Although I haven’t viewed the video as I don’t wish to see a cat being kicked across the room, I’m amazed that this multi millionaire footballer is still playing for his London club.

Compare this to the punishment meted out to the teacher that kick

I've also read that as well as the cats being taken he's been fined £250,000. Hope that's right.

Hopefully someone will have a chat with the children too, to see if they're being bullied.

Well some of the sponsors are giving it some thought. He may end up costing the club a lot more than the obscene amount they paid for him so it could be curtains for him and for Moyes. Good job too.

£250,000 is apparently only 2 weeks' salary to him. I hope he's going to be punished much more severely.... and the brother.

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 09-Feb-22 16:49:55

Yes, apparently that’s the maximum amount the club can fine him (2 weeks’ wages?) and it will be given to animal charities.

So relieved to hear that the cats are now safe.

My concern is this - if he can behave like this towards the cats he owns, ( which is despicable in itself), what might his behaviour be towards his children and partner? Very worrying, I think.

That’s a big concern. There are definite links between animal abuse, domestic violence including child abuse.

It’s also obvious to every poster here that exposing his child to this ‘incident’ was emotionally abusive.

Breaking news! The RSPCA have taken both cats, which will be checked over, and will remain in their care while the investigation continues.

Very pleased to read this. I signed the petition yesterday when it was posted on Mumsnet.

I support the RSPCA and received an email a few hours ago to all supporters. They were acting on the case before it went viral and the cats are safe and in their care. Investigations continue.

The RSPCA have taken the cats into care pending their enquiries.

Good.
Daily Mail just reported that Zouma, who is French, may be prosecuted in France; if found guilty it could result in a 4 year prison sentence.
What on earth was Zouma's brother thinking when he put the video on social media - that people would think it was funny? What a vile pair of brothers. My worry (apart from the poor cat's suffering) is what has this behaviour done to any children in that family - I doubt that this is an isolated incident. Those poor children, living with such a bully of a father, and no doubt they will now get bullied at school because of this incident.

Well yes, and yet ...

it would not have been any less cruel had it NOT been on social media, we just wouldn't have known about it.

Glad the cats have been taken into care.

What point are you trying to make Kali2?

I wonder at the way these two brothers think. Firstly for thinking it amusing to do such a thing, secondly for filming it and thirdly for sharing the film. Brainless!!
Have signed the petition.

I emailed the brother's club, Dagenham and Redbridge, and they replied swiftly. They are looking into it, will post their decision soon. The little shitbag has issued a statement saying how ashamed he is. Yeah right.

Could you share that email address please

Shinamae Wed 09-Feb-22 15:24:41

Please get in touch ….. This scum needs to be sacked and jailed..?

Tizliz Wed 09-Feb-22 15:18:47

I hate the word sorry! Lots of people think they can do what they like and if they get caught then a ‘sorry’ and they can carry on as if nothing has happened.

Peanuts to him.

Shinamae Wed 09-Feb-22 15:03:18

Sarah Jane has just said it’s two weeks wages which will be donated to a charity, bloody pathetic…?

So pleased to hear the cats are now safe. Good news.

It has been going round and round in my head - it must all have been premeditated, must have been. What horrible individuals.

Sparklefizz Wed 09-Feb-22 14:42:24

Great news that the cats are now safe! Relief on that score.
