Good morning from a dry and not too cold NE.
Poor day yesterday, couldn't summon the energy to do anything so watched the latest series of After life on Netflix. Big mistake as I cried all afternoon, I can empathise with the way he feels.
SIL coming this morning to take me shopping. He will help with any admin while he is here.
Thoughts are with all the poorly people.

Good morning from a frosty and increasingly brighter Black Country. Was out before 7am to fill car with petrol before it gets too busy.

A walk along the canal yesterday with a friend, then lunch afterwards.

Today I am going with Mum to Wolverhampton for her to choose a new fridge/freezer. She is struggling to hear properly as she only has one hearing aid at the moment. Still waiting for a new mould for the other. It never used to take so long!

Safe travels Urms. the trains over there are so efficient, on time and cheap!

So sorry your DD was unwell Chrissielou so worrying for you. I hope she is ok

The slide towards privatisation in health care is happening here too Ash. Several dental practices in my area are now wholly or partly private and there are now two private GP practices in the wider area. Very worrying.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8°. Grey skies above and it's been raining and looks like a wet day ahead. Chrissielou I hope your daughter is okay. What a fright. Grandmattie poor Iris! And your daughter too. I hope their symptoms are mild.
Yesterday I dropped off fish to dd and caught up with chicken pox Charlie and his wee brother. He was so excited to see me and we had to play dinosaurs which involved lots of roaring. In the afternoon I sorted out my wardrobe and threw out lots of stuff. I'm feeling very virtuous. Fish and chips for tea last night.
Today I will try the pharmacy for my prescriptions. They are supposed to collect it for me but the last few times it's been a hit or a miss if they have. Then I'll visit mum. Then home to potter. Have a good day all.

I’m thinking of a trip to the city centre today. I have an item to return for a refund, birthdays to shop for too. Then I want to check if the Next store has a dress in a smaller size ( long time since I said that!) to one I bought last week at a different branch.

Good morning from another gloomy grey day in Oxfordshire. DS1, DD1 and GC came for supper last night, roaring fire going and all happy until DD1 started to feel unwell, and once outside she promptly collapsed. DS1 called an ambulance, which arrived 3hrs later. GC very frightened and asked their uncle if she was dying. Long story short(ish) she was admitted to oncology ward, and is having checks, hopefully home later today. Not quite the night we had planned.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where the temperature seems to have been stuck at 7°C for days.

GM, I'm sorry to hear about Iris, hopefully her symptoms are mild and that sentiment is also directed at those, who have family suffering from Covid..

Its great to hear that people are getting out to groups and clubs again and even better, enjoying themselves. I miss all that, but too early for me yet. On the advice of my clinicians, I still need to limit close contact with groups. ?

Yesterday's outing was a bit of a disappointment, to say the least.
I thought I had secured a bargain with reduced fleece leggings. When I got to the till, I was charged only£4, so I decided to buy another pair, to keep for DD, who is forever raiding my wardrobe. When I got home, I found that they were M/L, but not an adult M/L. They were for a teenager!

The skinny rib, long line cardigan, I found for £5 in Sainsbury's, turned out to be a skinny ribbed dress. The buttons would not open, (fake) and it clung to every lump and bump, I never knew I had so many! ?

Much to my disappointment, M&S was a total non -starter. Nothing on the sale rail was on the right hanger and out of the corner of my eye, my beloved DH included, I spotted at least five men impatiently waiting for their wives.
To top it all, throughout the morning, MrMD, continued to do his best impression of Victor Meldrew!

The only positive outcome was that the mall was very quiet and getting the lamps I had ordered, I'm really pleased with them.
I think the crabbit one realised he had upset me. To my surprise, when I came back from dropping off something at church, the new lamps had been unpacked and were in situ, without me even having to ask.!

My hair is a mess, so I have plucked up courage to go to the hairdressers today. The ladies are so accommodating and a little bit crazy. I started going there in 1992, when I got a job in the school next door, half the staff went there.
Without prompting, they give me an appointment for when the salon is quiet.
There is much hilarity and they are such a source of local gossip! ?
I hope to come home a new woman!

Lots of 'stuff' to do this morning. And the gardener is coming to finish off from last week.

I had a lovely time yesterday with my old friends - we call ourselves Witness Women as we met while volunteering for the Witness Service. Sadly, one of our number is really struggling with her husband's dementia so I am going to gather information on help for her.

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton, no frost today. A fair bit of tidying up this morning, as DD will be staying over tonight. The cats will be thrilled to have someone else in the house, as will I!

Book club this afternoon, then this evening out with DD to a pub in a nearby village with our wine group for our first meeting in two years; looking forward to seeing everyone and having a good catch-up, plus a nice meal.

Just done a LFT to make sure I am safe for today's activities, negative thank goodness, so I am good to go.

Good morning from Rutland where it’s +1 and we have the most beautiful sunrise, with peach, lilac, blue and pink strips. The squirrels are jumping high in the silhouetted trees. I wonder if this means the sun will make an appearance. Like many others, I really hope it does!

Will pop into village coffee drop in this morning, where The Boy, the mole, the fox and the horse is being discussed. Find it difficult to read without tears. Then hoping to get to DD2 in time to watch DGS2 play in a rugby match this afternoon. If A1 behaves,I should make it!

I so enjoy reading everyone’s news every morning, just not quick as responding individually at the moment. Thank you muse for your kind thoughts. It’s all rather complicated and sad and I don’t like to say too much.

Time to throw bits in suitcase and face the day. Wishing you the best day possible especially those with ills and worries

Oh and DD has just tested +ve! Mild symptoms or none at all at present. At least they will all be over it by Iris’s operation!

Good morning from Derbyshire where we have pink sky and sunshine to come.

Yesterday's trip to The Range proved fruitless as far as dresser ornaments were concerned. If I'd wanted silver, encrusted in diamante, there was plenty of choice, but that's not the look I'm going for. I did get some oven gloves and a snail garden ornament though, so not an entirely wasted journey.

Some plant repotting this morning, my weekly weigh-in this afternoon to see how much weight I probably haven't lost, then Cumberland Pie for dinner.

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Glad to hear your ear is mending Mick.
Suffolk has clear blue skies after a couple of awfully dank days but there is a hazy sky to the west. The cloud could be coming back.
Today I have several loads of washing to put through the machine and get dry. There is still ironing from last week too, so that’s my day sorted.

There are still lots of the families on here with Covid - it hasn’t gone away, despite what people think. I was pleased to see masks still being used around here in the small shops although the big supermarket is a different matter.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
