Footballer kicking cat

Although I haven’t viewed the video as I don’t wish to see a cat being kicked across the room, I’m amazed that this multi millionaire footballer is still playing for his London club.

Compare this to the punishment meted out to the teacher that kick

Sorry this just posted before I’d finished.

My point being it does seem that footballers can do as they please because they help their team win matches and football is run by big business these days, so their employers (clubs) turn a blind eye to their, sometimes, atrocious behaviour.

The fact that this abuse was filmed and posted merely highlights the lack of awareness and any moral compass.

I was horrified. And he said the family’s cats were loved and it would never happen again. Do we believe that? Glad his brother filmed and publicised it. I was surprised that his club played him but there was so much booing, perhaps it was a good thing that they did and he might be dropped if that’s going to happen every time he plays. Police and RSPCA are investigating but the penalties are woefully inadequate. Losing his livelihood would be a good punishment. Despicable excuse for a man.

I believe that the RSPCA are looking into it. I hope a prosecution follows, the evidence is there for all to see.

Imagine his brother published the clip for entertainment purposes. Which is exactly why this is a serious issue.

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 09-Feb-22 08:28:01

I hope it wasn’t posted for entertainment. That hadn’t occurred to me. How sick.

I think the police should seize both of their phones and go through them because I don’t imagine this is the first incident. Absolute vile human beings… And I hope the RSPCA have already taken the cats, if they haven’t they should be ashamed leaving them in that environment and that moron has two cats..

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 09-Feb-22 08:36:22

I agree but I bet it doesn’t happen. If he’s prosecuted he has the money to pay for a top lawyer. It’s sickening. And what an example to set his children.

Exactly! And he was laughing while filming it!

I couldn't stop thinking about it last night while cuddling my own cat, and was glad to see on BBC Breakfast that both the police and RSPCA are involved, and glad that he was booed.

I hope his pets have been removed to a safe and loving place.

According to the radio this morning the cat is still living in his house. He should not be allowed to keep any pets for life and be made to pay a large sum to charity. Preferably an animal charity.

I really cannot understand why the RSPCA has not acted and removed the cats from this toxic environment,it’s an absolute disgrace ?

A top lawyer cannot get away from the fact because there is video evidence of the abuse…

How can any lawyer defend the indefensible

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 09-Feb-22 09:03:27

Unfortunately the sentencing guidelines don’t extend to extracting money for charity. I didn’t realise his brother was laughing, another despicable piece of work. Maybe charges can be brought against him for incitement.

Bloody psychopath!

GrannyGravy13 Wed 09-Feb-22 09:04:37

There is another thread entitled I love my cat on this subject.

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 09-Feb-22 09:06:13

The evidence is there but a lawyer can put forward a plea in mitigation. Difficult to imagine mitigating circumstances I know.

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 09-Feb-22 09:07:33

I didn’t know it was about this, thought it was about people’s pet cats. Will have a look, thanks.

GSM it is absolutely sickening ???

He played for West Ham last night. Supporters for both teams booed him I’m pleased to report. Not pleased, however, that this poor cat is left in his possession. My grandmother would have advocated he be horsewhipped.

I didn’t see the other thread. Sorry, I haven’t been on much recently but had a quick look through but missed it.

And I would absolutely agree with your grandmother!

I love football. What I don't love are football managers coming out and almost defending their pampered, overpaid players when they are caught in the act of something or other. Kurt Zouma is a big bloke and the poor cat must have suffered dreadfully. It looked like the Police were not getting involved but the RSPCA and public outrage have prodded them into action. His football manager, David Moyes, said he played him in last night's match 'because he is an important player for our team'. Oh, so that's ok then. There you have it. Football league tables and performances trump everything else. Shame on them.

tickingbird Wed 09-Feb-22 09:27:00

It’s horrendous but, in view of what happened to the teacher that kicked the horse, he shouldn’t be playing. The fact that his idiot brother thought it acceptable to film this cruelty for entertainment and in front of a child, just shows the mentality of these people. At the very least his sponsors should drop him and he needs to face court action.

25Avalon Wed 09-Feb-22 09:29:50

Sarnia it was the same with Raith Rovers but public opinion and their sponsors forced a reversal. Think again West Ham and Moyes.
