Morning Mick, morning All our corner of Somerset seems to be dry

Yesterday saw an emergency trip to a tyre specialist, so frustrating our car has no spare, fortunately a repair rather than replacement. Some satisfaction in being able to overcome a printer cartridge fault. Took 90 precious minutes but I did it. Learned we now have two sons job hunting, one an anticipated redundancy the other not, worrying will make not a jot of difference although it’s hard not to.

Today is focused on a mid day hospital appointment, parking will be an unpleasant challenge, the appointment will be welcome once I get in there.

Can’t offer you any sunshine grandmattie, feels like permanently grey skies here. Good wishes for Iris and anyone else with illness of any kind. Hope the phone call frustration ends ash, our dentist also switched to private work only, it’s a worrying trend.

Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire. At least it’s dry at the moment.

Thanks for the good wishes yesterday for my first solo day running the shop. I was the proverbial swan, paddling furiously but hopefully with a calm countenance. I had problems with the computer which wasn’t the best start to my day! Everyone seems to be decluttering, we had 40 bags of donations.

Hope Iris has no or mild symptoms and that your DD’s eye heals quickly Jax.

I must get myself moving as I’m walking down to the hairdresser for his first appointment. What’s the betting I’ll have a wait once I’m there, he’s notorious for being late but it was the only appointment I could get today.

Anyhoo, I hope everyone has a good day. ??

Good morning from a dark, cold Colchester. No frost. Yesterday was bitterly cold all day and I think today may feel the same. No sun or rain forecast.
I bought a duvet coat in the sales at the weekend. It'll get good use.
Wednesday morning coffee meetup in town and supermarket this afternoon.
Love to all ? x

Here’s Matt.

Off to Malaga airport in a couple of hours. We checked the Renfe website to make sure we have a train that gets us to the airport in good time. The fare is only €3.20 for both of us! It would be €25 in a taxi.

I like to be there a bit earlier these days with one thing and another. Himself has screen shotted all our necessary details on his smartphone - boarding passes, Covid statuses and locator forms. We plan to have lunch at midday in the airport and I have my Kindle for the plane.

‘See’ you all soon we will hopefully be back in Urmston by teatime. ?

Shall do some ironing on return then we have a carvery booked their 2 for 1 offer is still on.
?Iris has mild symptoms.
Safe travels Urms and don't forget to pack some☀️☀️ in your bag.
Enjoy your Wednesday and may you all find some ?.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s still dark but I think it’s another dry day after a hard frost.
I’ve been awake since 4!
Off to a charity parent group this morning. We have an art therapist coming to work with us. I’m looking forward to seeing what creations people make. It’s a great distraction for the mums of SEND children who come along. I’ll be making coffee and chatting to any new comers.
Sorry to hear Iris has tested positive. I hope she has very mild symptoms. Get well soon to her and all the others in a similar boat.
Safe journey Urms
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from another dreary part of the country - yes, please to ☀️ in Torbay!

I agree with you, grandMattie, regarding the weather. So sorry to hear about Iris and hope she has mild symptoms, as younger people seem to.

That sounds nasty for your DD, Jaxjacky so I’m glad she has received prompt treatment. ?for your GS. Glad you enjoyed your tea , Gagagran and now an “empty”!

Yesterday, I sacrificed my morning helping with Props as I thought the telephone call from my practice pharmacy, arranged by them, should take priority. Obviously not, from their point of view. Instead, after the appointment time, a text came to say it wasn’t necessary and to send in more BP readings in April/May! Whaaat?!

I rang the surgery and another pharmacist appointment was arranged for “sometime” yesterday but that didn’t happen either! Now I see from the website I’m due a call any time from 7.30 am today. Not holding my breath.

To cap it all, yesterday I received an email from my dental surgery announcing that all their dentists are going into private practice. I’ve been an NHS patient there since retiring here in 2011. All my frustration should really be directed at the government for inadequately funding the NHS for years. Now it’s beginning to bite…. if you'll pardon the pun!

Sorry to be moaning when others like Chrissielou and Gingster have real problems concerning family members. Thoughts with them and all with worries today. Safe travels to Urmstongran.?????

Morning all

Still dark outside, so no idea what the weather is going?

