Depressing adverts on Gransnet

I'm innundated with adverts for care homes! How do they know how old I am? Where do they get that information.?

I am getting something about publishing Your own book on your own terms, engagement rings Property owners getting a good deal. Don't want an add blocker it's much too much fun without one.

Lots of Noom, Joy Mitty and this one, which seems to show that we go from stick-thin to balloon and back again if we do/don’t do Pilates.

It’s not exactly an ad, and it wouldn’t call it depressing - just appallingly patronising!

Under the GN ‘Latest’ box it says,
What are gifts in wills?

Does anyone on here honestly not know? Does GN HQ really think some of us don’t?

I dare say it’s a matter of poor wording, but surely a heading like, ‘A guide to gifts in wills’ would be more appropriate.

I have had an advert for a funeral plan. It asks "do you dread an ordinary funeral"

My DD suggests sitting up in a carriage drawn by black, plumed horses with your arm rigged up to wave.
And skywriting saying "See you on the other side."!

Do you fancy that?
(She could probably come up with exciting plans for the rest of the occasion too.)

Hi Caleo - I've just checked a couple of my recorded programmes, and yes the subtitles appear if I click the subtitles button on my controller! Who knew? I've learned something!

We use Adblock, so no adverts for us.

We also record any programmes we want to watch on tv, so we can watch later and skip through the ads. The only programme we watch in real time is Dancing on Ice, because I like to vote, and the voting window is really small, blink and you miss it!

Ear wax, weighted blankets, crepey skin , what to drink before bed to lose weight, funeral plans for my town and retirement homes,shampoo for grey hair. The one that did worry me was the part where it says what Gransnet has been buying and there was the next instalment of a book I had bought for the Kindle on Amazon.
They must know I am overweight sit and read a lot, retired and in need of care and attention before moving into a retirement home. Where I might get rid of my creepy skin their photo looks like something off a mummy. In there I need a funeral plan and to write my will which I forgot. To top it all Gransnet has just been changed to Transnet. So maybe I need that as well.

I'm having hysterics over this... it's so funny

At the moment they are getting me ready for the retirement home something called BouX lingerie it looks like something out of a strip club!!!
