Feeling sad for the boy down the well

It doesn’t bear thinking about how scared and perhaps in pain the poor little mite must have been. Heartbreaking.

I was heartbroken to see the pictures of him down the well looking so sad and lonely, and to realise he'd been down there all alone for four days. It has really upset me. Poor little chap, what a terrible way to go. ???

Oh dear, has he died then? It wasn't sounding very hopeful yesterday. How terribly sad.
