Ebay trials

The saga continues - I have refunded the purchase price as a gesture of goodwill and the buyer said she was posting it back this morning but was still moaning about having to pay the postage! She also “told me off”. :for refunding the purchase price before I got the item back I’d have thought “Thank you” a more appropriate response!
As I see it, if you buy on the internet you generally do have to be prepared to pay both delivery and usually the postage on returns . That’s the down side of the convenience of shopping from home!
She was still complaining the description was “misleading” - what is confusing or misleading about “white and blue fair isle” and how could she have expected grey and then thought it was black?
Anyway, it is a lesson to me that sometimes you simply can’t please some people.
I look forward to having my cardi back and to * wearing it* !!

Never sold clothes on ebay, but a range of other things and never had a problem.

I and my son have been buying and selling on ebay for years.
You always get the odd one you can't please but on the whole we have perfect transactions.
I wouldn't have given a refund as you stated the colour in the description.
I would have opened a case against her with ebay and let them sort it out.

Some EBayers are hilariously awful.

I bought a couple of items that were described as new, but when they arrived they were pilled and dirty, and not fit for dusters. I messaged the seller, who claimed that because she had said 'no returns' in her listing she didn't have to refund me. Her messages got more and more abusive, complete with F expletives and comments about my weight (the items were size 14!) but eventually Ebay stepped in and issued a refund, so she had to accept it.

The address she gave was something like 'Noneofyourbusiness Street'?. Presumably she used her own postcode so she could claim postage from the PO when the items weren't delivered.

Fortunately, I've been round the block a few times online, and her swearing and insults were water off a duck's back; but someone more sensitive may well have found the experience distressing. I think she's left (or been banned) now, or has changed her seller name, as I checked out of interest a couple of months later and she had gone.

I’ve never sold on eBay because I can’t be bothered to deal with all the buyers questions and complaints.
I have bought quite a lot though and some sellers aren’t always honest. However, as I don’t usually spend a fortune I take the good with the bad and donate the item to a charity shop if I don’t like it. Sometimes it’s my fault for not reading the description properly. If you had said blue and I read black/grey I would have blamed myself. People can be very cheeky.
All in all have had some really good deals by buying this way.

Looks grey and white to me but very nice. A bargain for £8 I would say. I've had a few things (mostly toys) that have not quite been as described but were ok and much cheaper than shops. I also paid for something that didn't turn up and the poor seller was mortified and refunded me then sent me something else - she really didn't need to and I felt so sorry for her.

Unfortunately, your first ebay contact has been with a dodgy individual. MOST on there are OK. I've had 1 or 2 who aren't great but even those that aren't chuffed with their purchases have usually not been rude or bad.

Ah well, we shall see. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt for now but what a fuss for £8 ???

MayBeMaw I looked at her profile page, the first feedback is obviously what you have left. It has your Ebay ID on it. It didn't require many grey cells.

She is most likely wearing it and was after a refund or discount there are lots of scammer buyers out there.
One woman bought a Gemme Collins maxi dress from me a few years ago and after 3 weeks I got a ebay notice that she had claimed it was damaged (it was in mint condition all checked before posting) she returned it and I refunded her to find when the dress arrived it had a large hole in the hem obviously she had put her heel through the hem and to make matters worse my DD found pics of her wearing the dress at a wedding on FB.

I'll go and confiscate the coatigan - it's rather nice!

Well I have her address from posting it to her, so I could always send the heavies round (my Weightwatchers friends) ??

Funny, Elizabeth I looked her up on eBay and it gave me no information at all. You are clearly using ze little grey cells better than I can!

I think she’s got a bit of a cheek and if you’re refunding her should she not be returning it to you? She could always sell it on but I’m inclined to agree with Callistemon21 - I bet she’s wearing it!

I looked up devilmaycard as I thought I recognised the name, it wasn't who I thought.

Looking at their feedback it was obvious of your EBay name, from there if people wanted they could look at everything you have bought or sold on Ebay.
