?

harrigran Wed 26-Jan-22 08:49:52

Good morning from a dry and not too cold NE.
Poor day yesterday, couldn't summon the energy to do anything so watched the latest series of After life on Netflix. Big mistake as I cried all afternoon, I can empathise with the way he feels.
SIL coming this morning to take me shopping. He will help with any admin while he is here.
Thoughts are with all the poorly people.

Good morning Mick and all. Bit of a surprise, it's still grey in my bit of N. Warwickshire.

I went to the Eye Clinic on Monday. The Consultant likes to have a chat. It's his way of getting patients to relax.

So he told me about the latest research on Macular Degeneration. Then he recommended a book. This Is Going To Hurt by Adam Kay based on his blog Secret Diary of a Junior Doctor. He said it was hilarious.

I thought this was a tad insensitive since he was about to stick a hypodermic needle in my eye but let it pass; you don't want to irritate people in those circumstances.

The injection wasn't too bad but the disinfectant he washed my eye with really stung, I think it wasn't diluted as much as usual.

Normally when I get back from the clinic I have a kip for 3 hours or so until my vision clears and I'm out of pain. This time it didn't work. The pain didn't abate much until about 5am on Tuesday and it's still slightly sore. At least I don't have to go back for 6 weeks.

Best wishes to everyone especially those with far more problems than me.

Lins1066 Wed 26-Jan-22 08:51:40

Good morning all from a dry corner of the S Welsh coast.
Chrissielou I'm sorry about your dd, what a shock for you and your family, I hope she will soon be home with you.
Hope all those with medical appointments will have good outcomes.
Envious of your trip to the Range Beauregard.
My best wishes to you GG, hope you have a brighter day.
Not sure yet if we are going to see the new little family today, they put out an SOS for muslin cloths which I could only get online.
Take care everyone.

AGAA4 Wed 26-Jan-22 08:59:54

Good morning from a sunny North Wales.
I will be heading out soon to make the most of it.

Thanks to the kind GNs who sent a pm about my worries with GS. It is good to know you understand.

Have a good day everyone and wishing some ☀️ for all who need it.

Grammaretto Wed 26-Jan-22 09:25:14

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is cloudy
6°C.
Yarn/gossip group this morning. I shall take along various projects and hope to move them on a bit.

Burns Night last night. I was watching a concert on zoom (df's DGS was performing) and cooking my tea.
The electrician was still here working on the rewiring so I asked him to share my "nae the usual Burns supper" which he did.

That must have been a terrible shock Chrissielou I hope your DD is home again soon. flowers

Sorry to hear that Iris has covid gMattie. She has so much to contend with, the dear child,
One of my DGD has it too. She has been feverish and coughing but they say she's improving.

Baubles I know what you mean about people decluttering. I have had to make an appointment to donate - next Tuesday at my local charity shop.
Such good things there. That's where you should shop Marydoll grin
There is an Oxfam boutique in Newton Mearns
www.oxfam.org.uk/shops/oxfam-boutique-newton-mearns/

Cheerio and enjoy your day if you can. Haste ye back Urms

Goooood morning from a bright and sunny Yorkshire. The sheep are out and even the pig has ventured down the lane.

Today i have my GD, we are going to make sausage rolls. We can't do any sewing as i took my sewing machine to the repair shop yesterday, so sausage rolls it is ! ( haaaa, good alternative )

Enjoy your day everyone.
Here is a photo of the view from my kitchen window, sheep and Mr Pig .smilesunshinesunshinesunshine

GrannySomerset Wed 26-Jan-22 09:27:13

A blank day but need to stay in for the plumber who is coming (some time) to look at why our downstairs radiators are not performing properly - the kitchen is cold and I have left an oil filled electric radiator on all the time for the last few days. Being cold is miserable and I really don’t need it.

Am enjoying reading about people who are out and about (well done, brave Marydoll) and sorry so many families have tested positive. Let’s hope they get a mild dose of the virus, especially Iris and her family who have enough to worry about. I really do think we will all have had it by next winter!

Stilllearning Wed 26-Jan-22 09:28:41

Just checked in again and saw your post*Chrissielou*, so sorry for all of you, you, your daughter and family are in my prayers
