The original thread seems to be full. I can’t see a follow on so I’ve started this one ready for the morning rush. Good luck everyone !

nadateturbe Thu 10-Feb-22 03:56:14

Thursday:
Up late so a quick Wordle before bed.
Back to using my favourite word. Got it in 3

He said he sold it "in the low seven figures". The game will remain free-to-play for now but no long-term assurances have been given.

lemsip Wed 09-Feb-22 23:11:02

but he made the game for his girlfriend who is american..
...........................................
Wardle explains that, because he made the game for Shah, “it’s very focused on what she knows and doesn’t know.”

“I was chatting with her this morning actually about, ‘How do you feel about the favor thing?’ And she was like, ‘I’m American. You made the game for me.’”

Auntieflo Wed 09-Feb-22 22:56:22

Got it in 5, but it was a complete fluke, as I didn't realise American spellings were valid.

Libman Wed 09-Feb-22 22:53:53

First time I haven’t been able to solve it so looked on Twitter for the answer. I would never have guessed the American spelling so don’t feel too bad now. ?

Callistemon21 Wed 09-Feb-22 22:45:36

Ps don't answer

Callistemon21 Wed 09-Feb-22 22:45:06

Why can't I invent something like that ?

Maggiemaybe Wed 09-Feb-22 22:43:07

7 figures apparently. I guess that’s in dollars.

Callistemon21 Wed 09-Feb-22 22:42:10

Josh Wardle, he's Welsh.
But he has now sold it to the NYT - who can blame him! I hope he got a good price for it.

Maggiemaybe Wed 09-Feb-22 22:40:03

He’s Welsh, but now lives in New York.

lemsip Wed 09-Feb-22 22:28:54

the creator of Wordle is American!

LullyDully Wed 09-Feb-22 22:13:53

Got it in 3 today. I remember reading about previous American spelling despite the creator being Welsh.

Marydoll Wed 09-Feb-22 21:11:08

Wordle 235 4/6
Must try harder!

⬜⬜⬜??

I don’t read the thread before I post my result so although I’d rather clues weren’t givens I would probably manage to avoid them.

The game was designed by an American chap so it’s no surprise that US spellings are used, today’s isn’t the first.

Bellanonna Wed 09-Feb-22 18:14:54

Us

Bellanonna Wed 09-Feb-22 18:12:54

So right rafichagran. I’m sure most of it do it before looking at the thread.

rafichagran Wed 09-Feb-22 17:58:57

I did it pre the spoiler and did not get it, it is a game some you win some you lose. There is always tommorow.

HurdyGurdy Wed 09-Feb-22 17:52:31

My son messaged me this morning, saying that Wordle usually trends on Twitter, with people sharing their scores.

It did not trend this morning. However, "stupid American" and "bloody American" did grin

I hadn't attempted today's before reading his message, so I was forewarned and managed to get it in five tries

Chrissielou Wed 09-Feb-22 17:52:21

American spelling confused me, 5 today.

Marydoll Wed 09-Feb-22 17:48:45

I haven't had time today, planned to do later. Now that I have seen the clue, I feel as if I am cheating. sad

nadateturbe Wed 09-Feb-22 17:36:39

I didn't know that Fanny.

Oldnproud Wed 09-Feb-22 17:11:10

4 today.
I hadn't seen the clue on here, but became aware weeks ago (the very first time I played Wordle, I think), that such spellings were possible. Luckily, I remembered that today grin.

annodomini Wed 09-Feb-22 13:43:26

I was stuck until I saw a post from a friend on FB that the spelling was American. So I did it in 4 which is still my average.

Lexisgranny Wed 09-Feb-22 13:32:28

4 today, having warmed up with a 3 on Wordle Unlimited.