Safe journey Urmstongran
I hope Iris only has mild symptoms grandMattie

A day of pottering for me, I seem to be a bit gloomy at the moment.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning from Essex by the sea. Dark outside and probably another grey day.
DH is going to London to meet up with an old work colleague he hasn't seen for well over two years.
I'm off to the opticians for a contact lens check then to M&S for some food goodies.
Safe journey home to Urms today.
Have a good Tuesday whatever you may be doing xx

Beechnut Wed 26-Jan-22 06:48:44

Good Morning from a dry Severnside. A little warmer this morning.
I’d like to get out into the garden but the forecast says a moderate breeze so I may leave that until tomorrow when it says a not so moderate one.
I’ll probably do some housework first thing and then work on my felt creations for Beechnutella. She has sent me photos of her holiday, very snowy.
Fingers crossed the positives are gone and all are well before Iris’s operation Mattie.

Have a good day all ?

Gagagran Wed 26-Jan-22 06:47:46

Morning everyone from a dark south coast. 2.7c on my garden thermometer but warm and cosy indoors.

I had a lovely afternoon with WI chums yesterday. The Afternoon Tea (2 for 1 offer) was excellent with such generous amounts that we all came away with "doggy bags"! That was DH's tea and I didn't eat again as I was still full. Lots of chat, laughter and fun all round and it made me realise, again, how hard the last two years were with all that in short supply.

DH is going out with his bike club this morning. He had a call yesterday to say that his poorly e-bike is now fixed - expensively - and he can collect it tomorrow. It needed a new battery. He uses it if the bike club route is over very hilly or rough terrain but has other choices of bike available. Some might say "too many". Who? Me? grin

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Nannagarra Wed 26-Jan-22 06:37:31

Good morning from dry and dark Sefton where the birds are joyously singing in a new day.
I’ve been listening to the radio. A teacher commented that one of the effects of the pandemic has been to “return to the archaic practice of ‘face the front’”. How times change.
Another here who is dog minding and having fun with the DGC.
Have the best day you can everyone.
???

Jaxjacky Wed 26-Jan-22 06:33:07

Good morning, dry and +3 here in S Hants, another grey day forecast. My voluntary day on the phone, a drive later, chemist and if I can, much later, the library.
GS’s PCR was inconclusive, so he’s had another one, DD’s eye has a scratched cornea, antibiotic drops, hopefully a -ve this morning and a quieter day.
Safe and swift journey Urms.
Hoping those with poorly family and not so hot themselves improve today with sight of at least one ?.

grandMattie Wed 26-Jan-22 06:32:38

Just had a text from DD to say that Iris has tested positive a week after DGD1 and a day after her father. Hope it’s all over before her operation scheduled for 23 February.

grandMattie Wed 26-Jan-22 06:24:53

Good morning from a dry, gloomy E Kent. I don’t know who has it, but please may we have a tiny bit of sun? ☀️
Laundry almost done, part last night and the rest this morning before I go off to my WI Federation craft group. They are a lovely bunch of ladies. Today we shall be dying lace in tea and coffee and make small pictures/cards out of “aged” lace. Nice to my taste, but a pleasant day and such a change from my usual blank days, with no contact, face to face or otherwise.
Urms, hope all tests are ok and you have a good journey back to old Blighty.
The clock on the boiler has stopped. DH says he will have a look… I’m glad I shan’t be there as he barely knows which end of a screwdriver to use and it drives me round the bend.
Everyone else, enjoy your day, catch a passing flamingo ? or ??. Carpe diem. ???

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 26-Jan-22 06:09:30

Good Morning Mick and Blue from another dark but dry Oxfordshire, I’m assuming it will be another cloudy day.
Dog sitting day today, so at least I will get some fresh air.
Then another day decluttering my PC, it’s taking ages, but so much ‘stuff’ on there from years ago that can be deleted and still many pics to be named and put into their relevant files.
Have a good day everyone.

BlueBalou Wed 26-Jan-22 06:03:46

Good morning Michael, I hope the stitch removal tomorrow goes well.
A quiet day here as usual, housework and catching up with the washing now my new washing machine has arrived! It’s very swish with a touch panel, unlike like it’s predecessor.
Walking the dog as usual then I might carry on decluttering, it’s going well!
Take care ?

Michael12 Wed 26-Jan-22 05:59:46

Good Morning Everyone,
Its another dry and dark start to the day here in brackley .
I have changed plan today, thanks to surgery doing stitch removal not taking place today but tomorrow .
So my usual routine tomorrow will happen today , with bus to Bicester and doing usual , I will also do a early local shop as well.
